Low x_{bj} DIS, QCD and Generalized Vector Dominance

We give a brief overview on the present status of Generalized Vector Dominance as appplied to vector-meson production and the total photoabsorption cross section in the region of small x_{bj}. We comment on how GVD originates from QCD notions such as color transparency.Comment: 5 pages, latex, 2 postscript figure

The Role of Economic Analysis in Shaping Environmental Policy

    Get PDF
The experience of the US in using economic analysis to develop environmental policy is examined. Regulatory actions needed to create environmental benefits often impose substantial costs--both direct costs and indirect effects on other social goals--so it is important to consider all the effects of proposed initiatives Before imposing regulations

Interlaced dense point and absolutely continuous spectra for Hamiltonians with concentric-shell singular interactions

We analyze the spectrum of the generalized Schrodinger operator in L2(Rν)ν2L^2(R^\nu) \nu \geq 2, with a general local, rotationally invariant singular interaction supported by an infinite family of concentric, equidistantly spaced spheres. It is shown that the essential spectrum consists of interlaced segments of the dense point and absolutely continuous character, and that the relation of their lengths at high energies depends on the choice of the interaction parameters; generically the p.p. component is asymptotically dominant. We also show that for ν=2\nu=2 there is an infinite family of eigenvalues below the lowest band.Comment: LaTeX, 18 page
