Quality of translation via google translate in comedy texts

A translation process of considerable quality should possess the ability to effectively communicate a clear and definite meaning from the source language to the target language. While Google Translate serves as a useful tool for comprehending translated textual content in a general sense, it is important to note that automated machines still possess inherent weaknesses and limitations. The translation of jokes within comedic texts, particularly in relation to language and cultural differences, proves to be a challenging task. This research was undertaken utilizing a qualitative-descriptive approach, with the bilingual comedy book titled "Jokes in English-Book 1" serving as the subject of study. The primary objective of this research is to assess the level of translation quality achieved by machine translation in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability, and to compare these results with the translations provided in the bilingual book. The findings of this research indicate that 62.5% of the translations exhibit a high level of accuracy, while 37.5% are somewhat less accurate. Furthermore, 37.5% of the translations are deemed acceptable, while 62.5% are regarded as less acceptable. Finally, 37.5% of the translations demonstrate a high degree of readability, whereas 62.5% exhibit a moderate level of readability. Upon comparing the translation results obtained from Google Translate with the original translations presented in the bilingual book, it was determined that 100% of the translations in the book were found to be satisfactory in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability. Although the translations from English to Indonesian of comedy texts via Google Translate are deemed satisfactory, there is still room for improvement and ongoing development in order to enhance the quality of these translations

ANALYSIS OF MANAGEMENT STUDENTS UNDERSTANDING OF INTERLINGUAL TRANSLATION ABOUT SURAH AT-TAUBAH VERSE 60

Management students from universities that are affiliated to the Islamic religion must understand the verses from the Qur'an that explain zakat. In bilingual learning, the first language or in the case of zakat regarding Surah At-Taubah verse 60, Arabic will be a source of interference and errors if there are significant differences between different languages. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. The data was obtained by giving a test in the form of questions about interlingual translation to five management students who were chosen randomly in order to determine the level of understanding of Surah At-Taubah verse 60. The questions given were 8 types of zakat recipients according to the explanation by Zakky and Djayusman (2018) for translated, namely faqir, masakin, amil, Mua'alafah Qulubuhum, riqab, gharim, fi sabilillah and ibn sabil. All students managed to answer 8 questions about the recipients of zakat as stated in Surah At-Taubah verse 60 correctly interlingually so that the level of student understanding was successful.Kata Kunci:  At-Taubah; Interlingual; Management; dan Zaka

PELATIHAN PEMBUATAN AGAR-AGAR U TEUTOT REMPAH SEBAGAI SUPLEMEN DAYA TAHAN TUBUH PADA MASA COVID-19

U teutot is a typical drink passed down from generation to generation from the time of the Aceh sultanate. U (Coconut) as a basic material for PKM training is one of 17 plant species for Acehnese special food that comes from intensive cultivation. Perior's problems are the increasing need for immune supplements against the COVID-19 pandemic that is effective and has a selling value from ingredients that are easily obtained by PKK mothers in Gampong Bayeun, Birem Bayeun District, East Aceh Regency, especially coconut and spices and the lack of knowledge of PKK mothers in the use and process of entrepreneurship for immune supplements. Justification of Solutions to Partner Problems is training in making jelly from spice-roasted coconut as an immune supplement for PKK mothers in Bayeun Village during the COVID-19 outbreak and increasing the empowerment of mothers in the entrepreneurial process and making natural immune supplements in the form of jelly from spice-roasted coconut during the COVID-19 pandemic. Implementation methods are field survey, schedule determination, preparation, training, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Pelatihan Pembuatan Bubuk MPASI Organik Sebagai Pembudayaan Hidup Sehat di Aceh

MPASI merupakan proses transisi dari pemberian susu Ibu menjadi makanan padat. Mitra adalah Ibu PKK Manyak Payed, Aceh Timur. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra sehingga kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan yaitu: Meningkatnya kebutuhan MPASI yang berupa tepung dari bahan organik yang berdaya guna dan memiliki nilai jual dari bahan-bahan yang mudah diperoleh. Belum ada pembinaan dan sosialisasi pemerintah dalam pembinaan kewirausahaan yang berkaitan dengan produksi tepung MPASI berbahan organik dari kacang hijau dan beras merah. Minimnya pengetahuan Ibu PKK Manyak Payed dalam pemanfaatan dan proses berwirausaha terhadap tepung MPASI organik berbahan dasar kacang hijau dan beras merah. Justifikasi solusi atas permasalahan mitra: Pelatihan pembuatan tepung MPASI alami dari kacang hijau dan beras merah organik kepada Ibu PKK Manyak Payed sebagai pemberdayaan kreatif untuk proses berwirausaha secara home industry. Metode pendekatan berupa persiapan, penjelasan, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Hasil adalah kemampuan Ibu PKK untuk memproduksi tepung MPASI serta produk tepung MPASI berbahan dasar beras merah dan kacang hijau organik siap jual. Regulasi produk  dijual secara offline  yang dititip pada warung dan dijual secara online dengan cara diiklankan pada media sosial sehingga dapat meningkatkan pendapatan finansial pada mitra

PELATIHAN PERSIAPAN KULIAH KE LUAR NEGERI BAGI ALUMNI DAN MASYARAKAT

Kegiatan untuk melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri sangat didambakan dan menjadi primadona bagi kalangan masyarakat di Kota Langsa. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra yaitu alumni lulusan Universitas Samudra serta masyarakat kota langsa secara umum adalah kurangnya pengetahuan ataupun sosialisasi yang diadakan berkaitan dengan informasi baik dalam hal persiapan untuk pendaftaran, beasiswa yang tersedia beserta persyaratan dokumen untuk berangkat ke negara tujuan. Metode penyelesaian masalah  dalam menangani permasalahan mitra berkaitan dengan motivasi untuk dapat melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri adalah dengan melakukan pelatihan persiapan melanjutkan studi ke luar negeri secara formal dengan mengundang peserta mitra yang berasal dari alumni dan masyarakat di Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Samudra. Metode yang digunakan berupa tiga tahapan yaitu tahapan persiapan, tahapan pelaksanaan dan tahapan evaluasi. Hasil dari monitoring ini diperoleh telah ada mitra yang menembus beasiswa dan mayoritas masih berusaha untuk memilki persyaratan wajib berupa pemenuhan skors ambang batas persyaratan beasiswa dari tes TOEFL ITP

Identification of Ornamental Plants Via Google Lens Based on Intersemiotic

This research aims to develop a feasibility test and practical application of biology learning media technology, especially in terms of taxonomy introduction via google lens. The experimental method was used to collect identification data regarding intersemiotic translation of ornamental plants. The stage to find out the quality of intersemiotic translation of the research object using a google lens in the form of the general method of photo analysis in the use of google lens using the keys of google lens results evaluation method by Shapovalov et al. (2020). The research object which was taken randomly via google lens will be analyzed for information regarding three to six detected results to examine information about the object based on genus and species. The result is google lens can identify ornamental plants well. Intersemiotic translation results have been obtained in the seven plants as research objects. Five research objects have a score of 3 and two research objects get a score of 2 based on the keys of google lens results evaluation. The identification of ornamental plants from the photo is Aglaonema plant, Tillandsia Usneoides, Sansevieria Trifasciata, Aechmea chantinii, Neoregelia fireball, Neoregelia marmorata, and Calathea MakoyanaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan uji kelayakan dan penerapan praktis teknologi media pembelajaran biologi khususnya dalam hal pengenalan taksonomi melalui google lens. Metode eksperimen digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data identifikasi tentang terjemahan intersemiotik tanaman hias. Tahapan untuk mengetahui kualitas terjemahan intersemiotik objek penelitian menggunakan  google lens berupa metode umum analisis foto dalam penggunaan google lens berdasarkan  metode  kunci evaluasi hasil google lens  oleh Shapovalov et al. (2020). Objek penelitian yang diambil secara acak melalui google lens akan dianalisa tiga sampai enam hasil pencarian di internet yang terdeteksi untuk mengkaji informasi tentang objek berdasarkan genus dan spesies. Hasilnya  google lens dapat mengidentifikasi tanaman hias dengan baik. Telah diperoleh hasil terjemahan intersemiotik pada ketujuh tumbuhan sebagai objek penelitian. Lima objek penelitian mendapat skor 3 dan dua objek penelitian mendapatkan skor 2 berdasarkan kunci evaluasi hasil google lens. Identifikasi tanaman hias dari foto tersebut adalah tanaman Aglaonema, Tillandsia Usneoides, Sansevieria Trifasciata, Aechmea chantinii, Neoregelia fireball, Neoregelia marmorata, dan Calathea Makoyana

PELATIHAN TOEFL TPT BERBASIS POSTER STIKER UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN TES BERBAHASA INGGRIS BAGI ALUMNI TAHUN 2023

Ikatan Alumni FKIP  adalah mitra masa depan bangsa dengan membawa marwah fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan dimana almamater mereka berasal karena di era digital dan sulitnya menempuh dunia kerja maka sangat diperlukan skill berbahasa inggris agar dapat berkomunikasi secara international di era globalisasi. Permasalahan mitra yang sangat komplek adalah keterampilan bahasa inggris dalam hal skor TOEFL yang memadai untuk menempuh pekerjaan hanya aktif selama dua tahun. Metode pendekatan guna menyelesaikan permasalahan terdiri dari persiapan, penjelasan, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Justifikasi masalah yang telah diterima bersama antara tim dosen dan mitra adalah tim pengabdian akan memberikan pelatihan dan pengajaran dalam memanfaatkan bahasa inggris berbasis poster stiker pada alumni FKIP yang berkaitan dengan TOEFL TPT sebagai cara untuk membentuk skill berkomunikasi berbahasa internasional. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah setiap tahapan yang dilakukan dalam pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini terlaksana dengan aman, baik, dan harmonis. Instruktur dapat memberikan pengarahan dan pembelajaran yang menarik tentang tes TOEFL TPT melalui bantuan poster stiker yang berisikan informasi berupa trick dan kita dalam menyelesaikan te TOEFL TPT secara cermat, tepat dan muda
