Studies of Single Electroweak Bosons at the Tevatron
Tests of the Standard Model with Electroweak Physics have been performed over
many decades. In these proceedings, we present several analyses from the
Tevatron involving single or bosons.Comment: XIX International Workshop on Deep-Inelastic Scattering and Related

Testing the Standard Model with WGamma and ZGamma at the Tevatron
Results on analyses involving WGamma and ZGamma production from the CDF and
D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider at Sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV are
presented here. Using 1-2 fb^-1 of data, cross sections, anomalous coupling
limits, and the WGamma Radiation Amplitude Zero are reviewed.Comment: Parallel talk at ICHEP08, Philadelphia, USA, July 200
Inventory and Characterization of the Riparian Zone of the Current and Jacks Fork Rivers
The ecological, recreational, and economic value of the 134 mile (216 km) riparian corridor within the Ozark National Scenic Riverways (ONSR) is of great interest to land managers and conservationists. Recent interest in applying ecosystem management to forest systems has necessitated a fresh look at the tools and methods in use to assess existing patterns of plant community structure and diversity. The purpose and objective of the study described in this report was to initiate a series of vegetation studies that could be integrated with existing research and management infonnation on the riparian vegetation in the ONSR. Defining the compositional and spatial attributes of the riparian corridor were at the core of our research efforts. We used multivariate analysis and ordination techniques to characterize the composition and distribution of woody and herbaceous vegetation within the ONSR
Tensile properties of textile composites
The importance of textile composite materials in aerospace structural applications has been gaining momentum in recent years. With a view to better understand the suitability of these materials in aerospace applications, an experimental program was undertaken to assess the mechanical properties of these materials. Specifically, the braided textile preforms were infiltrated with suitable polymeric matrices leading to the fabrication of composite test coupons. Evaluation of the tensile properties and the analyses of the results in the form of strength moduli, Poisson's ratio, etc., for the braided composites are presented. Based on our past experience with the textile coupons, the fabrication techniques have been modified (by incorporating glass microballoons in the matrix and/or by stabilizing the braid angle along the length of the specimen with axial fibers) to achieve enhanced mechanical properties of the textile composites. This paper outlines the preliminary experimental results obtained from testing these composites
Social enterprise support policies: distinctions and challenges
This chapter examines the support infrastructure for a specific segment of the SME market, namely social enterprises. The first section briefly examines the different definitions of social enterprise found in different countries. There is a spectrum of types of organisations ranging from commercial enterprises with social objectives, to voluntary or community sector organisations that have an element of trading activity. The second section discusses the rationales for public sector interest in support, examining how this differs between countries and over time. Particular attention is given to the emergence of social enterprise policies in the UK. The third section examines the different types of support that are commonly provided. This includes: encouraging social entrepreneurship and attitudes to starting a social enterprise; training and advisory services for start ups and for those wanting to grow or survive; social investment and finance; social enterprises and public sector procurement; and the transfer of public assets to social enterprise organisations. The final section examines the challenges of evaluating the effectiveness of these policies. Since social enterprises provide a combination of social, environmental and financial objectives, evaluation measures have to address both economic benefits and broader social value
