    Efficiency of endodontic treatmentin the medication ofchronic destructive apical periodontitis

    Rezumat Examenul clinic şi paraclinic (radiografie direcționată şi ortopantomografie) a 102 pacienţi (143 dinţi permanenţi) cu periodontită cronică osteo — distructivă a demonstrat că, AH plus utilizat în calitate de siller, administrat cu gutaperca fierbinte termoplastificată Gutta core utilizat în calitate de filler, este o metodă de obturare a canalelor radiculare net superioară, comparativ cu Endofill şi Endomethasone în calitate de siller, administrate cu conuri de gutapercă — filler, prin metoda de condensare laterală. Rezultatele au fost confirmate prin examinări clinice şi paraclinice repetate până la iniţierea tratamentului, la 3 luni, 6 luni şi după 12 luni din momentul finisării tratmentului endodontic.Summary Clinical and radiological examination (periapical view and panoramic film) of 102 patients (143 permanent teeth) with chronic destructive apical periodontitis proved that, AH plus used as a root canal sealer, administrated with thermo-plastified gutta-percha named Gutta Core used as filler, is the superior root canal obturation technique, compared to Endofill and Endomethasone as root canal sealers, administrated with gutta-percha fillers, in the lateral condensation technique. The results were confirmed by repetead clinical and radiological examinations from the start of the endodontic treatment, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months after the end of the endodontic treatment

    Catedra Stomatologie terapeutică FPMComparative study of 73 apical periodontitis cases of permanent teeth with unformed root treated with calcium hydroxid (32 pacients-35 teeth) and Bio-R (41 pacients-45 teeth) demonstrates that Bio-R preferentialy stimulates apexogenesis, but calcium hydroxid leads to apexifiation. The long-term treatment with calcium hydroxid, that leads to the brittlesness of the unformed and incompletly mineralized apex, concomitantly has been established. The results by repeated clinical and paraclinic examination till the initial treatament and after 12 monts from the endodontic treatament has been confirmed.     Rezumat. Studiul prezintă situaţia ştiinţifico-practică a folosirii remediilor antiseptice în endodonţia clinică la nivel interstatal si rezultatele obţinute de autori pe parcursul a 5 ani (2010—2015). În urma diagnosticării diferitor forme de pulpite şi periodontite apicale la 205 pacienţi şi tratamentului endodotic cu prelucrarea antiseptică a canalelor radiculare s-a demonstrat că cele mai simţitoare rezultate pozitive au prezentat hipocloridul de sodiu de 3% combinat cu clorhexidina 0,2%, sau soluţiei 15% EDTA urmată de apa oxigenată 3% sau Glyde.Summary. Scientific-practical study shows the use of antiseptics in endodontic clinic at interstate level and the results achieved by the practice over the last five years (2010—2015). After diagnosis of various forms of pulpitis and the apical periodontitis in 205 patients endodontic root canal treatment with antiseptics has shown that the most positive results came with the use of 3% sodium hypochlorite, with 0.2% Chlorhexidine or 15% EDTA (Edetic Acid), followed by 3% hydrogen peroxide or Glyde solution

    Synthesis, Characterization, and Biological Properties of the Copper(II) Complexes with Novel Ligand: N-[4-({2-[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbothioyl}amino)phenyl]acetamide

    For the first time, a thiosemicarbazone-type ligand containing a paracetamol structural unit was synthesized. Five new coordination compounds based on copper(II) salts: [Cu(L)CH3COO] (1), [{Cu(L)Cl}2]·H2O (2), [Cu(L)H2O·DMF]NO3 (3), [Cu(L)Br] (4), [Cu(L)H2O]ClO4 (5), were obtained, where HL is N-[4-({2-[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene]hydrazinecarbothioyl}amino)phenyl]acetamide. The new HL was characterized by NMR, FTIR, spectroscopy, and X-ray crystallography. All copper(II) coordination compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR, EPR spectroscopy, and molar electrical conductivity. Furthermore, single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis elucidated the structures of thiosemicarbazone HL as well as complexes 1–3. All compounds were tested for antimicrobial, antifungal, and antioxidant activities, and their toxicity to Daphnia magna was studied. Biological evaluation has revealed that most of the synthesized compounds demonstrate promising antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant activities. In many cases, their antibacterial/antifungal activity is comparable to that of certain drugs used in medicine for these purposes, and in some cases, even surpasses them. HL and complexes 2–5 exhibit antioxidant activity that surpasses that of Trolox. Furthermore, HL and complex 2 display virtually no toxicity to D. magna
