Digital games are used often in many areas as tools able to teach something. Also in business process management there are some proposals of training stakeholders and simulate process models from the use of digital games. In contrast of that (use games to support teaching and learning), this paper argues the opportunity of the use of process models into some moment of digital game design. Thus, this paper aims to show the results of a systematic mapping of the literature in order to seek and analyze researches about that. Beyond that, with the searches findings, check the context where the process models were applied. As conclusions, are presented some opportunities and a research agenda to business process and game design area

The emergence of Internet has revolutionized the way people communicate. However, due to the large number of websites available, web users usually feel lost and very often frustrated for not achieving their goals. This paper aims to develop a model which is capable of evaluating the level of flexibility and efficiency of the Globo.com portal, as one of the usability metrics considered by Nielsen. Forty one attributes were assessed based on the opinions of 10 developers and 8 users of the Globo.com portal. The fuzzy set theory was the tool used to address uncertainties. As a result, a Flexibility and Efficiency Index of the Portal was obtained and some changes are recommended to improve its use.O surgimento da Internet revolucionou a forma das pessoas se comunicarem.

The Play Your Process Method for Business Process-Based Digital Game Design

Serious games have been understood as a useful tool to engage, educate and train individuals in many areas. They are also suitable for the business processes management area where it is expected that business-process-based digital games can bring together players (process actors) to better understand and learn organizational business processes. This paper presents a game design method for the development of serious games which aims to provide business process understanding to players, as well as to allow them to reflect on process challenges and difficulties. The design of serious business process games requires game designers to have business process modeling skills and instructions on how to represent business process elements in the game context. This research was conducted using the Design Science Research Methodology, and addresses the challenge of providing a method for the design of serious business process games. The method receives business process models as input and comprises steps to (i) map business process elements into game design elements, game design and development, and (ii) evaluate games with game designers, process actors, and game players. In order to validate the method, a set of games was built and evaluated with players. The designed games were evaluated as to adequate quality, although fun and entertainment can still be improved, and playersÂŽ understanding regarding process increase after games are playe

The process of designing a game involves many phases. We can summarize the work of the game designer as satisfactorily converting the idea in their mind to a digital game, which is not a simple task. Therefore, game designers should have a variety of tools to assist them. However, there are not that many specialized tools to support the game design process. Herein, we describe the experience of using Pegasus to design a part of a game. We propose an environment to simulate progression games based on game design patterns. Thus, we described the interaction of the game designer with Pegasus in such an environment, in order to support the process of creating, testing, and refining game elements before proceeding to the programming phase. Each configuration of the game elements corresponded to a simulation that could be performed multiple times, like in discrete event simulation. The results showed that Pegasus has the potential to support game design. Additionally, we presented some support components that were created to facilitate the use of the tool
