Preparation and keeping quality of hot smoked mackerel
A method has been standardised for the production of smoke cured mackerel by dry salting in the ratio of 1:8 salt to fish followed by smoking in a traditional smoke chamber at 70±5°C for 5h. The smoke was generated by burning moist coconut husk and saw dust. The product obtained by this method had shelf-lives of 105, 95 and 6 days in chilled storage (0 to 2°C) refrigerated storage (10±2°C) and at room temperature (29±2°C) respectively

users. However, this approach involves some hidden risks mainly due to the inherent insecurity of the air medium and the vulnerabilities of the wireless systems.
Thus, in this paper we investigate the security gaps and considerations
which should be taken into account for an m-government system. Finally, we
provide a list of security guidelines and policies, which the users of the system
should be aware of and follow in order to avoid security attacks
Radiological outcomes of AO type B and C distal radius fractures managed with 2.7 mm volar locking plate fixation in geriatric population: a retrospective analysis
Background: Distal end radius fractures are one of the most common fractures. Compared to younger patients, elderly with distal radius fractures with osteoporosis and higher comminution compromise the treatment outcomes. Anatomic reduction with stable fixation is usually the choice of treatment for displaced intra-articular fractures. While osteoporosis and poor bone quality hamper fracture stabilization, locking compression plates (LCPs) provide enhanced stability and axial loading force as compared to conventional plates. The current study retrospectively analysed the postoperative radiological outcomes in a 2.7 mm volar LCP system used for internal stabilisation of intra articular distal radius fractures.Methods: A retrospective study was conducted in the Sanjay Gandhi institute of trauma and orthopaedics, Bangalore from June 2018 to July 2020. All Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) type B and C distal radius fractures of patients aged 60 and above who underwent 2.7 mm volar locking plate fixation during that time period were analysed with X-rays at immediate post-operative, six weeks and three months. The radiological outcome was scored based on Sarmiento’s modification of Lindstorm criteria.Results: The mean immediate post-operative radial shortening, decrease in radial deviation and loss of palmar tilt were 3.80±1.03, 4.38±1.05 and 3.97±1.02, respectively. The corresponding values at last follow up were 4.31±1.12, 6.19±1.02 and 4.76±0.99, respectively. No statistically significant difference (p=0.949; p=1.0; p=0.996) in radial shortening, loss of radial deviation and decrease in palmar angulation was seen till the final follow up. Sarmiento’s modification of Lindstorm criteria showed a good radiological outcome in 80% and excellent in 20%.Conclusions: Use of 2.7 mm volar LCP showed good to excellent post-operative radiological outcomes in geriatric population. The fracture reduction achieved in the immediate post-operative period is maintained throughout the follow up duration without any significant change
Long-term application of fertilizers on chemical and biological properties of an Alfisol
A long term fertilizer experiment (30 years) at Bengaluru had been started during 1986 with eleven treat-ments and four replications in an Alfisol on finger millet (Elusine coracana) maize (Zea mays) cropping sequence. The results of the ongoing experiment after 27 cycles of finger millet and maize on changes in soil chemical proper-ties revealed that application of inorganics alone resulted in impaired soil fertility status (soil pH, organic carbon con-tent and available nutrients in soil were decreased) over balanced fertilizer application. There was a decline in soil reaction over the initial status and the maximum decrease was observed in 100 % NP (-1.46), 100 % N (-1.20) and other treatments. Application of 100 % NPK+FYM+lime maintained the soil pH (6.2) compared to all the other treat-ments. Organic carbon content of soil in all the treatments was higher (6.46 g kg-1) compared to the initial status; however, maximum increase in organic carbon content was registered on application of NPK+FYM. Application of 10 t ha-1 along with recommended dose of fertilizers and lime was found promising in term of sustaining crop and soil productivity
Synthesis and antihistaminic activity of 3H-benzo [4,5] thieno [2,3-d][1,2,3] triazin-4-ones
AbstractIn the present study the antihistaminic activity of tricyclic benzothieno 1,2,3-triazine derivatives namely CP-3 (3-(phenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro,3H-benzo[4,5] thieno [2,3-d][1,2,3] triazin-4-one), CP-5 (3-(3-methyl phenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro,3H-benzo[4,5] thieno [2,3-d][1,2,3] triazin-4-one) and CP-8 (3-(4-chloro phenyl)-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro,3H-benzo[4,5] thieno [2,3-d][1,2,3] triazin-4-one) were evaluated using in vitro (isolated guinea pig ileum) and in vivo (bronchodilator activity in guinea pigs) models and the sedative potential of the test compounds were evaluated using actophotometer in mice. In in vitro antihistaminic study, the CP-3, CP-5, CP-8 and chlorpheniramine maleate (CPM) have shown a rightward shift in concentration response curve (CRC) of histamine with a change in EC50 values of histamine in all the four tissue preparations. The slope obtained in the schild plot indicated that CP-5, CP-8 and CPM were competitive in nature for H1-receptors. However, CP-3 has shown non-competitive antagonism. In in vivo antihistaminic study, the CP-3, CP-5, CP-8 and CPM have shown mean increase in exposition time against histamine challenge compared to control group (p<0.001). All the test drugs (10mg/kg) and CPM (2mg/kg) have offered a significant (p<0.001) protection against preconvulsive dyspnoea (PCD) compared to control. In conclusion, all the test drugs have shown very good antihistaminic activity and the test drugs have very little sedative action compared to CPM

RESULTS OBTAINED HAVE SHOWN THAT ERODED MATERIAL WAS RICHER IN ALL PLANT FOOD INGREDIENTS THAN IN ORIGINAL SOIL. THE LOSS OF NUTRIENT DEPENDS NOT ONLY ON THE INTENSITY OF RAINS, BUT ALSO ON THE TIME DURING WHICH THEY OCCUR. IN TERMS OF ENRICHMENT RATIOS, NUTRIENT LOSSES INDICATE THAT THE AVAILABLE PHOSPHOROUS SUFFERS MAXIMUM AMONGST THE NUTRIENTS STUDIED.
