Surface Waves Extraction And Their Effect On Effective Material Parameters Of Metamaterials
We investigate the influence of the finite width of the metamaterial slabs. The surface waves excited in finite-width slabs are numerically extracted by the rigorous coupled-wave analysis method. The magnitudes and decay rates of surface waves are analyzed for different materials and geometries. A general homogenization method based on the analysis of appropriately defined macroscopic fields in metamaterial cells is proposed to retrieve the effective material parameters as functions of position. The effects of surface waves on effective material parameters are studied
Magnetic resonance imaging of glutamate in neuroinflammation
AbstractInflammation in central nervous system (CNS) is one of the most severe diseases, and also plays an impellent role in some neurodegenerative diseases. Glutamate (Glu) has been considered relevant to the pathogenesis of neuroinflammation. In order to diagnose neuroinflammation incipiently and precisely, we review the pathobiological events in the early stages of neuroinflammation, the interactions between Glu and neuroinflammation, and two kinds of magnetic resonance techniques of imaging Glu (chemical exchange saturation transfer and magnetic resonance spectroscopy)
Analysis Of Nonlinear Graphene Plasmonics Using Surface Integral Equations
Graphene plasmonics have attracted significant attention in the past few years due to the remarkable optical and electrical properties of graphene. A highly effective method based on surface integral equations (SIE) in the frequency domain is proposed to describe both linear and nonlinear effects of graphene efficiently and accurately. Graphene, a centrosymmet-ric material, can possess second harmonic generation (SHG) when the conductivity is nonlocal. In this work, the fundamental harmonic (FH) of a graphene wrapped particle is studied as the first benchmark by introducing a conducting surface in SIE. Then it is modified to analyze a graphene-based patch antenna in both FH and SHG. This method can be extended to other two-dimensional materials easily, and fast multipole algorithm can be applied to accelerate the simulation
Procedure of SPC data treatment for “uniaxial test correlation”
In order to determine creep properties from small punch creep (SPC) tests, several theoretical models and analytic methods are applied, such as the Chakrabarty’s membrane stretch model and reverse finite element method. However, because the problem is too complicated, differences are always found between the theoretical prediction and the uniaxial creep tests. In this paper, a concept of “Uniaxial test correlation” is proposed without any theoretical assumption and analytic calculation. By comparison of the rupture time in SPC with the uniaxial creep rupture data, the equivalent stres
Cyclin D1 overexpression is a critical event in gallbladder carcinogenesis and independently predicts decreased survival for patients with gallbladder carcinoma
This study was designed to test the hypothesis that cyclin D1 overexpression is involved in the multistep process of gallbladder carcinogenesis and can be used to predict poor prognosis for patients with gallbladder carcinoma (GBC). Cyclin D1 expression was examined immunohistochemically in a series of specimens, including 8 normal epithelia, 8 benign adenomyoma lesions, 6 precancerous adenomas, and 37 carcinomas of the gallbladder. Four of the 6 (67%) adenomas and 15 of the 37 (41%) adenocarcinomas demonstrated cyclin D1 overexpression (>5% nuclear staining), whereas all normal epithelia and adenomyoma lesions were negative for cyclin D1. Kaplan-Meier curves showed that cyclin D1 overexpression was significantly related to decreased overall survival (P < 0.05) in patients with GBCs. The Cox proportional hazards model identified cyclin D1 overexpression as an independent prognostic marker for death (P = 0.024; risk ratio, 4.2; 95% confidence interval, 1.2-14.7). To test whether cyclin D1 overexpression is a critical event in gallbladder neoplasms, cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p27Kip1 was introduced to ascertain how cyclin D1 affects clinical outcomes. Subsequently, neoplasms were divided into three groups on the basis of the combination of cyclin D1 expression and p27Kip1 status, which had been determined previously. Group 1 showed no abnormality in either cyclin D1 or p27Kip1 expression. Group 2 showed aberrant expression of one of the two proteins, whereas group 3 showed concurrent abnormalities in both proteins. Results indicated that overall survival was greatest in group 1, followed by a significant decrease in group 2 and a more precipitous decrease in group 3. In conclusion, cyclin D1 overexpression is an early event in gallbladder carcinogenesis and independently predicts decreased survival for patients with GBC
Large scale quantum simulations: C_60 impacts on a semiconducting surface
We present tight binding molecular dynamics simulations of C_60 collisions on
the reconstructed diamond(111) surface, carried out with an O(N) method and
with cells containing 1140 atoms. The results of our simulations are in very
good agreement with experiments performed under the same impact conditions.
Furthermore our calculations provide a detailed characterization of the
microscopic processes occuring during the collision, and allow the
identification of three impact regimes, as a function of the fullerene incident
energy. Finally, the study of the reactivity between the cluster and the
surface gives insight into the deposition mechanisms of C_60 on semiconducting
substrates
Time-lagged study on psychological contract breach, perceived organizational support and turnover intention of general practitioners
Objective To analyze teh relationship between perceived organizational support, psychological contract breach and turnover intention, so dat to provide a new idea for teh improvement of incentives for general practitioners.
Mehtods During teh period from June to December 2016, two questionnaire surveys were conducted among teh general practitioners of teh Community Health Centers in Pudong New Area, Shanghai. Teh first survey measured demographic sociology information, perceived organizational support, and psychological contract breach. Teh second survey measured turnover intention. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 statistical software.
Results 1145 GPs got score of 4.59±0.85 in perceived organizational support, score of 2.87±0.53 in psychological contract breach, and score of 2.26±0.95 in turnover intention. Psychological contract breach and perceived organizational support had a negative effect on turnover intention, and psychological contract breach had a positive effect on perceived organizational support, and perceived organizational support had a partial mediation role in psychological contract breach and turnover intention.
Conclusion Teh incentive measures for general practitioners in Pudong New Area of Shanghai need to be further improved from teh aspects of strengtaning interpretation and guaranteeing implementation, and emphasis on career development.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
Holographic dark energy with time varying parameter
We consider the holographic dark energy model in which the model parameter
evolves slowly with time. First we calculate the evolution of EoS
parameter as well as the deceleration parameter in this generalized version of
holographic dark energy (GHDE). Depending on the parameter , the phantom
regime can be achieved earlier or later compare with original version of
holographic dark energy. The evolution of energy density of GHDE model is
investigated in terms of parameter . We also show that the time-dependency
of can effect on the transition epoch from decelerated phase to
accelerated expansion. Finally, we perform the statefinder diagnostic for GHDE
model and show that the evolutionary trajectories of the model in plane
are strongly depend on the parameter .Comment: 16 pages, 4 figures, accepted by Astrophys Space Sc
