Majorana meets Coxeter: Non-Abelian Majorana Fermions and Non-Abelian Statistics
We discuss statistics of vortices having zero-energy non-Abelian Majorana
fermions inside them. Considering the system of multiple non-Abelian vortices,
we derive a non-Abelian statistics that differs from the previously derived
non-Abelian statistics. The new non-Abelian statistics presented here is given
by a tensor product of two different groups, namely the non-Abelian statistics
obeyed by the Abelian Majorana fermions and the Coxeter group. The Coxeter
group is a symmetric group related to the symmetry of polytopes in a
high-dimensional space. As the simplest example, we consider the case in which
a vortex contains three Majorana fermions that are mixed with each other under
the SO(3) transformations. We concretely present the representation of the
Coxeter group in our case and its geometrical expressions in the
high-dimensional Hilbert space constructed from non-Abelian Majorana fermions.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figures, references added, published versio
Thermoelastic analysis of solar cell arrays and their material properties
Announced report discusses experimental test program in which five different solar cell array designs were evaluated by subjecting them to 60 thermal cycles from minus 190 deg to 0.0 deg. Results indicate that solder-coated cells combined with Kovar n-interconnectors and p-interconnectors are more durable under thermal loading than other configurations

Studies of the Anomalous Hall Effect and Magnetic Structure of Nd2Mo2O7 -Test of the Chirality Mechanism-
Neutron scattering studies have been carried out under the magnetic fields
H//[0_11] and H//[001] on a single crystal of Nd2Mo2O7, whose Hall
resistivity(rhoH) exhibits quite unusual H- and temperature(T)-dependences.
Material parameters such as the single ion anisotropies of the Mo- and Nd-
moments and exchange coupling constants among the Mo-Mo, Mo-Nd and Nd-Nd
moments, have been determined to reproduce various kinds of experimental data
taken as a function of H and T. For example, the neutron Bragg intensities,
magnetization curves and the magnetic specific heats have been reproduced by
the common parameters. By using the magnetic structure reproduced by these
parameters, the spin chirality (chi) of Mo spins or the fictitious magnetic
flux Phi proportional to chi has been calculated as a function of H and T by
using equation chi=, where the bracket means the statistical
average. (Note that we do not use the equation chi=x, because the
local nature of the chirality should be correctly considered.) Comparing the
calculated results with the observed rhoH, we can conclude that the unusual
behavior of rH cannot be understood consistently only by the chirality
mechanism.Comment: 16 pages, 12 fiures, submitted to J. Phys. Soc. Jp
Bonding machine for forming a solar array strip
A machine is described for attaching solar cells to a flexable substrate on which printed circuitry has been deposited. The strip is fed through: (1) a station in which solar cells are elevated into engagement with solder pads for the printed circuitry and thereafter heated by an infrared lamp; (2) a station at which flux and solder residue is removed; (3) a station at which electrical performance of the soldered cells is determined; (4) a station at which an encapsulating resin is deposited on the cells; (5) a station at which the encapsulated solar cells are examined for electrical performance; and (6) a final station at which the resulting array is wound on a takeup drum
Full electroweak radiative corrections to with GRACE-Loop
We present the full electroweak radiative corrections
to the process at the International
Linear Collider (ILC). The computation is performed with the help of the
GRACE-Loop system. We present the total cross-section and the top quark
forward-backward asymmetry () as a function of the center-of-mass
energy and compare them with the process . We
find that the value of in production is larger than
in production. It is an important result for the
measurement of the top quark forward-backward asymmetry at the ILC. Applying a
structure function method, we also subtract the QED correction to gain the
genuine weak correction in both the scheme and the scheme
(). We obtain numerical values for
which are changing from 2% to -24% when we vary the center-of-mass energy from
360 GeV to 1 TeV.Comment: 13 pages, 9 figure
A compact representation of the 2 photon 3 gluon amplitude
A compact representation of the loop amplitude gamma gamma ggg -> 0 is
presented. The result has been obtained by using helicity methods and sorting
with respect to an irreducible function basis. We show how to convert spinor
representations into a field strength representation of the amplitude. The
amplitude defines a background contribution for Higgs boson searches at the LHC
in the channel H -> gamma gamma + jet which was earlier extracted indirectly
from the one-loop representation of the 5-gluon amplitude.Comment: 15 pages Latex, 6 eps files included, revised versio
Anomalous Hall effect as a probe of the chiral order in spin glasses
Anomalous Hall effect arising from the noncoplanar spin configuration
(chirality) is discussed as a probe of the chiral order in spin glasses. It is
shown that the Hall coefficient yields direct information about the linear and
nonlinear chiral susceptibilities of the spin sector, which has been hard to
obtain experimentally from the standard magnetic measurements. Based on the
chirality scenario of spin-glass transition, predictions are given on the
behavior of the Hall resistivity of canonical spin glasses.Comment: Order estimate of the effect given, one reference added. To appear in
