Development of Vietnamese Vocational Education Teachers to adapt the Industrial Revolution 4.0

    Get PDF
Teacher is always a key factor which determines training quality in general and vocational training quality of the Vocational Education System (VES) in particular. In face of strong influences from the fourth industrial revolution (IR 4.0), teacher is getting more important in training of human resources, especially qualification level and capacity to apply technology and innovate teaching methods. Based on the analysis for impacts of the IR 4.0 on VES, requirements for capacity of teachers and the reality on vocational education teachers (VETs) today, this article suggests some solutions to develop VETs to adapt to the IR 4.0 as a basis for development of teachers at vocational education institutions in Vietnam

Dynamic Texture Map Based Artifact Reduction For Compressed Videos

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a method of artifact reduction in compressed videos using dynamic texture map together with artifact maps and 3D - fuzzy filters. To preserve better details during filtering process, the authors introduce a novel method to construct a texture map for video sequences called dynamic texture map. Then, temporal arifacts such as flicker artifacts and mosquito artifacts are also estimated by advanced flicker maps and mosquito maps. These maps combined with fuzzy filters are applied to intraframe and interframe pixels to enhancecompressed videos. Simulation results verify the advanced performance of the proposed fuzzy filtering scheme in term of visual quality, SSIM, PSNR and flicker metrics in comparisionwith existing state of the art methods

Literature Review of Knowledge Sharing and Issues Raised for Vietnamese Universities

    Get PDF
This study aims to review previous studies in the field of knowledge sharing. Data being used in this study was collected from researches related to the topic of knowledge sharing. We summarize literature on knowledge sharing in terms of (i) Necessity of knowledge sharing, (ii) Supporting from information and communication technology tools (ICT), (iii) Context of knowledge sharing, (iv) Participants knowledge sharing, (v) Receiver knowledge and (vi) advantages and disadvantages when participating in knowledge sharing. Some implications are recommended for Vietnamese universities to better support knowledge sharing activities in Vietnam and around the world. Trichinellosis in Vietnam

    Get PDF
Trichinellosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease with a worldwide distribution. The aim of this work was to describe the epidemiological and clinical data of five outbreaks of trichinellosis, which affected ethnic minorities living in remote mountainous areas of northwestern Vietnam from 1970 to 2012. Trichinellosis was diagnosed in 126 patients, of which 11 (8.7%) were hospitalized and 8 (6.3%) died. All infected people had consumed raw pork from backyard and roaming pigs or wild boar at wedding, funeral, or New Year parties. The short incubation period (average of 9.5 days), the severity of the symptoms, which were characterized by diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, myalgia, edema, weight loss, itch, and lisping, and the high mortality, suggest that patients had ingested a high number of larvae. The larval burden in pigs examined in one of the outbreaks ranged from 70 to 879 larvae/g. These larvae and those collected from a muscle biopsy taken from a patient from the 2012 outbreak were identified as Trichinella spiralis. Data presented in this work show that the northern regions of Vietnam are endemic areas for Trichinella infections in domestic pigs and humans

    ARISTOTLE’S EDUCATIONAL IDEAS

    Get PDF
Aristotle (384-322 BC) was a great thinker, an encyclopedic brain of ancient Greek science and philosophy. Perhaps few people know him as an educator who brought out extremely deep opinions about subjects, program contents, role of education, etc. nearly 2500 years ago. In all his researching life, he has many scientific works that are meticulous and scientifically valuable aimed at bringing “the best things” for humans. In the book Politics - although educational ideas are not the main contents of the book, they are presented quite closely by Aristotle – positive factors are included and have been very important up to now.  Article visualizations

English discourse awareness in Vietnamese tertiary education

    Get PDF
The term “Discourse Awareness” is a new concept in Vietnam. Discourse awareness, conceptualized as a classroom pedagogy, can improve students’ language capacity and has gained popularity over time. Our literature review suggested that there has been little research into this domain locally in Vietnam. This paper aims to discuss the ecology of the concept, examine its developments in Vietnamese tertiary education, and make some arguments for raising students’ discourse awareness in teaching and learning English. It introduces the literature review on discourse awareness in Vietnam, which presents an overview of the supportive role of discourse awareness development in English language teaching and learning. Findings outlined how discourse awareness-raising activities have extensively and successfully been exploited in language classrooms through teaching and learning practices, teacher education, literacy development, and maximizing the cultural competence of language learners. Since then, it is reasonable to hold a strong belief that discourse awareness can serve as an enabling tool to facilitate students’ communication

The Impact of CSR on Brand Identification, Word of Mouth and Consumer’s Repurchase Intention in the Retailer Industry

    Get PDF
This study explored and measured the influence of corporation social responsibility (CSR) on consumers' re-purchase intentions through the mediators of brand identification and word of mouth (WOM). The quantitative method was applied in the research, and there were 287 valid respondents who had purchased something from the retailer store brands. The collected data was checked for reliability, convergence, and discriminant validity among the constructs before testing the hypothesis and the theoretical research model. In particular, the Cronbach alpha reliability, exploring factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation model (SEM) were used to analyze the research data under the support of SPSS and AMOS software. The results indicate that CSR has significant effects on brand identification, WOM, and consumers' re-purchase intentions. Brand identification has a positive impact on consumers' repurchase intentions, whereas WOM has not. The findings have significant contributions to the marketing theory and provide management implications for managers, especially in retail store brands. Doi: 10.28991/ESJ-2023-07-06-021 Full Text: PD

Comparison of two hydrological model simulations using NAM and XINANJIANG for Nong Son catchment

    Get PDF
The study presents the hydrological simulations for the Nong Son catchment, a drainage area of the Vu Gia-Thu Bon basin in the Central Vietnam, by using the NAM and XINANJIANG models. Simulation results for both models show good agreement between calculated and observed discharges at the stream gauge. The overall water balance error is less than ±10%, Nash-Sut cliffe efficiency R2R^2  above 0.85, and Pearson correlation coefficient rr above 0.92 in both model calibration and verification period. Although NAM's performance shows a slightly better correspondence between the discharges at the stream gauge, the XINANJIANG model shows a relatively better reproduction of the runoff components (i.e. overland flow, interflow and baseflow)
