This article analyses national innovation system of Ukraine. Examined the industry of Ukraine based on innovative activity and investigated the growth indicators, taking into account inflation-index. It is established that the slowdown in the dynamics realized production leads to a decrease in the cost of innovation

This is the author accepted manuscript. The final version is available from Springer via http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11663-015-0386-yA case study is presented that examines the macrosegregation and grain structure present in a 12-tonne steel ingot, which was cast for experimental purposes. Details of the casting procedure were well documented and the resulting ingot was characterized using a number of techniques that measured chemical segregation, shrinkage, and porosity. The formation of the porosity and segregation patterns is discussed in reference to the particular grain structure observed in the ingot. It is hoped that this case study can be used as a tool for the validation of future macromodels. This work was undertaken as part of a Project sponsored by Rolls-Royce Power Nuclear plc in collaboration with Sheffield Forgemasters International

Exploiting nanobodies and Affimers for superresolution imaging in light microscopy

Antibodies have long been the main approach used for localizing proteins of interest by light microscopy. In the past 5 yr or so, and with the advent of superresolution microscopy, the diversity of tools for imaging has rapidly expanded. One main area of expansion has been in the area of nanobodies, small single-chain antibodies from camelids or sharks. The other has been the use of artificial scaffold proteins, including Affimers. The small size of nanobodies and Affimers compared with the traditional antibody provides several advantages for superresolution imaging
