Irregular and multi--channel sampling of operators
The classical sampling theorem for bandlimited functions has recently been
generalized to apply to so-called bandlimited operators, that is, to operators
with band-limited Kohn-Nirenberg symbols. Here, we discuss operator sampling
versions of two of the most central extensions to the classical sampling
theorem. In irregular operator sampling, the sampling set is not periodic with
uniform distance. In multi-channel operator sampling, we obtain complete
information on an operator by multiple operator sampling outputs
A Study on Apparel Design for Chiropractic Training
In severe cases of spinal misalignment due to wrong back posture during adolescence or focusing on work, modern people can have back pain. Such a symptom is commonly referred to as scoliosis and it already became one of the lifestyle diseases. Hence, the purpose of the present study was to develop a functional musculoskeletal correction wear that can help with maintaining a correct posture by relaxing tonic muscles and maximizing the tension of the relaxed muscle using the principle of sports taping.
Market research for design development was conducted at department stores and specialty road shops separately. Department stores were visited on weekdays when the store is not crowded, and specialty road shops were visited at around three o’clock on weekdays after checking their opening, lunch, and closing times. Since the apparel should not interfere with exercise movements while maintaining the body shape, the survey was carried out mostly on yoga and lifestyle training apparel focusing on elasticity and percentage of blending fiber. A camera and audio recorder were prepared and took pictures of clothing tags that show the ratio of polyester and spandex while trying on and checking products at the stores. Data were collected by asking the staff at road specialty shops who has more professional knowledge about the advantages and functions of the existing products and recording their answers. Point color schemes in black color family in which body shapes can look beautiful were mostly checked. Due to the design characteristics that have to maintain the spine, the designs of all-in-one products that can maintain the upper and lower torsos were checked at underwear stores.
The existing products were evaluated for their designs to be adopted including the material, integrated into the new design, and then modified and supplemented, and the following chiropractic apparel design was drawn (Table 1). An all-in-one design that wraps around the hips and upper thighs for easy counterbalancing between the upper and lower body was chosen. A design with an accent line that makes body shape looks beautiful and Used compression wear material that is comfortable for activities and presses tight against the skin. Activates the muscle activities of latissimus dorsi muscle using taping method, and provides tension to maintain correct posture of round back and shoulders. In conclusion, prevention, exercise, and stretching are important for scoliosis and sound posture for the loin should be constantly maintained. To that end, not only the proper use of chairs but also apparel that is worn all the time can be helpful
Protein-Ligand Interactions at Poly(amidoamine) Dendrimer Monolayers on Gold
Avidin-biotin interactions as a typical protein-ligand model were investigated on the monolayers of a fourth-generation poly(amidoamine) dendrimer that were constructed on the self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of 11-mercaptoundecanoic acid (MUA) on gold. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopic analysis revealed a resonance angle shift of 0.34°( 0.03°for the formation of dendrimer monolayers on reactive SAMs, which indicates that about 89% of the gold surface is covered with dendrimer molecules. The dendrimer monolayers were functionalized with biotin, and the efficacy of dendrimer monolayers as a biomolecular interface was evaluated in terms of the surface density of biotin ligands and the avidin binding level. For comparisons, the mixed SAMs and polymeric layers of poly-L-lysine (PLL) on MUA SAMs were prepared and examined by a similar procedure. The specific binding of avidin to the biotinylated dendrimer monolayers approached a surface density of 5.0 ( 0.2 ng‚mm -2 , which corresponds to about 88% surface coverage by avidin, showing a much higher level than those from mixed SAMs (2.3 ( 0.1 ng‚mm -2 ) and PLL layers (3.2 ( 0.2 ng‚mm -2 ). Interestingly, the fully biotinylated dendrimer monolayers gave rise to efficient avidin-biotin interactions, resulting in about 80% of the maximum avidin binding level, even under the condition that a serious steric hindrance would occur due to densely packed biotin ligands. These results strongly imply that efficient avidin-biotin interaction originates from a structural feature of dendrimer monolayers such as a surface exposure of derivatized biotin ligands and a corrugated surface
Enhancement of carbamazepine removal rate using Tetradesmus obliquus KNUA061 and NaOCl and utilization of the resulting biomass
Pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) are discharged into receiving water bodies mainly from sewage treatment plants. Due to the inefficient removal in conventional wastewater treatment facilities, PPCPs have become a major concern to aquatic ecosystems, water quality, and public health worldwide since they cause harmful effects on aquatic life and human even at low doses. Among the PPCPs, carbamazepine (CBZ) is one of the most commonly prescribed anticonvulsant drugs and consumed more than 1,000 tons per year. Due to its structural complexity, CBZ is known as recalcitrant compound highly stable during wastewater treatment. Consequently, it has become one of the most frequently detected pharmaceuticals in waste water, surface water, and even drinking water. In this study, Korean indigenous microalgae strains were tested as eco-friendly and cost-effective solutions for CBZ removal. Based on the preliminary biological CBZ degradation tests, Tetradesmus obliquus KNUA061 demonstrating the best CBZ removal rate was selected for further experiments. In order to increase strain KNUA061's CBZ removal efficiency, NaOCl, which is widely accepted in the water purification process, was used as an additional stimulus to induce stress conditions. At around 20 μg L−1 CBZ, addition of 1.0 mg NaOCl resulted in approximately 20% of removal rate increase without suppressing cells growth. Roughly 90% of CBZ remained its original form and the composition of the transformed secondary metabolites was less than 10% during the biodegradation process by the microalga. Based on the results of the antioxidant enzyme activities, degree of lipid oxidation, and amino acid contents, it was concluded that the redox-defence system in microalgal cells may have been activated by the NaOCl treatment. Biomass analysis results showed that higher heating value (HHV) of strain KNUA061 biomass was higher than those of lignocellulosic energy crops suggesting that it could be utilized as a possible renewable energy source. Even though its biodiesel properties were slightly below the international standards due to the high PUFA contents, the biodiesel produced from T. obliquus KNUA061 could be used as a blending resource for transportation fuels. It was also determined that the microalgal biomass has acceptable feasibility as a sustainable dietary supplement feedstock due to its high essential amino acid contents
High-fidelity 3D Human Digitization from Single 2K Resolution Images
High-quality 3D human body reconstruction requires high-fidelity and
large-scale training data and appropriate network design that effectively
exploits the high-resolution input images. To tackle these problems, we propose
a simple yet effective 3D human digitization method called 2K2K, which
constructs a large-scale 2K human dataset and infers 3D human models from 2K
resolution images. The proposed method separately recovers the global shape of
a human and its details. The low-resolution depth network predicts the global
structure from a low-resolution image, and the part-wise image-to-normal
network predicts the details of the 3D human body structure. The
high-resolution depth network merges the global 3D shape and the detailed
structures to infer the high-resolution front and back side depth maps.
Finally, an off-the-shelf mesh generator reconstructs the full 3D human model,
which are available at https://github.com/SangHunHan92/2K2K. In addition, we
also provide 2,050 3D human models, including texture maps, 3D joints, and SMPL
parameters for research purposes. In experiments, we demonstrate competitive
performance over the recent works on various datasets.Comment: code page : https://github.com/SangHunHan92/2K2K, Accepted to CVPR

Clinicopathological Risk Factors and Biochemical Predictors of Safe Discharge after Total Thyroidectomy and Central Compartment Node Dissection for Thyroid Cancer: A Prospective Study
To determine the clinicopathological risk factors and reliable biochemical predictors of the development of hypocalcemic symptoms after total thyroidectomy on the basis of serum calcium and intact parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels measured 1 hour after surgery, a prospective study was performed on 817 patients who underwent a total thyroidectomy with central compartment node dissection (CCND) due to well-differentiated thyroid cancer. We evaluated the correlations between hypocalcemic symptom development and clinicopathological factors. And the predictability for hypocalcemic symptom development of intact PTH cut-offs (<10 pg/mL and <20 pg/mL, resp.) according to serum calcium level subgroup was analyzed. Female gender (P<0.001) was the only independent risk factor for hypocalcemic symptom development in multivariate regression analysis. The negative predictive value (NPV) of intact PTH, signifying nondevelopment of hypocalcemic symptoms, was higher than the positive predictive value (PPV) which signified development of hypocalcemic symptoms. In addition, when we applied the different adoption of the intact PTH cut-off according to serum calcium level, we could obtain more increased NPVs. A female gender and the application of more specific cut-offs for intact PTH according to the serum calcium levels measured 1 hour after surgery may help the patients to be more safely discharged
