Computer aided education in area of automatic control - CAAC information system

    Get PDF
The article deals with a presentation of the CAAC (Computer Aided Automatic Control) information system. This information system has a modular structure and it is open so that it is possible to add and eventually modify particular parts of the CAAC information system easily according to personal requirements and pre-defined rules. The CAAC information system has been arranged for the time being into 15 problem areas, the so called subsystems which include the automatic control. In all subsystems, the so called ?problem specification? is formulated by means of tree structure. The tree structure serves as a basis for the creation of structure of given subsystem on webpages. The use of the information system is anticipated mainly for didactic purposes whereas utilisation of webpages on the Internet is supposed.Z(MSM7088352102

Using of simulation for comparison of technologies for pallets storing

    Get PDF
The paper highlights the problem oftechnology for pallet storing. The aim is to compare selected technologies and to find efficient warehouse solution for the real company, which produces a plastic parts for automotive and needs to solve storing in the new hall. The work describes differences between two pallet storing technologies - static racking system and powered mobile racking system. Comparison contains description, advantages and disadvantages of the both systems. Real data from real project are used for the evaluation of necessary parameters. The result presents proposal of solution which can meet all initial conditions. © 2016 Author(s)

Design of the storage location based on the ABC analyses

    Get PDF
The paper focuses on process efficiency and saving storage costs. Maintaining inventory through putaway strategy takes personnel time and costs money. The aim is to control inventory in the best way. The ABC classification based on Villefredo Pareto theory is used for a design of warehouse layout. New design of storage location reduces the distance of fork-lifters, total costs and it increases inventory process efficiency. The suggested solutions and evaluation of achieved results are described in detail. Proposed solutions were realized in real warehouse operation. © 2016 Author(s)

Strategy and philosophy of district heating systems control

    Get PDF
The District Heating Systems (OHS) are being developed in large cities in accordance with their growth. The OHS are formed by enlarging networks of heat distribution to consumers and at the same time they interconnect the heat sources gradually built. OHS is used in larger cities of some European countries e.g. in Germany, France, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland and others. Production technology of heat by means of combined production of power and heat (CHP) is an important way to increasing of thermal efficiency of closed thermal loop. The paper shows the system access to the control of extensive OHS-controlled plant. It concerns automatic control of technological string "production, transport + distribution, consumption" of extensive district heating and that is the contribution of this paper. Control by means of advanced control algorithms is a tool (up to now neglect) for decreasing cost of energy and increasing the level of environment protection. © 2003 IFAC

    Strategic management and multiplier effect

    Get PDF
Many companies are addressing the low performance of individual employees. Management of multiple companies intend to prepare individual coaching programs for employee development. Before going into this work, on one side it is the development and improvement of the employees' results, but the other side is the overall strategic management of the company and the related set of rules within the company that often influences this performance. The company's overall analysis should be conducted and the results subsequently confirm these assumptions. Human mistakes account for a maximum of 15% on the causes of problems in the company and unsatisfactory results. 85% of mistakes come from a poorly configured system, a lack of strategic management. This thesis is properly simulated in the program Witness from Lanner group. In this paper, we are concerned with discovering bottlenecks in production and with the multiplier effect aimed at increasing production. All simulation results are presented and explained

Application of simulation models for the optimization of business processes

    Get PDF
The paper deals with the applications of modeling and simulation tools in the optimization of business processes, especially in solving an optimization of signal flow in security company. As a modeling tool was selected Simul8 software that is used to process modeling based on discrete event simulation and which enables the creation of a visual model of production and distribution processes. © 2016 Author(s)

Heuristic Algorithms for Manufacturing and Replacement Strategies of the Production System

    Get PDF
Abstract: The paper highlights the problem of minimizing economic costs of making orders in the automated manufacturing system which consists of work centres arranged in a series. Each of them is equipped with tools which carry out defined manufacturing operations. Tools are replaced with new ones only when no manufacturing operation can be performed any more in order to minimize the residual pass. The equations of state of the production line are presented and heuristic control strategies are discussed in detail. The criterion is to minimize the number of replacement procedures which results in maximizing the use of tools in work centres. To prove the correctness of the presented approach the paper is supported with an extended simulation study based on implementing available combinations of either manufacturing or replacement strategies taking into account various configurations which come into being in the real manufacturing environment. The simulation results form the basis for the detailed analysis to meet the requirements of the applicable decision-making procedures

Adaptive control of nonlinear processes using two methods of parameter estimation

    Get PDF
The paper deals with continous-time adaptive control of nonlinear processes. A nonlinear model of the process is approximated by a continuous-time external linear model. The parameters of the CT external linear model of the process are estimated in two ways. In the first case, direct estimation of the CT model is used. In the second case, the parameters of a corresponding delta model are recursively estimated. The control system structure with two feedback controllers is considered. The controller design is based on the polynomial approach. The resulting controllers ensure stability of the control system as well as asymptotic tracking of the step reference and step load disturbance attenuation. The adaptive control is tested on the nonlinear system represented by a model of two spheric liquid tanks in series
