An Analytical study of the Medical College Libraries of Gujarat in the Age of Information Technology
The advent of Information and Communication Technologies and Impact of Information explosion have brought many changes in diverse field of knowledge, especially in medical sciences which had profound impact on medical professionals, practitioners, students in pursuing their research and patient care. The medical professionals require pinpointed, accurate and speedy information for updating their knowledge. Due to the elasticity of budgets and increases in journal and book prices every year, keeping in view of user needs, libraries are forced to join a consortium. Medical education aims at developing medical manpower suitable to the needs of the country. The medical manpower produced in the state of Gujarat is in thousands. It is no exaggeration to state that libraries are one of the primary sources of knowledge to this manpower. The medical college libraries have a crucial role to play directly in the promotion of medical education and health care information and indirectly in various health welfare programmes.

Growth and impact of scholarly contributions for SP University: A Bibliometric Analysis
Qualitative analysis of bibliographic datasets becomes advantageous to individuals and institutions since the high weightage of ‘research’ enunciated in assessment ranking or gradation framework. Out of the various existing methods ‘bibliometric methods’ applied in the current study for quantitative examination of research output to measure productivity and performance. A total of 1690 Bibliographic records consulted of Sardar Patel University (SPU) published during the year 2009-2018 retrieved from the Scopus indexing database. To validate the objectives i.e. to determine chronological growth, authorship pattern, core sources for research communication, and influence of productivity by citations received, various indicators, and indices and bibliometric laws i.e. RGR, Dt, CAI, DC, Bradford’s Law of distributions, and more have been applied appropriately. Furthermore, software of ‘MS-Excel’ and ‘bibliometrix’ & ‘biblioshiny’ of R-Package software applied for detailed and accurate analysis. Evaluated data figured out Average yearly contribution 169 research however accounted Mean RGR (P) ‘0.25’; Mean Dt (P) ’3.52 reveals inconsistent growth of research output. Rate of DC ‘0.98’ and the highest ‘51.30%’ productivity for ‘multi authorship’ indicates a higher rate of collaborative research work. Total ‘36 core sources’ identified which are highly relevant to ‘applied / pure science’ discipline. A total of 15153 citations were received for research occurrence in the span with an average of 8.97 ACPP where mean RGR (C) ‘0.19’ and Mean Dt (C) ‘7.06’ of citations should be the matter of anxiety for SPU and individual scholars. SPU has to make more effort to promote research and create quality culture, attention of developing better policies to enhance and enrich the research performance of individuals

Global research trends of interleukin-6 in SARS-CoV-2 infection
528-535IL-6 levels are significantly elevated in COVID-19 patients and are associated with poor clinical outcomes. Inhibiting IL-6 is thought to be a unique therapeutic strategy for the control of dysregulated host responses in SARS-CoV-2. The present study focuses on evaluating the research productivity of IL-6 level in SARS-CoV-2 infection using various bibliometric indicators and analysed 4510 research papers related to IL-6 levels in SARS-CoV-2 from the Scopus database and VOS Viewer tool applied for visualization. The results revealed that ascendant trends in the publications and USA, China and Italy have secured top three position in numbers of publications. Study observed that “Dagna L.” received top prolific author rank. Article entitled “Clinical features of patients infected with 2019 novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China” received maximum of 15364 total citations, whereas “Frontiers in Immunology” and “Journal of Medical Virology” secured in top two highly productive journals in the subject with extreme link strength. With regard to organisation, “Tongji Medical College-China” reported highly dynamic organization. “COVID-19”; “SARS-CoV-2”; “Interleukin” received maximum occurrences with high link strength. In view of global mounting public health issue of COVID-19, primarily due to increased viral transmissibility and associated cytokine storm, the present study will helpful for the medical professionals to know the research trends and also library authority for updating collection development policy in the specific subject domains
