Pulse Regulation Control Technique for Integrated High-Quality Rectifier-Regulators
The pulse regulation control scheme is presented and applied to the boost integrated flyback rectifier/energy storage dc/dc (BIFRED) converter as the most popular member of the integrated high-quality rectifier-regulators (IHQRR). In contrast to the conventional control techniques, the principal idea of pulse regulation is to regulate the output voltage using a series of high- and low-power pulses generated by the current of the input inductor, which is operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Analysis of the BIFRED converter operating in DCM is presented. Fundamentals of pulse regulation as well as its stability analysis and the estimation of the output voltage ripple are introduced. Experimental results on a prototype converter are also presented to validate the analytical and simulation results
Pulse Regulation Control Technique for Flyback Converter
Pulse regulation, a fixed frequency control technique, is introduced and applied to flyback converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). The control parameters are designed in a way that the converter operates as close as possible to the critical conduction mode. In contrast to the conventional pulse width modulation (PWM) control scheme, the principal idea of pulse regulation is to achieve output voltage regulation using high and low-power pulses. Pulse regulation is simple, cost effective, and enjoys a fast dynamic response. The proposed technique is applicable to any converter operating in DCM. However, this work mainly focuses on flyback topology. In this paper, the main mathematical concept of the new control algorithm is introduced and simulation as well as experimental results are presented
Estimative Current Mode Control Technique for DC-DC Converters Operating in Discontinuous Conduction Mode
A new control technique for DC-DC converters is introduced and applied to a boost converter operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). In contrast to conventional control methods, the principal idea of the proposed control scheme is to obtain samples of the required signals and estimate the required switch-on time. The proposed technique is applicable to any converter operating in DCM, including power factor correctors (PFC), however, this letter mainly focuses on boost topology. In this letter, the main mathematical concept of a new control algorithm is introduced, as well as the robustness investigation of the proposed method with simulation and experimental results
Carbon emissions Inventory Games
Carbon emissions reduction has been the center of attention in many organizations during the past few decades. Many international entities developed rules and regulations to monitor and control carbon emissions especially under supply chain context. Furthermore, researchers investigated techniques and methods on how reduce carbon emissions under operational adjustment which can be done by cooperation or coordination. The main contribution of this thesis is to measure to what extend cooperation can contribute to carbon emissions. Many research addresses the advantage of cooperation in reducing cost. However, there isn't a plenty of research addressing the effect of cooperation on carbon emissions when the incentive of the cooperation is to reduce cost only. The aim of this thesis is to show if joint replenishment leads to a reduction in carbon emissions and this to be considered as an advantage to be added to cooperation. Moreover, if a savings occur from cooperation, the aim will be to address the issue of allocating the savings among parties engaged in the coalition. The thesis methodology adapted and extended cooperative EOQ model and basic inventory model (EOQ) in order to formulate and build an adjusted model to measure carbon emissions. The adjusted model will be used to calculate carbon emission in centralized and decentralized systems with incentives to reduce cost and no incentives to reduce emission. The calculation shall yield the optimum ordering quantity which in turn yields the savings between the two systems. Finally core allocation principles will be leveraged to propose a fair allocation of savings. Furthermore, the model will be extended to consider some regulation and different environments to which it will cater for carbon-tax regulation and full Truckload system contexts.
Findings indicate that applying inventory game theory leads to a reduction of carbon emissions along with cost. Additionally, the total carbon emissions in centralized system will always be less then decentralized system under all conditions. Moreover, the proposed proportional allocation which was proven to be a core allocation model will be based on the frequency of ordering and the amount of holding emissions
Boost Integrated Push-Pull Rectifier with Power Factor Correction and Output Voltage Regulation using a New Digital Control Technique
An integrated converter is a synthesized converter based on the overall system integration, which is simplified by the system objective and can implement the system functions similar to the discrete converters. An integrated converter consists of converter sets; each converter set has a special function defined by the designer. A family of DC/DC Boost based integrated rectifiers with two active switches can be derived by the integration concept. In this paper, Boost + Push-Pull integrated converter is introduced and derived. To regulate the output voltage and shape the input current, a new simple digital control method is applied. In contrast to the conventional analog control methods, the principal idea of this new digital control algorithm is to use real-time analysis and estimate the required on time of the switches based on the value of the output voltage, input inductor current, and input voltage. The high capacitor voltage stress caused by the compatibility of the integration can be reduced by two methods. Pulse regulation control method is used to control this converter. Simulation results are presented
A New Estimative Current Mode Control Technique for DC-DC Converters Operating in Discontinuous Conduction Mode
A new digital control technique for power converters operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is introduced and applied to a boost converter. In contrast to the conventional analogue control methods, the principal idea of this new control scheme is to use real-time analysis and estimate the required on-time of the switch based on the dynamic of the system. The proposed control algorithm can easily be programmed in a digital signal processor (DSP). This novel technique is applicable to any converter operating in DCM including power factor correctors (PFC). However, this work mainly focuses on the boost topology. In this paper, the main mathematical concept of the new control algorithm is introduced, as well as the robustness investigation of the proposed method, simulation, and experimental results
Position Sensorless Control
The switched reluctance machines (SRM) drives applications are studied. the introduction of SRM drives in mission critical applications calls for high levels of survivability and fault tolerance. the various methods are proposed for the sensor less control of SRM drives. the best version of the sensor less technique is selected by continuous monitoring of the back-EMF. the results show that four-quadrant sensor less control of the SRM drive is a feasible technique and can be considered as a technology ready for application
