    THE EFFECT OF COOPERATIVE INTEGRATED READING AND COMPOSITION (CIRC) TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL

    AbstractThe aim of this research is to compare the effect of two methods in improving students’ writing skill. Those were between conventional method that was usually used in that school and Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) technique. This research was conducted at SMAN 15 Tangerang by using experimental research. The population of the research was 321 students and the sample was 76 students from the tenth grade. The data collected by the pre test, treatment and post test. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. The result of the research showed that t count (2,72) was higher than ttable (2). It could be concluded that there was a significant effect of Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC)Technique in teaching writing recount text on the students’ writing skill. Then, CIRC technique could help students to focus and develop their product writing.Keywords: Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition, CIRC, experimental research, writing skillAbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan efektifitas dua metode pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis siswa, yaitu antara metode konvensional dan Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC). Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMAN 15 Tangerang dengan metode penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 321 siswa kelas sepuluh dan 76 siswa dipilih sebagai sampel. Data penelitian ini dieoleh dari pre test, perlakuan, dan post-test. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis menggunakan t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa thitung (2,72) lebih tinggi dari ttabel (2). Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) memberikan efek signifikan tuntuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis teks recount pada siswa.     WATCHING ENGLISH MOVIE ON IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY

    This research aims to investigate whether there is a significant effect of watching English movie on improving students’ ability to write a narrative text at the tenth-grade students. This research used quasi experimental method. Sample of the study consisted of 76 students. The sampling technique was used random sampling. In this research, the researcher used to watch English movie to improve students’ writing ability to trigger ideas. This research consisted of three stages. The first stage was pre-test giving stage. The second was treatment implementation stage, namely watching English movie   as a technique in experiment class and without watching English movie in controlled class. The third was post-test giving stage. The type of the research was written test. To validate the instrument, the writer asked an expert to validate its content. This instrument was said valid. Then, the results of both classes were analyzed by using t-test. The study findings revealed that there were significant differences between the mean scores attained by the experimental class and control class. Post intervention data indicated a remarkable increase in the experimental class’ achievement in writing ability with the result found that tobserved > ttable for the significant level (0,025), 2,72 > 2. So, Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepeted. It means that there is significant effect of watching English movie on improving students’ ability to write a narrative text at the tenth grade of SMAN 12 Kabupaten Tangerang in academic year 2021/202

    THE EFFECT OF JIGSAW TECHNIQUE ON STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL

    This research was to understand whether there is a major effect of Jigsaw technique on improving students’ writing ability to write down a narrative text at the tenth grade at SMAN 15 Tangerang. This research used quantitative method with quasi experimental design. The population of the research was the tenth grade that consisted of X.1-X.8. Both of classes were selected into two classes with purposive sampling, one class as experiment class and one class else as control class because the comparison result among both of class. They were X-8 as experiment class and X-7 as controlled class. The data was collected by the pre-test, treatment and post-test. The data was analyzed by using t-test formula. The results of the research showed that t count (2,21) was above than ttable (1,67). It might be concluded that there was a significance effect of Jigsaw Technique in teaching writing narrative text on the students’ writing ability.     The Effect of Using Quizizz toward Students’ Grammatical Understanding

    This research aimed to know whether there was a significant effect of using Quizizz toward Students’ Grammatical Understanding at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 108 Jakarta in Academic Year 2020/2021. The research was conducted from April 9, 2021 until April 30, 2021. This research used an experimental method, 36 students of “8-C” class as a sample, which was determined by the English teacher herself and this research used a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The writer collected the data using students’ tests that there were pretest-posttest and observation sheet of Learning Process. The data were analyzed by mean, and Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The statistical results showed that there was a significant and has a positive effect of using Quizizz on the students’ grammatical understanding at the Eighth Grade of SMPN 108 Jakarta in Academic Year 2020/2021 and the result of the observation sheet of learning process showed that the writer succeeded when did the learning process by using Quizizz in the class of “8-C” of SMPN 108 Jakarta in Academic Year 2020/2021. Therefore, it is recommended for teachers to use Quizizz as the alternative media in grammar teaching or English teaching and this research is expected to give information, model, or reference to be developed for further research

    The Correlation of Students’ Metacognitive and Critical Thinking with Writing Skills

    ABSTRACT The present research was to investigate the correlation of students’ metacognitive and critical thinking with writing skills. This research used correlation study. In collecting the data, 15 questions of questionnaire were provided. There are 7 questionnaires for metacognitive  and 8 questionnaires for critical thinking. The written test was gotten by the students’ assessment that the researcher received from the lecturer of Writing 2 in class A, B, and C. The sample was taken by three classes consist of 71 students that had been choosing. The result of research found out  that there was not any significant correlation of students’ metacognitive with writing skills. Then, there was not any significant correlation of students’ critical thinking with writing skills. Form on the valuation of the research simultaneous, Fcount< Ftable (0.749 < 3.29). It can be sum up that there was not any simultaneous of students’ metacognitive and critical thinking with writing skills. In accordance with the hypothesis, the researcher summarized that those variables were not correlating between students’ metacognitive and critical thinking with writing skills

Metode yang dilakukan yaitu obeservasi, menyebarkan questionare sebagai need analysis kemudian melakukan pendampingan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan mendongeng melalui buku cerita. Hasil kegiatan Pengabdiana kepada Masyarakat menunjukan bahwa terdapat kemajuan dari hari kehari, yang sebelumnya anak-anak malu-malu untuk bercerita di depan teman-temannya dihari berikutnya mulai memiliki rasa keberanian untuk bercerita didepan teman-teman.     The purpose of this study is to know how the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka in English subject at SDIT AL-Kautsar Kota Tangerang. This research used descriptive qualitative method to know how the implementation of Kurikulum Merdeka on learning and the approach between teachers and students at SDIT AL-Kautsar. The object of this research is English teacher and 6 students' consisting of 4 male students and 2 female students at SDIT AL Kautsar Kota Tangerang. According to the data obtained by interview with teacher and students'. The findings of the data analysis show that Kurikulum Merdeka is very good for teacher and students that makes students more active in the classroom and easier to understand the learning material provided by the teacher. Therefore, teachers and students strongly support the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka at SDIT AL Kautsar, because it can make students and teachers more active and there are no boundaries between teachers and student
