This study was intended to figure out the effectiveness of Numbered Heads Together in improving speaking skill of the seventh grade students of SMP PGRI 4 Denpasar. This study was conducted in class VII B which consisted of 16 students: 12 males and 4 females. This study was conducted by the fact that the subjects still faced problem in speaking skill especially in vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. Based on the result of the pre-test which was carried out in the pre-cycle, among 16 subjects who did the pre-test, there was none of the subjects passed the minimum score. The present study was then carried out by implementing Numbered Heads Together in successive two cycles where each cycle consisted of two sessions. The results of post-tests score for cycle I was 2.67 while in cycle II was 3.18. The results of post-test in each cycle showed that there was a significant progressing achievement of the subjects’ speaking skill. In addition, the data analysis of questionnaire score showed the comparative percentages figures of 55.78% for option A, 42.40% for option B, 1.80% for option C and 0% of option D. The result of the questionnaire above clearly showed that the students’ learning behavior and motivation have been improved significantly when Numbered Heads Together was implemented in teaching speaking. In conclusion, the present classroom action study proved that Numbered Heads Together was effective to improve the seventh grade students’ of SMP PGRI 4 Denpasar ability in speaking skill; in addition, the subjects also responded positively to the implementation of Numbered Heads Together

Herba sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.)

Modified Distribution (MODI) method of the operation research\u27s in Sekolah Tinggi Teknologi Adisutjipto Informatic Engineering is one of method which optimal solution low cost in the transportation model. MODI is using Northwest Corner method to determine the initial allocation, which will be processed to obtain a more optimal solution. MODI method is aplied to a desktop-based application that aims to help lecturer on presentation material. The results of 2 test on 1 primary user respondent 85,81% for 30 questions, test of 30 secondary user respondent with, Display/Graphical User Interface (GUI) (74,67%), Speed/Conveniences Of Access to information (80,92%), Accuracy Of Information (82,89%), and User Satisfaction (81,90%). Low cost application of Transportation Model with MODI method is very good

If we make batik manually, it will less effective and efficient.besides that can make worker uncomfortable. Because the new worker must learn all over again to be a reliable process planner as his predecessor. This is loss to the company. Fortunately there is a method called Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP). CAPP can use to make job more fast than before. Besides that it will make more effective and efficient plan process

Phytochemical test on herbal drinks loloh cemcem at Penglipuran Village, Bali

    Get PDF
Loloh is a traditional Balinese drink that is believed to be able to overcome certain diseases. The Balinese people make loloh independently for self-consumption or trading in the small-scale home industry. The making of loloh is usually passed down from generation to generation, but until now has not been standardized. Loloh cemcem is one of the traditional drinks from The Penglipuran Village, Bangli Regency, Bali. This study aims to conduct phytochemical tests on loloh cemcem in Bali, especially from Penglipuran Village. Phytochemical tests include levels of alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, phenolics, saponins, flavonoids, steroid, and tannins. The results of this study indicate that loloh cemcem produced in Penglipuran Village contains flavonoids, terpenoids, tannins, phenols, and alkaloids. But do not contain saponins and steroids. Loloh cemcem has the potential to be an antibacterial, antioxidant and another benefit that still needs further investigation

Neutron stars in globular clusters: formation and observational manifestations

    Get PDF
Population synthesis is used to model the number of neutron stars in globular clusters that are observed as LMXBs and millisecond PSRs. The dynamical interaction between binary and single stars in a GC are assumed to take place with a permanently replenished "background" of single stars whose density distribution keeps track with the cluster evolution as a whole and evolution of single stars. We use the hypothesis (Podsiadlowski et al) that NS forming in binary systems from components with initial masses \sim 8-12 M_\odot during the electron-capture collapse of the degenerate O-Ne-Mg core do not acquire a high space velocities (kicks). The remaining NSs (i.e. from single stars with M>8 M_\odot or binary comonents with M>12 M_\odot) are assumed to be born with high kicks, as found from obsrevations of single pulsars (Hobbs et al. 2005). Under this assumption, a sizeable fraction of NSs remain in GCs (about 1000 NSs in a GC with a mass of 5\times 10^5 M_\odot). The number of ms PSRs formed in the cluster via accretion spin-up in binaries is then about 10, which is consistent with observations. Our modelling reproduces the observed shape of the X-ray luminosity function for accreting NSs in binaries with normal and degenerate components and the distribution of spin periods of ms PSRs in GCs under the assumption of accretion-driven magnetic field decay of NSs up to a bottom value of 10^8 G. The number of LMXBs and ms PSRs dynamically expelling from GCs is also calculated.Comment: LATEX, 21 pages, 8 gif figures, Astronomy Letters, in pres
