Study of e+,e− production in elementary and nuclear collisions near the production threshold with HADES

    Get PDF
HADES is a second generation experiment designed to study dielectron production in proton, pion, and heavy ion induced reactions at the GSI accelerator facility in Darmstadt. The physics programme of HADES is focused on in-medium properties of the light vector mesons. In this contribution we present status of the HADES experiment, demonstrate its capability to identify rare dielectron signal, show first experimental results obtained from C+C reactions at 2 A GeV and shortly discuss physics programme of up-coming experimental runs. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. Organised by: Cranfield UniversityDue to the increasing systems complexity, architecture design became an important issue. It gained interest and its importance was framed in three domains: as a way to understand complex systems, to design them, to manage their manufacturing process and to provide long-term rationality. The purpose of this paper is, firstly, to survey the existing definition approaches on architecture. Secondly, we propose a model for architecture design which articulates the potential linkage between two principle concepts: synthesis and abstraction. Our proposal model focuses on abstraction concept and permits an effective top-down design approach. It helps also designers to more respond to issues that characterize architecture design.Mori Seiki – The Machine Tool Compan

Image processing using proper orthogonal and dynamic mode decompositions for the study of cavitation developing on a NACA0015 foil

    Get PDF
The purpose of the present study is to get a better understanding of the hydrodynamic instabilities of sheet cavities which develop along solid walls. The main objective is to highlight the spatial and temporal behavior of such a cavity when it develops on a NACA0015 foil at high Reynolds number. Experimental results show a quasi-steady, periodic, bifurcation domain, with aperiodic cavity behavior corresponding to σ/2α values of 5.75, 5, 4.3 and 3.58. Robust mathematical methods of signal postprocessing (proper orthogonal decomposition and dynamic mode decomposition) were applied in order to emphasize the spatio-temporal nature of the flow. These new techniques put in evidence the 3D effects due to the reentrant jet instabilities or due to propagating shock wave mechanism at the origin of the shedding process of the cavitation cloud

Probing of in-medium hadron structure with HADES

EIThe High Acceptance DiElectron Spectrometer (HADES) has been recently commissioned at GSI Darmstadt. It has been designed to study hadron properties inside nuclear matter via measurements of dielectron decays in proton, pion and heavy ion induced reactions in 1−2 AGeV energy range. We report first preliminary results on invariant masses of e+e− pairs measured in 12C + 12C collisions at E=2 AGeV and compare them to simulations based on UrQMD transport model. In summary we present and discuss planned experiments
