1848/1849-es öreghonvédek törvényszéki drámája : a "Gazdagh-féle bűnpör" a sajtó tükrében
On 12th April 1885 a dead body was found in Budapest, on an empty plot near the Honvédmenház (Veterans’ Home) on Soroksári Road. The deceased was identified as Imre Gazdagh, a lieutenant in the 1848–49 Hungarian Revolution, murdered in cold blood. While such criminal incidents were not uncommon in the era of Dualism, the “Murder on Soroksári Road”, and the following “Gazdagh Trial” became one of the cases of the 1880s surrounded by high public interest, similarly to the Tiszaeszlár Affair and the murder of György Mailáth. The study presents the tragic incident that befell the veterans of 1848–49, and the monthslong investigation that turned the lives of the inhabitants of the Veterans’ Home upside down. Several former soldiers had been imprisoned, interrogated, had the details of their private lives publicized, largely due to the uniqueness of the case, the city’s hunger for a scandal, and the profit-motivated journalists. Through this case we can gain insight into the personnel changes at the Veterans’ Home in 1885-1886, which reveals multidirectional mobility in the institution. Many of those involved in the events left, either out of necessity or the desire to change their lives for the better, and found new homes with a patron or their families. The Gazdagh case also revealed the deaths of two officers, and shed light on the familial relations, circumstances and opportunities of the soldiers. Further research on these might clarify the details of entering, staying at, and leaving the Veterans’ Home. It is also worthwhile to examine the relationship between the veterans living inside and outside the institution, since the trial raised the question if the victim was murdered by an inhabitant of the Veteran’s Home to improve his own circumstances by taking over the role of the deceased
Flottalázadás a globalizáció és a kolonizáció összefüggéseiben : a brazil haditengerészet lázadása, 1893-1894
The study aims to explore the history of the naval revolt that broke out in Rio de Janeiro, the capital of Brazil, in 1893, keeping in mind the aspects of globalization, immigration, and colonization. The six-month-long conflict was of international significance, some of its effects (for example, on world trade) could be felt in other parts of the world. The case was widely covered by the world press: the news reached England, France, Germany, Italy, and the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, among others. Immigrants were also involved in the civil war, often unwittingly: they were present at the siege of Rio de Janeiro, they were included in military recruitment, and with the rise of Lusophobia, Portuguese immigrants became victims of violent atrocities. The civil war caused many diplomatic problems. The study aims to point out that in historical studies it is worth paying attention to the elements set in motion by the events of a civil war, because due to globalization we can get a momentary view of a country’s network of interests and relationships by looking at the external reactions
Biomimetikus katalizátorok fejlesztése mikrofluidikai reaktorokhoz: Development of Biomimetic catalysts for microfluidic reactors
During discovery of drug molecules, metabolism studies are important topic, which are usually carried out in vivo or in vitro using cell based systems. Instead of using living organism-based methods biomimetic systems can offer a promising alternative. Synthetic metalloporphyrins as biomimetic catalysts have strong structural similarity to the active site of the CYP enzymes responsible for the oxidative metabolism of drugs. The applicability and robustness of the porphyrin catalysts can be improved by immobilization techniques involving rationally functionalized solid carriers. The use of magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) as catalyst carrier provides unique benefits, while the trapping, isolation or separation of the particles from the reaction mixture can be achieved with magnetic field. During my research, MNPs were prepared, modified with reactive function groups for immobilization of porphyrin catalyst, and inert groups which can influence the function group density. The fine-tuned immobilized catalyst was chosen and applied for continuous-flow microfluidical experiment. By the application of the developed biomimetic catalyst and reactor system, drug metabolites can be produced in very rapid way for further stages of drug discovery.

A gyógyszervegyületek kifejlesztése során az egyik kritikus fontosságú terület a metabolizmus kutatás, mely során jellemzően in vivo és in vitro májsejt alapú rendszereket használnak, melyek számos hátránnyal rendelkeznek. Az ún. biomimetikus eljárások ígéretes alternatívát jelenthetnek, melyek a kiemelkedő katalitikus hatással bíró szintetikus metalloporfirinekkel megvalósíthatók. A porfirinek alkalmazása a szerkezeti hasonlóságukon alapszik a metabolizmusban részvevő CYP enzimek aktív helyén található hem csoporttal.
Intracellular distribution of chromium and toxicity on growth in Chlorella pyrenoidosa
The effect of chromium on the growth response on green alga Chlorella pyrenoidosa were examined. An increase in chromium concentration caused a significant reduction in the growth of Chlorella cells, and the the EC50value was 1.6 mg/L, while lethal concentration of chromium appears to be approximately 20 mg/L. We have investigated the intracellular distribution of chromium, and the elementel composition of the treated cells. Bulk of the chromium is localized in the cell wall, while the membrane and soluble fraction contains the smaller part of the total chromium
A nemzetközi fejlesztési együttműködés és regionális eloszlása Vietnamban
A nemzetközi fejlesztési együttműködés témájában a kutatók döntő többsége – alapvetően Robert Cassen érvelésit követve (Cassen.
