Bose-Einstein Correlations in at a Linear Collider
We show that the most popular method to simulate Bose-Einstein (BE) interference effects predicts negligible correlations between identical pions originating from the hadronic decay of different W's produced in e+e- -> W+W- -> 4 jets at typical linear collider energies
The Fractal Properties of the Source and BEC
Using simple space-time implementation of the random cascade model we
investigate numerically influence of the possible fractal structure of the
emitting source on Bose-Einstein correlations between identical particles. The

An Observation on F_2 at Low x
A simple parametrisation of H1 and ZEUS data at HERA is given for the ranges
in x and Q^2 of 10^{-4} - 5.10^{-2} and 5 - 250 GeV^2, respectively. This
empirical expression is based on a strikingly similar dependence of the average
charged particle multiplicity on the centre of mass system energy sqrt{s}
in e+e- collisions on the one hand, and the x dependence of the proton
structure function F_2 as measured at small x on the other hand. To the best of
our knowledge, this similarity has not been noted before.Comment: 10 pages, latex, 5 Figure
A comparison of different methods in the study of dynamical fluctuations in high energy e+e- collisions
Different methods in the study of anomalous scaling of factorial moments in
high energy e+e- collisions are examined in some detail. It is shown that the
horizontal and vertical factorial moments are equivalent only when they are
used in combination with the cummulant variables. The influence of different
reference frames and that of phase space restrictions is also discussed.Comment: 5 pages, 6 figure
Estimation of Hydrodynamical Model Parameters from the Invariant Spectrum and the Bose-Einstein Correlations of pi-mesons Produced in (pi+/K+)p Interactions at 250 GeV/c
The invariant spectra of pi- mesons produced in (pi+/K+)p interactions at 250
GeV/c are analysed in the framework of the hydrodynamical model of
three-dimensionally expanding cylindrically symmetric finite systems.
A satisfactory description of experimental data is achieved.
The data favour the pattern according to which the hadron matter undergoes
predominantly longitudinal expansion and non-relativistic transverse expansion
with mean transverse velocity = 0.20(7), and is characterized by a large
temperature inhomogeneity in the transverse direction: the extracted freeze-out
temperature at the center of the tube and at the transverse rms radius are
140(3) MeV and 82(7) MeV, respectively. The width of the (longitudinal)
space-time rapidity distribution of the pion source is found to be Delta eta =
1.36(2).
Combining this estimate with results of the Bose-Einstein correlation
analysis in the same experiment, one extracts a mean freeze-out time of the
source of = 1.4(1) fm/c and its transverse geometrical rms radius, R_G
(rms)=1.2(2) fm.Comment: latex, 14 pages, 5 figure
Bose-Einstein Correlations and Color Reconnection in W-pair production
We propose a systematic study of Bose-Einstein correlations between identical
hadrons coming from different W decays. Experimentally accessible signatures of
these correlations as well as of possible color reconnection effects are

Anisotropic splitting of intersubband spin plasmons in quantum wells with bulk and structural inversion asymmetry
In semiconductor heterostructures, bulk and structural inversion asymmetry
and spin-orbit coupling induce a k-dependent spin splitting of valence and
conduction subbands, which can be viewed as being caused by momentum-dependent
crystal magnetic fields. This paper studies the influence of these effective
magnetic fields on the intersubband spin dynamics in an asymmetric n-type
GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well. We calculate the dispersions of intersubband spin
plasmons using linear response theory. The so-called D'yakonov-Perel'
decoherence mechanism is inactive for collective intersubband excitations,
i.e., crystal magnetic fields do not lead to decoherence of spin plasmons.
Instead, we predict that the main signature of bulk and structural inversion
asymmetry in intersubband spin dynamics is a three-fold, anisotropic splitting
of the spin plasmon dispersion. The importance of many-body effects is pointed
out, and conditions for experimental observation with inelastic light
scattering are discussed.Comment: 8 pages, 6 figure
Spin-polarized transport and Andreev reflection in semiconductor/superconductor hybrid structures
We show that spin-polarized electron transmission across
semiconductor/superconductor (Sm/S) hybrid structures depends sensitively on
the degree of spin polarization as well as the strengths of potential and
spin-flip scattering at the interface. We demonstrate that increasing the Fermi
velocity mismatch in the Sm and S regions can lead to enhanced junction
transparency in the presence of spin polarization. We find that the Andreev
reflection amplitude at the superconducting gap energy is a robust measure of
the spin polarization magnitude, being independent of the strengths of
potential and spin-flip scattering and the Fermi velocity of the

Clan Structure Analysis and Rapidity Gap Probability
Clan structure analysis in rapidity intervals is generalized from negative
binomial multiplicity distribution to the wide class of compound Poisson
distributions. The link of generalized clan structure analysis with correlation
functions is also established. These theoretical results are then applied to
minimum bias events and evidentiate new interesting features, which can be
inspiring and useful in order to discuss data on rapidity gap probability at

Boost Invariance and Multiplicity Dependence of the Charge Balance Functionin and Collisions at GeV/c
Boost invariance and multiplicity dependence of the charge balance function
are studied in \pi^{+}\rp and \rK^{+}\rp collisions at 250 GeV/ incident
beam momentum. Charge balance, as well as charge fluctuations, are found to be
boost invariant over the whole rapidity region, but both depend on the size of
the rapidity window. It is also found that the balance function becomes
narrower with increasing multiplicity, consistent with the narrowing of the
balance function when centrality and/or system size increase, as observed in
