Emergence of junction dynamics in a strongly interacting Bose mixture
We study the dynamics of a one-dimensional system composed of a bosonic
background and one impurity in single- and double-well trapping geometries. In
the limit of strong interactions, this system can be modeled by a spin chain
where the exchange coefficients are determined by the geometry of the trap. We
observe non-trivial dynamics when the repulsion between the impurity and the
background is dominant. In this regime, the system exhibits oscillations that
resemble the dynamics of a Josephson junction. Furthermore, the double-well
geometry allows for an enhancement in the tunneling as compared to the
single-well case.Comment: 20 pages, 9 figure
Dynamical realization of magnetic states in a strongly interacting Bose mixture
We describe the dynamical preparation of magnetic states in a strongly
interacting two-component Bose gas in a harmonic trap. By mapping this system
to an effective spin chain model, we obtain the dynamical spin densities and
the fidelities for a few-body system. We show that the spatial profiles transit
between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic states as the intraspecies
interaction parameter is slowly increased.Comment: 6 pages, 7 figure
Dynamics in strongly interacting one-dimensional quantum systems
In this thesis we study the dynamics of one-dimensional strongly interacting few-body systems. We present the theory which allows us to describe such systems as a spin chain where the exchange coefficients are determined by the trapping geometry, and comment on the experimental feasibility of these models. We then proceed to apply our formalism to different dynamical problems, where the strength of the interactions between the atoms in the trap plays a fundamental role. We find that interesting effects - ranging from changes in magnetic correlations to impurity oscillations and spin-charge separation - arise in this context. Additionally, we perform studies of the static correlations and many-body dynamics of bosonic systems away from the strongly interacting limit.
Realizing time crystals in discrete quantum few-body systems
The exotic phenomenon of time translation symmetry breaking under periodic
driving - the time crystal - has been shown to occur in many-body systems even
in clean setups where disorder is absent. In this work, we propose the
realization of time-crystals in few-body systems, both in the context of
trapped cold atoms with strong interactions and of a circuit of superconducting
qubits. We show how these two models can be treated in a fairly similar way by
adopting an effective spin chain description, to which we apply a simple
driving protocol. We focus on the response of the magnetization in the presence
of imperfect pulses and interactions, and show how the results can be
interpreted, in the cold atomic case, in the context of experiments with
trapped bosons and fermions. Furthermore, we provide a set of realistic
parameters for the implementation of the superconducting circuit.Comment: 6 pages, 4 figure

This dissertation approaches the confrontation of gender violence from the analysis of seven institutions in Porto Alegre: Casa de Referência da Mulher – Mulheres Mirabal; Clínica Feminista na perspectiva da Interseccionalidade (CliFI); Coletivo Nós, seguras; GRITAM – Grupo Interdisciplinar de Trabalho e Assessoria Jurídica para Mulheres; Patrulha Maria da Penha; Projeto Gradiva; e Themis – Gênero, Justiça e Direitos Humanos. Therefore, the investigation considers that the confrontation of violence occurred, from the beginning, in networks permeated by communication processes. The research aims to investigate the possible contributions of public communication in institutions that work to stop violence against women and promote life in Porto Alegre. The methodological procedures consist of exploratory research on the context of violence; historical-descriptive mapping of events related to coping with violence; and case study of the mapped institutions. The work is divided into four parts that operate from death to life, and from life to communication networks. The first part, Corpo-Morte, addresses the socio-historical context and implications of gender-based violence (BANDEIRA, 2014; BIROLI e MIGUEL, 2014; BUTLER, 2018; GAGO, 2020; hooks, 2019; MACHADO; 2010; SEGATO, 2012). The second part, Corpo-Vida, presents the contributions of feminist theory and practice in coping with violence (CARRERA, 2021; CRENSHAW, 2002; hooks, 2020; PINTO, 2003). The third part, CorpoRede, highlights the potential of public communication (ESTEVES, 2011); MAIA, 2008; WEBER e LOCATELLI, 2022) and public communication networks (WEBER, 2017) to keep the topic in the public debate and develops an initial analysis of the mapped institutions. Finally, the fourth part, Network for Combating Violence and Insurgence of Life (Reviva), submits the institutions to the analysis categories of public communication and feminist studies. The results of this research demonstrate the importance of integrated and interdisciplinary procedures to fight gender violence and propose that public communication networks guided by love ethic (hooks, 2020) represent a counterproposal to hierarchical power based on oppression
Dynamics of spin and density fluctuations in strongly interacting few-body systems
The decoupling of spin and density dynamics is a remarkable feature of
quantum one-dimensional many-body systems. In a few-body regime, however,
little is known about this phenomenon. To address this problem, we study the
time evolution of a small system of strongly interacting fermions after a
sudden change in the trapping geometry. We show that, even at the few-body
level, the excitation spectrum of this system presents separate signatures of
spin and density dynamics. Moreover, we describe the effect of considering
additional internal states with SU(N) symmetry, which ultimately leads to the
vanishing of spin excitations in a completely balanced system.Comment: 32 pages, 6 figure
