This study investigated tenth grade Bhutanese students’ understanding of the law of mechanical energy conservation. A low-cost hands-on model developed using locally available materials designed as an integral part of a guided inquiry laboratory was used as intervention. A single-group pretest-posttest research design was employed. The instruments used to explore the students’ conceptual understanding and views and attitudes were 13 two-tier multiple-choice items and 20 close-ended Likert-based items, respectively. The study also examined the students’ views and attitudes toward a guided inquiry laboratory and the effectiveness of a hands-on model through a semi-structured interview protocol. The data was analysed by calculating the mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The paired-sample t-test indicated a significant enhancement of students’ conceptual understanding due to the intervention of the guided inquiry laboratory from pretest (M=12.59, SD=3.28) to posttest [M=21.39, SD=3.07), t(99) = – 52.14,

This project had been take time in 12 mounts. We focused on rice variety classification and rice kernel damage inspection. We also investigated the apparent friction of rice surface. Results showed that area and size were the quantities that have the potential to classify rice variety and also rice kernel damage inspection. In addition, we also found that geometric mean diameter performed characteristic to apparent friction of rice surface in kerosene. These results have the potential to be the basis information in terms of developing instrument for quality control and variety classification of cereal.Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakho

This project had been take time in 12 mounts. We focused on the isolation of microorganism that from manufacturing process and forming in gems and jewelry industry. Results showed that the initial silver refinery microorganism performed only in terms of Pseudomonas genus especially in AgNO3 solution. In contrast, Bacillus genus was not clearly effective silver refinery. These results could be the basis information for establish and develop system for silver refinery and/or silver quality improvement with biological process especially microorganisms in future.Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakho

According to this issue, the real-time observation and together with the knowledge base of mechanical properties should be essentially helpful in detection of these defect observations. The objective of this work was established to study the mechanical stress-strain properties of rice kernels via our in-house pneumatic system design. We found that stress-strain of RD6, RD15, Phitsanulok 2 and Khao Dawk Mali 105 were greater than Khao'Yipun DOAI with moisture content of 20% w.b. These results tentatively indicated the mechanical stress-strains occurred were from the difference of rice shapes. Moreover, we could recognize that the characteristics of these various shapes significantly followed the scaling law of the relation between strain and time. We also found that the breaking force was different value for rice varieties. This parameter obtained can be such a high potential approach that can be used for further developing in the quantitative classification of rice varieties.Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakho

This method should be used to replace the electrochemical process and chemical method which cause the pollution of toxic substances, acid fumes and heavy metals of copper cyanide to the environments. The research started at the characterization and identification of microorganisms presented in gold contaminated water in natural source where is highly acidic (pH 2-4) and it could synthesize nanogold particles. The bacteria Bacillus sp. E201 were identified from this source and it showed its 16S rDNA gene with similarity of 95% to bacteria Bacillus thuringiensis accession no. FJ755916. It could create gold in the solution outside the cells within three days Form 1 mM HAuCl4 â€Ē 3H2O solution, the bacterial dry weight could yield 75.3% with the amount of 0.5115 grams. It could be able to withstand acidic conditions and harvest gold from the gold extraction solution after centrifugation and filtration. So this developed biological method could be developed to apply in the industrial production of gold and jewelry industry.Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakho

These issues also have significantly importance for rice industry and economy of Thailand. Many drying process such as spouted bed technique and fluidized bed technique are extremely studied in terms of instrument design and energy consumption. However, these drying processes were not suitable for high economic rice. Because of these processes performed highly damaged kernels during drying process. The objective of this project, we proposed the alternative drying system that perform low damaged paddy kernels. We also were design and fabrication drying system for paddy in terms of conveyer pipe. This machine have the performance including feed rate approximately 22.83 kg/hr., drying temperature 30-120šC, air velocity 0-1.5 m/s, drying time 14.64-16.91 min and energy consumption 6.02 baht/hr. We improved our machine by drying the RD41 paddy at moisture content 28 (%w.b.). We also setup drying temperatures 40°C, 45°C, 50°C, 55°C and 60°C with air velocities 0.7m/s, 1.0m/s and 1.5m/s. We found that all drying temperatures have the final moisture content lower than 15 (%w.b.) and percentage of complete paddy after drying (HRY-paddy) more than 96%. For the kernels quality, we found that HRY-Brown rice tend to increase with drying temperature increased. We also found that HRY-Unbroken kernels for polishing tend to decrease between drying temperature 40°C - 50°C for air velocities 0.7m/s and 1.5m/s. Therefore, these results obtained can be such a high potential approach that can be used for further developing into rice economy and industry of Thailand.Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakho
