The household of Catherine of Austria, Queen of Portugal (1523-1526)

El presente trabajo analiza la formación, organización y estructura de la casa que se configuró entorno a doña Catalina de Austria, reina de Portugal, entre 1523 y 1526, teniendo en consideración las disputas faccionales entre los diferentes grupos de poder en las cortes castellana y portuguesa, así como la relación de los oficiales que la compusieron pues esta casa aglutinó un grupo de poder que se dejaría sentir en los diferentes aspectos de la vida política, social y económica del reino portugués, y que desarrolló una línea de actuación propia en las décadas siguientes del siglo XVI.This paper analyses the development, the organization and the structure of the household which was formed around Catherine of Austria, queen of Portugal between 1523 and 1526. The author considers the factional strife between the different groups of power in the Castilian and Portuguese courts, as well as the record of the officials of the household, as it agglutinated a group of power which exercised influence over different aspects of the social, political and economic life of the Portuguese kingdom, that developed its own line of action in the following decades of the sixteenth century
