End-to-end Structure-Aware Convolutional Networks for Knowledge Base Completion
Knowledge graph embedding has been an active research topic for knowledge
base completion, with progressive improvement from the initial TransE, TransH,
DistMult et al to the current state-of-the-art ConvE. ConvE uses 2D convolution
over embeddings and multiple layers of nonlinear features to model knowledge
graphs. The model can be efficiently trained and scalable to large knowledge
graphs. However, there is no structure enforcement in the embedding space of
ConvE. The recent graph convolutional network (GCN) provides another way of
learning graph node embedding by successfully utilizing graph connectivity
structure. In this work, we propose a novel end-to-end Structure-Aware
Convolutional Network (SACN) that takes the benefit of GCN and ConvE together.
SACN consists of an encoder of a weighted graph convolutional network (WGCN),
and a decoder of a convolutional network called Conv-TransE. WGCN utilizes
knowledge graph node structure, node attributes and edge relation types. It has
learnable weights that adapt the amount of information from neighbors used in
local aggregation, leading to more accurate embeddings of graph nodes. Node
attributes in the graph are represented as additional nodes in the WGCN. The
decoder Conv-TransE enables the state-of-the-art ConvE to be translational
between entities and relations while keeps the same link prediction performance
as ConvE. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed SACN on standard
FB15k-237 and WN18RR datasets, and it gives about 10% relative improvement over
the state-of-the-art ConvE in terms of HITS@1, HITS@3 and [email protected]: The Thirty-Third AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence (AAAI

Non-classical non-Gaussian state of a mechanical resonator via selectively incoherent damping in three-mode optomechanical systems
We theoretically propose a scheme for the generation of a non-classical
single-mode motional state of a mechanical resonator (MR) in the three-mode
optomechanical systems, in which two optical modes of the cavities are linearly
coupled to each other and one mechanical mode of the MR is optomechanically
coupled to the two optical modes with the same coupling strength
simultaneously. One cavity is driven by a coherent laser light. By properly
tuning the frequency of the weak driving field, we obtain engineered
Liouvillian superoperator via engineering the selective interaction Hamiltonian
confined to the Fock subspaces. In this case, the motional state of the MR can
be prepared into a non-Gaussian state, which possesses the sub-Poisson
statistics although its Wigner function is positive.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure
Effect of temozolomide combined with radiotherapy on survival and MGMT protein expression in recurrent malignant glioma patients
Purpose: To investigate the effect of temozolomide (TMZ) combined with radiotherapy (RT) on O-6- methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) protein and survival of recurrent malignant glioma patients.
Methods: Ninety-two patients with malignant glioma in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2015 were assigned to study and control groups using the random table method. Subjects in the control group received radiotherapy (total dose in the range of 60 – 75 Gy), while those in the study group were given TMZ orally (75 mg/m2) daily in addition to radiotherapy, as well as TMZ at 150 – 200 mg/m2. After treatment, clinical effectiveness was compared for the two groups. Changes in methylation of MGMT gene were determined in the two groups. The patients were followed up for 3 years, and the degrees of survival and recurrence were recorded.
Results: Total effectiveness of clinical treatment was markedly higher in the study group (76.09 %) than in the control group (45.65 %; p < 0.05). One month after radiotherapy, significant decrease in MGMT gene methylation was seen in patients in the study group, relative to control patients (p < 0.05). Patients in the study group had lower median recurrence but higher degree of survival in the 2nd and 3rd years, relative to control patients (p < 0.05).
Conclusion: The combination of temozolomide and radiotherapy is more effective than radiotherapy in the treatment of recurrent malignant glioma. The combined treatment significantly inhibits tumor recurrence in patients, and improves their prognosis and standard of life
Amplification of rotation velocity using weak measurements in Sagnac's interferometer
We study the amplification of rotation velocity with the Sagnac
interferometer based on the concept of weak-value amplification. By using a
different scheme to perform the Sagnac interferometer with the probe in
momentum space, we have demonstrated the new weak measure protocol to detect
the small rotation velocity by amplifying the phase shift of the Sagnac effect.
At the given the maximum incident intensity of the initial spectrum, the
detection limit of the intensity of the spectrometer and the accuracy of
angular velocity measurement, we can theoretical give the appropriate
potselection and the minimum of optical path area before experiment. In
addition, we put forward a new optical design to increase the optical path area
and decrease the size of the interferometer to overcome the limit of instrument
size. Finally, our modified Sagnac's interferometer based on weak measurement
is innovative and efficient probing the small rotation velocity signal.Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1203.0827 by other author
