Krhkost civilizacije v Hobbesovih zgodovinskih spisih

Hobbes's political science rests on the historical claim that civilization is inherently fragile and prone to degenerate into civil war. This claim is not systematically proven in Hobbes's political treatises, however, and must be reconstructed from his extensive set of historical writings, including Behemoth. Through a careful examination of these writings, I show that Hobbes has a coherent theory of history which traces the evolution of man from barbarism to civilization and identifies the weakness of civilization as its tendency to produce doctrinal warfare. After developing this historical critique, I argue that Hobbes is an optimist in believing that the doctrinal wars of civilization can be overcome by a process of enlightenment that would end man's irrational behavior and establish "immortal peace". I compare Hobbes's hope for an enlightened and peaceful world with the more pessimistic view of Samuel Huntington in The Clash of Civilizations and conclude that Huntington has a more accurate view of history and human nature than Hobbes.Hobbesova politična znanost temelji na trditvi, daje civilizacija krhka in nagnjena k degeneraciji v državljansko vojno. Green Bay Packers' Titletown Development Sustainability Recommendations

Based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Green Bay Packers are a leading ​professional football franchise that is part of the National Football League (NFL). Our SNRE capstone master’s project focused on developing sustainability-oriented recommendations for the Packers organization. The proposed objectives ​of this SNRE master’s project were split into two phases. Phase I, completed in Spring 2016, focused on developing recommendations to minimize the environmental impacts of the soon-to-be built Titletown Development: a $130-million, 34-acre commercial center outside Lambeau Field. Our SNRE team identified two main areas where we could provide robust sustainability recommendations. First, our team performed an artificial turf versus natural grass sustainability analysis for a high-visibility, football-sized playfield within the ten-acre park. Second, we conducted an analysis of energy-efficient outdoor lighting for the Titletown Development site. We evaluated the industry’s best practices and innovative market offerings that would meet the aesthetic and regulatory needs for the Titletown district. Phase II centered around the creation of a set of organizational sustainability strategies for the Packers, which incorporated process recommendations to assist future sustainability initiatives. This strategy outlined frameworks to be used to institutionalize sustainability within the Packers’ organizational culture in order to allow for the long-term success of sustainability initiatives.
