    Clinical importance of Marma w.s.r. to Role in Pathological Condition: An Ayurveda Review

    Ayurveda as science of life and spiritualism provides many ways of healthy living and focused towards the prevention and treatment of diseases. The observation, supervision and practical understating contributed towards the built up of principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda presented several concepts related to the physiological functioning and anatomy of body, Marma is one such aspect of Ayurveda considered as resuscitative and penetrable area of the body. These Marma points are presents all over the body including neck, head, trunk & extremities. Marmas points in body mainly built up by groups of muscles, ligaments, vessels, tendons and bones, etc. Marma points are related with Tridosha, Bhutatma and Triguna therefore any injury and trauma to the Marma can lead painful manifestations which may be lethal sometimes. Generally 107 Marma’s described in various Ayurveda literatures which are responsible for many clinical events. The knowledge of Marma points can be utilizes for diagnostic, clinical and therapeutic purposes

    The current era put stress, and strain on human population as a result of dietary changes, lifestyle adjustments, urbanization, and industrialization, which increase pollution and antibiotic resistance and contribute to the occurrence of numerous diseases. Due to its central location and constant exposure to the outside world, the nose is particularly vulnerable to these risk factors and recurring infections. Jirna Pratishyaya is the sickness that is most frequently spreading. The condition becomes a chronic phase as a result of recurrent attacks, poor treatment, or neglect during the acute period. The current medical system explains a variety of treatment options, such as corticosteroids, antiallergic medications, inhalers, antihistamines, etc., but none of them is completely efficient in treating the disease and avoiding its recurrence, and they all have their own adverse effects.     Ayurveda is holistic science that works for healthy, wealthy and happy life. The wisdom of Ayurveda based on various theories and principles. The concept of “Samanya Vishesh Siddhanta” is one such basic principle of Ayurveda which helps to treat diseases. Samanya means similarity and Vishesh means dissimilarity, using this concept of similarity and dissimilarity many diseases can be cured effectively. Disease mainly arises due to the disturbance in equilibrium of Dosha, Dhatu, Mala and Agni, etc. The balance of these biological entities can be established using Dravyas possessing similar and dissimilar attributes. The specific Gunas and Karmas of Dravyas play key role in the concept of Samanya Vishesh Siddhanta. Samanya Vishesh Siddhant based on the qualities of substances which either increases or decrease quality and quantity of Dravya, Guna and Karma.     Grahani is an ayurveda terms related to the seat of agni (digestive fire), which help in the metabolism and digestion of food. The ancient text of ayurveda described that ingestion, digestion, absorption and assimilation of Aahaar is regulated by Grahani. When this Agni becomes; mandagni then improper digestion of ingested food leads pathological condition termed as Grahani roga. Similarly Trividh anomalies of the Jatharagni also termed as Grahanidosha. Grahani is a disease which affects large population globally especially in developing country and associated with improper food habits along with stressful lifestyle. The pathogenesis of Grahani roga works around Agnidosha which associated with impaired digestive function of digestive fire. Ayurveda considered Ahara, Nidra and Brahmacarya as important parts of life for achieving goal of Swasthavritta. Nidra is a state of complete physical and mental relaxation of body which play vital role towards the good health status. There are some factors which may disturb physiology of Nidra leading to condition of sleeplessness/insomnia (Anidra). Anidra is abnormal physiological condition which greatly affects quality of life and this problem increasing day by day due to the enhanced level of stress, diversified environmental condition, disturb pattern of life style and bad dietary habits. It is very important for physician society to put focus attention to reduces prevalence of this issue. Ayurveda mentioned different therapeutic approaches for the management condition of insomnia including use of natural herbs, formulation, Shodhna Chikitsa and good conduction of Ahara-Vihara.
