Cél: A rendvédelmi szakemberek edukációjának fontos területe a fizikai felkészítés. A klasszikus kiképzés ma már kiegészül a rendvédelmi testnevelés órákon átadott, edzéshez, életmódhoz kapcsolódó ismeretek közvetítésével. A következő lépés a technikai eszközök bevonása a felkészítésbe. Dolgozatunk célja, hogy bemutassuk a BEMER érterápiás eszközt és lehetséges alkalmazását a rendészeti szakemberek fizikai felkészítésében, rehabilitációjában. Módszertan: A BEMER érterápiás eszköz hatékonyságát klinikai kutatások bizonyítják. Alkalmas a sérülések utáni rehabilitációra is. Javasoljuk az eszköz rendszerbe állítását először a Nemzeti Közszolgálati Egyetemen, ahol az egyetemi polgárok számára tennénk elérhetővé ezeket a kezeléseket. Kutatásaink iránya, további okoseszközök (okosóra, testtömegösszetétel mérő, élettani adatokat regisztráló mellkaspánt stb.) beszerzése és használata, amelyek új utakat nyitnak meg a rendvédelmi szakemberek fizikai felkészítésének területén. | Aim: Physical training is an important area of law enforcement education. Classical training is now supplemented by the transfer of knowledge related to training and lifestyle in law enforcement physical education. The next step is to involve the technical tools in the preparation. The aim of our article is to present the BEMER vascular therapy device and its possible application in the physical training and rehabilitation of law enforcement professionals. Methodology: The effectiveness of the BEMER magnetic therapy device has been demonstrated by clinical research. It is currently used primarily in medicine (improving microcirculation, reducing pain, treating high blood pressure, bone fractures) and sports (warming up, preventing and treating injuries, and enhancing efficiency). In our article, as a method, we present the research found in the literature and related to our topic (the physical training of law enforcement professionals). Findings: Rehabilitation- and measuring devices previously used only in medicine have appeared in our daily lives. Their user-friendly design and safe operation allow anyone to use them under the guidance of a proper professional. We believe that smart devices, including BEMER, have a place in the training of law enforcement professionals. In our article, we present the areas where we consider the use of magnetic therapy effective. Value: In our opinion, BEMER helps to improve the physical performance of law enforcement workers. It is also suitable for rehabilitation after injuries. We recommend using the tool at the National Public Service University, where we could make these treatments available to the students. The direction of our research is the acquisition and use of additional smart devices (smartwatch, body mass meter, chest strap recording physiological data, etc.), which will open new avenues in the field of physical training of law enforcement professional

Our research is aimed to explore the sports motivation and sports consumption of the students of the University of Szeged, using the results of a questionnaire-based survey. We want to find answers to the question about the changes of sports activities done by the students of the University of Szeged in the past decade. In our research it is the recreational sports that are primarily considered, and, in connection with them we want to find out details concerning the level of students, the types of sports, the venues, the services and the organizational background they prefer. Also, we are eager to investigate and quantify gender-related differences in our group of respondents. Based on our research into specialist literature our hypotheses are as follow: (H1) The proportion of athletes who exercise at least 2-3 times a week has increased since the 2011 survey. Gender differences can be observed (H2) in the frequency of playing sports, (H3) in the choice of sports, (H4) in the motivation to start playing sports, (H5) in the current motivation to play sports, (H6) in the participation in sports communities, (H7) in the motivation to compete, (H8) in the organization of sports, (H9) regarding the location of sports, and (H10) in the aspects of the choice of sports services. We have found that the proportion of students who do physical exercises has doubled. The frequency of recreational activities in the group of women surpassed the same proportion identified in the group of men. Those types of sports and fitness in which the cost implications were lower proved to be the most popular with students. Women were less open to competitive sports than men. The aims of the majority of students included stress relief and the preservation of health. Three fourths of students organized their sports activities on their own, but while men tended to do sports in groups and sports communities, women, on the other hand, when doing sports preferred staying at home. When choosing a sports provider it was affordability and accessibility of the sports venue that played the most significant role for our respondents. In summary, it can be stated that our research has proven to provide significant data for the development of university sports in Szeged and, in general, in Hungary; in addition, it was and it is important in the area of health education of university students as well

Effects of high ambient temperature on fish sperm plasma membrane integrity and mitochondrial activity — A flow cytometric study

Local extreme climatic conditions occurring as a result of global climate change may interfere with the reproduction of animals. In the present study fish spermatozoa were incubated at different temperatures (20, 25, 30 and 40 °C) for 10 and 30 minutes, respectively and plasma membrane integrity and mitochondrial membrane potential changes were evaluated with flow cytometry using SYBR-14/PI and Mitotracker Deep Red FM fluorescent dyes. No significant differences were found in plasma membrane integrity at either incubation temperatures or time points. Mitotracker Deep Red FM histogram profiles indicating mitochondrial activity showed significant (p < 0.001) alterations in all cases of higher (25, 30 and 40 °C) temperature treatments as compared to the samples incubated at 20 °C. Our results indicate that fish spermatozoa exposed to high temperatures suffer sublethal damage that cannot be detected with conventional, vital staining techniques

On the possible roles of N-terminal His-rich domains of Cu,Zn SODs of some Gram-negative bacteria

The Cu,Zn superoxide dismutases (Cu,Zn SOD) isolated from some Gram-negative bacteria possess a His-rich N-terminal metal binding extension. The N-terminal domain of Haemophilus ducreyi Cu,Zn SOD has been previously proposed to play a copper(II)-, and may be a zinc(II)- chaperoning role under metal ion starvation, and to behave as a temporary (low activity) superoxide dismutating center if copper(II) is available. The N-terminal extension of Cu,Zn SOD from Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae starts with an analogous sequence (HxDHxH), but contains considerably fewer metal binding sites. In order to study the possibility of the generalization of the above mentioned functions over all Gram-negative bacteria possessing His-rich N-terminal extension, here we report thermodynamic and solution structural analysis of the copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes of a peptide corresponding to the first eight amino acids (HADHDHKK-NH2, L) of the enzyme isolated from A. pleuropneumoniae. In equimolar solutions of Cu(II)/Zn(II) and the peptide the MH2L complexes are dominant in the neutral pH-range. L has extraordinary copper(II) sequestering capacity (KD,Cu = 7.4×10–13 M at pH 7.4), which is provided only by non-amide (side chain) donors. The central ion in CuH2L is coordinated by four nitrogens {NH2,3Nim} in the equatorial plane. In ZnH2L the peptide binds to zinc(II) through a {NH2,2Nim,COO–} donor set, and its zinc binding affinity is relatively modest (KD,Zn = 4.8×10–7 M at pH 7.4). Consequently, the presented data do support a general chaperoning role of the N-terminal His-rich region of Gram-negative bacteria in copper(II) uptake, but do not confirm similar function for zinc(II). Interestingly, the complex CuH2L has very high SOD-like activity, which may further support the multifunctional role of the copper(II)-bound N-terminal His-rich domain of Cu,Zn SODs of Gram-negative bacteria. The proposed structure for the MH2L complexes have been verified by semiempirical quantum chemical calculations (PM6), too
