The HistoricaI Background of "A Plan of the Constitution of Japan" drafted by Iwasaburo Takano
Patients with cancer have a high risk of developing cancer-associated thrombosis (CAT). Current guidelines suggestpreferential use of low molecular weight heparins (LMWH) in CAT. The real-world data show that compliance withrecommended LMWH therapy in cancer patients is low. Many patients discontinue injectable anticoagulantsprematurely, in some cases even after a month, despite a high recurrence rate in this population. In recentyears an increasing number of cancer patients are treated with direct oral anticoagulants, mainly rivaroxaban.Recent data confirming the safety and efficacy of rivaroxaban are starting to emerge and support the growingtrend of using direct oral anticoagulants in cancer patients. If positive results of the recently completed SELECT-Dtrial are confirmed in the upcoming trials and registries of CALLISTO project, the guidelines for the treatmentof CAT will have to be revised in favour of DOAC use in cancer-associated thrombosis
Dynamical correlations in electronic transport through a system of coupled quantum dots
Current auto- and cross-correlations are studied in a system of two
capacitively coupled quantum dots. We are interested in a role of Coulomb
interaction in dynamical correlations, which occur outside the Coulomb blockade
region (for high bias). After decomposition of the current correlation
functions into contributions between individual tunneling events, we can show
which of them are relevant and lead to sub-/supper-Poissonian shot noise and
negative/positive cross-correlations. The results are differentiated for a weak
and strong inter-dot coupling. Interesting results are for the strong coupling
case when electron transfer in one of the channel is strongly correlated with
charge drag in the second channel. We show that cross-correlations are
non-monotonic functions of bias voltage and they are in general negative
(except some cases with asymmetric tunnel resistances). This is effect of local
potential fluctuations correlated by Coulomb interaction, which mimics the
Pauli exclusion principle
Przetoka kałowa odbytniczo- skórna jako powikłanie niskiej przedniej resekcji z powodu raka odbytnicy i radioterapii
Faecal fistula is an abnormal passage which communicates with anus, bladder or vagina. Fistulas are usually caused by inflammatory diseases, surgery or radiation therapy. We present a patient with rare manifestation of faecal fistula with fluctuation above left knee and with sepsis. His past medical history includes anal cancer surgical management of and adjuvant radiation therapy 5 years prior the admittance. He was unsuccessfully treated in other hospital. After subcutaneous and intramuscular drainage and after conversion from loop- into end colostomy fistulae lost their communication. The patient has fully recovered.
