Profesionalización empresarial en empresas familiares: una construcción teórica

La empresa familiar es una de las organizaciones productivas con mayor presencia en el mundo, sin embargo, tiene una estructura particular, ya que en ella se conjugan dos sistemas con lógicas distintas: la familia y la empresa. La primera actúa en pro del bienestar del grupo familiar, y la segunda, responde a criterios de racionalidad económica. En la actualidad, estas organizaciones se enfrentan a importantes retos, uno derivado de la esfera externa, que guarda relación con el proceso de globalización, el cual exige a las empresas un mayor nivel de competitividad; y otro propiciado por su dinámica interna, como lo es lograr el balance entre los intereses y objetivos de la empresa y la familia. Por tanto, la profesionalización empresarial surge como una alternativa para enfrentar o paliar dichas disyuntivas y alcanzar la longevidad de las mismas. De allí que el presente libro exponga los hallazgos derivados de la investigación que lo gestó, que tuvo como objetivo construir un sistema teórico que fundamente el proceso de profesionalización empresarial en las empresas de carácter familiar. El enfoque epistemológico seguido es el empírico–inductivo, el tipo de investigación siguiendo la estructura diacrónica del proceso de investigación transita por la fases descriptiva, y la explicativa–contrastiva. La población objeto de estudio está constituida por las cadenas de hipermercados y supermercados familiares en Venezuela, de cuyo comportamiento y visión se derivó como resultado fundamental un sistema teórico que orientará la consecución de la profesionalización en las empresas familiares. Con esta finalidad tendrán que crear las estructuras de gobierno y gestión empresarial, mediante la formalización de sistemas, órganos, prácticas y políticas que regulen el desempeño en materia organizativa, recursos humanos, estructuras de gobierno corporativo y herramientas tecnológicas de apoyo a la gerencia.The family business is one of the productive organizations with greater presence in the world, however, it has a particular structure, since it combines two systems with different logics: the family and the company. The first acts for the welfare of the family group, and the second, responds to criteria of economic rationality. Currently, these organizations face important challenges, one derived from the external sphere, which is related to the process of globalization, which requires companies a greater level of competitiveness; and another one propitiated by its internal dynamics, as it is to achieve the balance between the interests and objectives of the company and the family. Therefore, business professionalization emerges as an alternative to face or mitigate these dilemmas and achieve the longevity of them. Hence, the present book exposes the findings derived from the research that created it, which aimed to build a theoretical system that supports the process of business professionalization in family businesses. The epistemological approach followed is the empirical-inductive, the type of research following the diachronic structure of the research process transits through the descriptive phases, and the explanatory-contrastive one. The population under study is constituted by chains of hypermarkets and family supermarkets in Venezuela, whose behavior and vision was derived as a fundamental result a theoretical system that will guide the achievement of professionalization in family businesses. To this end they will have to create the structures of governance and business management, through the formalization of systems, bodies, practices and policies that regulate organizational performance, human resources, corporate governance structures and technological tools to support management

Compromiso del Estado frente a la protección social en salud de las etnias

The objective of this scientific paper is to analyze the social protection of ethnic group´s health within the framework of law “100” of 1993 and law “691” of 2001. The methodology focuses on a hermeneutic documentary type qualitative approach, applying the technique of documentary analysis, using observation and bibliographic review as instruments for data collection. Among results, the following stands out: the administrative-technical overdesign of Colombia’s health system acts as a hurdle for the effective care and access to social protection for the health of ethnic groups; likewise, poor health care coverage that ignores ancient traditions and the social and cultural characteristics of these ethnic environments. This paper originality and contributions are centered on the socio-legal approach to public law and to ethnic group´s social security, taking into account sociodemographic and physiological conditions, as well as, health determinants. In conclusion, it is pertinent to highlight the existing tension when applying, by constitutional and legal mandate within the model of Social State of Law, Colombia’s ethnic special protection regime, which considers geographic, sociocultural, political, financial, health, administrative factors and the little to no intervention by the state to enforce the already established mandatory ethnic health plans. Finally, it is important and necessary to point out the need to carry out reforms to the mandatory health plan taking biopsychosocial diversity of ethnic groups into account.El presente artículo científico tiene como objetivo analizar la protección social en salud de las etnias en el marco de la Ley 100 de 1993 y la Ley 691 de 2001. La ruta metodológica se fundamenta en el enfoque cualitativo, de tipo documental hermenéutico, aplicando la técnica del análisis documental, y como instrumentos para la recolección de información la observación y la revisión bibliográfica. Entre los principales resultados destaca: El sobre diseño técnico administrativo que tiene el sistema de salud en Colombia constituye un obstáculo para la efectiva atención y acceso a la protección social en salud de las etnias; asimismo la escasa atención diferenciada en salud, ignorando costumbres ancestrales, características del entorno social y cultural de estos pueblos. La originalidad y aportes se centra en el abordaje socio jurídico del derecho público y la seguridad social en salud de las etnias, considerando particularidades sociodemográficas, fisiológicas, y elementos determinantes de la salud. Como conclusión es pertinente resaltar la tensión existente en la aplicación del régimen de la especial protección de las etnias en Colombia, por mandato constitucional y legal dentro del modelo de Estado Social de Derecho, que considera factores geográficos, socioculturales, políticos, sanitarios, financieros - administrativos, y la poca intervención del Estado en los contenidos de los planes obligatorios étnicos. Finalmente, es menester señalar la necesidad de realizar reformas a los planes obligatorios de salud adaptados a la diversidad biopsicosocial de las etnias

El proceso migratorio en el audiovisual joven cubano. / The migratory process in young Cuban audiovisuals.

Part of the historical memory of the Cuban migratory process is reconstructed from the audiovisual made by Cuban young filmmakers. In this article the authors propose a qualitative interpretation of the audiovisual symbolic construction of the Cuban migratory process, based on the qualitative analysis of a selection of award-winning films at the ICAIC Youth Exhibition. The research referred to multiple edges of the phenomenon; in this case, not only limited to the always singular and circular process of migration, but to the act of creating, and to what a cultural movement may or may not mean in the creative, cultural and symbolic field of a nation. The context in which the analyzed films take place was described, as well as the distinctive characteristics of the cultural event in which these films are released. When approaching the sample selection, it was possible to find areas of encounters and coincidences, both aesthetic and narrative, of the filmmakers, as well as differences. On the other hand, a profile of the Cuban migrant was outlined, endorsed in the audiovisual representation. / RESUMEN Parte de la memoria histórica del proceso migratorio cubano se reconstruye desde el audiovisual realizado por jóvenes de la Isla. En el presente artículo se propone una interpretación cualitativa en torno a la construcción simbólica audiovisual del proceso migratorio cubano, a partir del análisis cualitativo de una selección de filmes premiados en la Muestra Joven ICAIC. La investigación se remitió a múltiples aristas del fenómeno; en este caso, no únicamente ceñido al proceso siempre singular y circular de la migración, sino al acto de crear y a lo que un movimiento cultural puede o no significar en el campo creativo, cultural y simbólico de una nación. Se describió el contexto en el que se desarrollan los filmes analizados, así como las características distintivas del evento cultural en el que se dan a conocer dichos filmes. Al abordar la selección muestral fue posible encontrar áreas de encuentros y coincidencias ―tanto estéticas como narrativas― de los realizadores, así como divergencias. Por otra parte, se esbozó un perfil del migrante cubano, según los audiovisuales de referencia

Environmental impact on exports of family Enterprises of The Zulia State, Venezuela

Este artículo tiene como objetivo determinar los factores del entorno empresarial que afectan la dinámica internacional de las empresas familiares venezolanas. El fundamento teórico empleado es la teoría institucional y neoinstitucional. El estudio es descriptivo, y aplicó una entrevista a veintidós empresas ubicadas en la región zuliana. Se constata una baja motivación exportadora de los empresarios familiares, atribuible a la evolución de las variables económicas como inflación, tipo de cambio y tasa impositiva; mientras que en el plano político y social, la inseguridad jurídica y personal, así como el clima de conflictividad constituyen los elementos que más frenan tal proceso.This article aims to determinate the business environment factors affecting the international dynamics of the Venezuelan family companies. The theoretical rationale employed is institutional and neo-institutional theory. The study is descriptive, and applied an interview with twentytwo companies located in the zulian region. There is a low motivation exporting family entrepreneurs, attributable to the evolution of economic variables such as inflation, exchange rate and tax rate; While at the political and social level, legal insecurity and staff, as well as the climate of conflict constitute the elements that slow down this process

Analysis of patterns in the university world rankings webometrics, Shanghai, QS and SIR-SCimago: case Latin America

The internationalization and positioning of universities offers relative comparisons, studied according to different teaching and research criteria. Among the recognized rankings are the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) or Ranking of Shanghai, QS World University Ranking, SCimago Institutions Rankings SIR and the Web Ranking of Universities-Webometrics. Comparatively, characteristics of each one are presented in terms of scope, volume of universities positioned and evaluation criteria. The indicators associated with research and institutional capacity stand out as common criteria in the revised evaluation methodologies. Regarding Latin America, Brazil leads with its presence in the four rankings. There is a greater number of Latin American universities in QS (40%) and Webometrics (31%), in the other two rankings it does not exceed 8%

Contextual factors that influence the entrepreneurship of family businesses in Venezuela

Este artículo constituye una reflexión sobre aspectos contextuales que inciden en el desarrollo del espíritu emprendedor del empresario de carácter familiar en Venezuela. La metodología se fundamentó en el análisis de fuentes documentales. Los resultados develan que existen serias limitaciones que disminuyen el dinamismo empresarial, como: regulaciones de precios, tipo de cambio, marco jurídico laboral, excesivos trámites administrativos y deficiencias en los servicios públicos. Frente a este escenario, existen oportunidades que se derivan de la disminución de las importaciones, que han dejado una demanda insatisfecha que posibilita la apertura de nuevas empresas que deberán operar en condiciones de alta incertidumbre.This article is a reflection on contextual aspects that affect the entrepreneurial spirit of the family entrepreneur in Venezuela. The methodology was based on the analysis of documentary sources. The results reveal that there are serious limitations that diminish the business dynamism, such as: price regulations, exchange rate, labor legal framework, excessive administrative procedures and deficiencies in public services. Faced with this scenario, there are opportunities that are derived from the decrease in imports, which have left an unmet demand that allows the opening of new companies that must operate in conditions of high uncertainty

Dividend decisions in family hypermarkets and supermarkets in Zulia State, Venezuela

Este artículo tiene como objetivo determinar la injerencia de la familia sobre las decisiones de dividendos aplicadas por las cadenas de hipermercados y supermercados familiares en el estado Zulia, Venezuela. El diseño de investigación es no experimental de campo, con un tipo de estudio descriptivo, mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario a los propietarios o administradores de dichas empresas. Los resultados muestran como la decisión de dividendos está marcada por la cultura característica de este tipo de empresas, proclive a la reinversión de beneficios, siempre que no exista una demanda familiar con base en sus necesidades que conlleve a la exigencia de distribución de dividendos; por lo que se concluye que la toma de decisiones es influida por la visión y comportamientos de los miembros de la familia propietaria de estas empresasThis article has as an objective to determine the meddling of the family over the dividend decisions applied by the chains of hypermarkets and family supermarkets that are located in Zulia State, Venezuela. The design of this investigation is of non-experimental field, the study design is descriptive, by applying a questionnaire to the owners or to the administrators of these companies. Results show that dividend decisions are characterized by the culture that these type of companies have, prone to the reinvestment of the incomes, as long as there is not a family demand based in their necessities leading to dividend distribution; so we can conclude that decision making is influenced by the vision and behavior of the members of these family owned companies
