This article was conducted within the framework of project reg. no. CZ.11.4.120/0.0/0.0/ 16_013/0002594, programme, Interreg V-A Czech Republic-Poland, Microprojects Fund 2014–2020 in the Euroregion Silesia. It is focused in the area of modelling technological processes and the presentation of the main principles of these models. The modelling of technological processes is important in terms of its applicability to process prediction in industry. A complex of analytical and predictive metallurgical models was developed within VSB-TUO. The original mathematical model of coke degradation in a blast furnace makes it possible to calculate the minimum consumption of coke from the dynamic balance for different values of the ratio of direct and indirect reduction. As part of the graphic output, it determines the practically and theoretically achievable minimum coke consumption points. The use of the model enables the determination of a real reserve in reducing the amount of coke.Web of Science111art. no. 7

The quality parameters of products should be controlled at every stage of the production process, since it allows detection of any problems even in the initial stages of production processes and removes their causes during manufacturing. Final control of products is intended to capture non-conforming products that did not go to the customers. The results of such controls should constantly be analysed. Such analysis can help to detect the most common problems, determine some dependences or identify the causes of such situations. A lot of different instruments that can support improvement of processes can be used for this kind of analysis. The paper presents the possibility of using some tools which can be utilized to support the analysis and assessment of quality of products at different stages of the production process. The quality analysis of exemplary products using selected quality methods and tolls is carried out. Metal sleeve, that is part of electronic control subassembly of anti-blocking system of ABS, which was the research component being studied

The basic economic goal of pig iron process is to produce a finished product at the highest possible quality and at the lowest possible cost. The quality of pig iron depends on the quality of raw materials used in the process, quality of fuels and process parameters. The cost of fuel is one of the basic component of cost of pig iron production. Therefore, consumption of fuels should be minimized while maintaining its high quality. The main technological fuel of this process is blast furnace coke. Very often, cheaper alternative kinds of fuels are used in the form of finer sorts of coke or alternative fuels (e.g. coal dust). However, they can be used only in a limited amount. The aim of the paper is the assessment of the selected quality parameters of stabilized coke used in the blast furnace process and the comparison of their values with requirements
