A Study on a Development Methodology for Real-time Urban Water Monitoring System

    Get PDF
The purposes of this study are to raise the awareness of urban water not being efficiently managed and to propose a method for resolving this issue. To serve these purposes, a methodology was proposed to obtain sensing data in a real-time monitoring method and to build them into an IT system. Some sample data among sensing data were used to perform a series of trend analyses using a polynomial model. In addition, a method for the continued management of urban water monitoring systems was proposed based on the real-time monitoring data collected from sensors. As a result of the aforementioned research, a monitoring technique is needed in order to improve the reliability of urban water

A Research on the Trend Pattern Analysis of Industrial Water Consumption

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to propose the average trend pattern of the industrial water consumption. A real-time sensing technique was adopted for the consumption data acquisition. Data were transformed from the field equipments to the management server in every 5 minutes. The data acquired were substituted to a polynomial formula selected. As a result, a series of models were developed for each day. Each of these models is finalized to represent the average water consumption for the day. In this way, an average consumption pattern is derived for each day of a week. As a result of the aforementioned research, the proposed trend pattern analysis technique is expected to offer some important role for the water supply forecasting administration and management

A Comparative Analysis of Changes of Student’s Attitude Before and After an International Virtual Learning Class

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of international virtual learning classes. For the purpose, the class implemented using multipoint communication system which was constructed high quality video transfer systems on a cross-border infrastructure (gigabit bandwidth) between Japan to South Korea. In order to reveal the effects of the class, a questionnaire was composed of five categories; Consciousness to Foreign Countries, Nationality, Acquisition of View Point, Motivation, Recognition to the partner country. The results of 2x2 mixed two-way ANOVA showed differences of characteristics of two countries and changes of student’s attitude. The results revealed that an international virtual learning class has a possibility to develop and enhance student\u27s awareness of humanity and the world. Future implementation will depend on growth and sustenance of the international relationship for a prolonged period

Image processing of aerial photographs taken by the U.S. military before and after the atomic bombing of Nagasaki (Part 1)

During World War II, a photo reconnaissance plane named the F-13, a modified American military strategic bomber B-29, collected information to drop atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This plane was known as the "3RPS" characters on photographic film. It means that the 3rd Photo Reconnaissance Squadron. This presentation included the state of the National Archives in the United States, where we can see and touch on the contents of the photographs by American photo reconnaissance aircraft. In addition, we reported the contents of the research to improve image quality processing. In particular, this document explains the contents of processing a total of 58 digital data (August 7 and September 7, 1945) before and after the atomic bombing of Nagasaki.
