THE MATHEMATICAL PROBLEMS OF A HEAT TRANSFER PHENOMENON
This paper is dealing with the numerical problems of the solution of two-dimensional heat conduction phenomenon. These can be groupped into three almost separated points:
I. dimensional analysis numerical, how to choose the dimensionless parameters;
II. the stability problem of the boundary condition of third kind;
III. advantages of using the Bajcsay method to solve the differential equation
Bovine herpesvirus type 4: A special herpesvirus (Review Article)
This paper summarizes the history of and information on bovine herpesvirus type 4 (BoHV-4) from the first isolation to the most recent results. For almost twenty years BoHV-4 has been considered a typical herpes ‘orphan’ virus, which infects several species but causes no illness. The latest experiments revealed the close relationship of this virus with the immune system and other tissues. The virus was even considered as a possible candidate for a vector vaccine. BoHV-4 as a strange herpesvirus has several features which are not characteristic of other herpesviruses, such as several latency sites, persistence in serum, dividing cells necessary for virus replication, and the wide host range. In addition to describing the main features of the virion, replication, clinical signs, nomenclature problems, this review intends to concentrate on the new and strange results coming out from several laboratories worldwide. It is also suggested that because the virus combines several properties of various herpesvirus subfamilies and because of its close relationship with the immune system, it may deserve further attention as a representative of a potentially new genus within the Gammaherpesvirinae subfamily
Resolution of parentage in dogs by examination of microsatellites after death of putative sire: Case report
A case of disputed paternity in dogs is reported. DNA examinations were carried out from hair samples of the individuals several months after the death of the putative sire. Ten short tandem repeat (STR) loci were analysed by fluorescence- labelled multiplex PCR using ABI PRISM 310 Genetic Analyser. Based on the results the candidate sire was included in the pedigree records as the biological sire. In spite o f the genetic homogeneity of pedigree dogs due to inbreeding, canine microsatellites can provide an adequate basis for assigning paternity in pure breeds
Successful treatment of a primary uterine B-cell lymphoma with rituximab-CHOP immunochemotherapy
We report the case of a 26 year old patient with a primary, Ann Arbor stage IE, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of the uterine corpus. The patient was admitted to our hospital because of a one year history of vaginal contact bleeding. Final diagnosis was based on the histological and immunohistochemical evaluation of a specimen obtained by fractionated cervical and uterine curettage. Further staging has not revealed any other localization of the disease. Antilymphoma treatment was started with CHOP combined with rituximab and resulted complete remission. This is the first reported case of an uterine lymphoma treated by rituximab-based immunochemotherapy
Automating Integration of Heterogeneous COTS Components
Abstract. Mismatches make COTS components difficult to be incorporated. In this paper, an approach is presented to eliminate mismatches among COTS components, which can truly consider COTS components as black boxes. In the approach, only the assembly description of components is required, based on which adaptors for resolving mismatches can be generated automatically. This paper also described an agent-based GUI implementation of the approach.
