    Image motion compensation for an electronic imaging system

    The design of an image compensation device is given which is capable of minimizing the in-track image disturbances caused by velocity variations in an optical scanning device. Guidelines for the development of this mechanism are based on known optical principles. Acceptable response capabilities for this device are based on subjective and quantitative image quality standards. A first order analysis of the device was conducted to specify the performance required to minimize the distortions mentioned above. The final system specifications take into account actual hardware that is currently available for the typical scanner system presented

    The title compound, C14H5F6NO3, was synthesized by condensation of tetra­fluoro­phthalic anhydride and 2,4-difluoro­aniline. It was then recrystallized from hexane to give a nonmerohedral twin with two crystallographically unique mol­ecules in the asymmetric unit. The refined twin fraction is 0.460 (3). Torsional differences between the aryl rings and the central amide group account for the presence of two unique mol­ecules. The compound packs as double tapes formed by O—H⋯O and N—H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter­actions between each unique mol­ecule and its symmetry equivalents

    A method of communicating information from a wireless autonomous device (WAD) to a base station. The WAD has a data element having a predetermined profile having a total number of sequenced possible data element combinations. The method includes receiving at the WAD an RF profile transmitted by the base station that includes a triggering portion having a number of pulses, wherein the number is at least equal to the total number of possible data element combinations. The method further includes keeping a count of received pulses and wirelessly transmitting a piece of data, preferably one bit, to the base station when the count reaches a value equal to the stored data element's particular number in the sequence. Finally, the method includes receiving the piece of data at the base station and using the receipt thereof to determine which of the possible data element combinations the stored data element is

    Over two hundred pavement sections in Kentucky have been periodically measured for pavement roughness over a period of several years. This pavement service-life historical data can be used to assess quality of construction, pavement service-life, present and anticipated pavement condition. Road users perception of ride quality can be related to these measurements. Response-type road roughness measuring systems have been used to collect roughness measurements and correlation studies have been performed to relate measurements from current systems. Several factors influence pavement roughness. An early factor is construction workmanship. Other factors are traffic loading, environment, geology, and age

This solution allows the entire active transponder to have all circuit elements in a sleep (standby) state, thus drastically extending battery life or other charge storage device life. Also, a wake-up solution that reduces total energy consumption of an active transponder system by allowing all non-addressed transponders to remain in a sleep (standby) state, thereby reducing total system or collection energy.
