Convective heat transfer between a moving solid spherical particle and a viscous gas

An approximate solution of a boundary value problem for the convective heat transfer equation is obtained by the method of matched asymptotic expansions for small P´eclet and Reynolds numbers. When solving the stationary system of gasdynamic heat transfer equations including the system of Navier-Stokes equations linearized in the velocity, the convective heat transfer equation, and the Poisson equation, it is assumed that the temperature dependences of the viscosity, thermal conductivity, and density of a gaseous medium are power-la

Diffusiophoresis and photophoresis of heated large nonvolatile aerosol spherical particles

This paper describes a theoretical study of the steady motion of a large solid nonvolatile aerosol spherical particle, which contains thermal sources within itself, in a concentration gradient of binary gas mixture components. It is assumed that an average particle surface temperature significantly differs from the temperature of the binary gas mixture surrounding it. Equations of gas dynamics are solved taking into account the power-law dependence of the molecular transfer coefficients (viscosity, thermal conductivity, and diffusion) and the density of the gaseous medium on temperature. Under boundary conditions, diffusion and thermal slip are taken into accoun

Coherent X-ray radiation along the velocity of relativistic electron crossing a periodic layered medium

In the present work, the dynamic theory of coherent X-radiation generated by a relativistic electron crossing the multilayered medium in the direction of the electron velocity vector is developed in Bragg scattering geometry for general case of asymmetric reflection. The comparison of the analogous radiation generated by a relativistic electron in the single crystal medium is mad

Simulation the process of scientific potential development of the personality at the university: approaches and ideas

    Get PDF
It has been established the presence of a high percentage of students with a reproductive level of development of the scientific potential of the individual (39%). There have been identified significant deficiencies in the technological readiness of students for research. It is shown the predominance of students with a creative and heuristic level of development of the scientific potential of the personality in the humanities in comparison with students of natural sciences and mathematical specialtie

Fluorescent 2-pyrimidinone nucleoside in parallel-stranded DNA

Stretches of parallel-stranded (ps) double-helical DNA can arise within antiparallel-stranded (aps) Watson-Crick DNA in looped structures or in the presence of sequence mismatches. Here we studied an effect of a pyrimidinone-G (PG) base pair on the stability and conformation of the ps DNA to explore whether P is useful as a structural probe
