The eccentricity in heavy-ion collisions from Color Glass Condensate initial conditions
The eccentricity in coordinate-space at midrapidity of the overlap zone in
high-energy heavy-ion collisions predicted by the -factorization
formalism is generically larger than expected from scaling with the number of
participants. We provide a simple qualitative explanation of the effect which
shows that it is not caused predominantly by edge effects. We also show that it
is quite insensitive to ``details'' of the unintegrated gluon distribution
functions such as the presence of leading-twist shadowing and of an extended
geometric scaling window. The larger eccentricity increases the azimuthal
asymmetry of high transverse momentum particles. Finally, we point out that the
longitudinal structure of the Color Glass Condensate initial condition for
hydrodynamics away from midrapidity is non-trivial but requires understanding

Improvising Age Verification Technologies in Canada: Technical, Regulatory and Social Dynamics
Age verification, which is a mandatory legal requirement for delivering
certain age-appropriate services or products, has recently been emphasized
around the globe to ensure online safety for children. The rapid advancement of
artificial intelligence has facilitated the recent development of some
cutting-edge age-verification technologies, particularly using biometrics.
However, successful deployment and mass acceptance of these technologies are
significantly dependent on the corresponding socio-economic and regulatory
context. This paper reviews such key dynamics for improvising age-verification
technologies in Canada. It is particularly essential for such technologies to
be inclusive, transparent, adaptable, privacy-preserving, and secure. Effective
collaboration between academia, government, and industry entities can help to
meet the growing demands for age-verification services in Canada while

PEMBUATAN KARBON AKTIF DARI CANGKANG BUAH KARET DENGAN AKTIVATOR H3PO4
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakterisasi dan daya serap karbon
aktif yang dibuat dari cangkang kulit buah karet dengan aktivator H3PO4. Proses
karbonisasi karbon aktif dilakukan menggunakan alat furnace selama 1 jam dengan suhu
700 oC. Selanjutnya dihaluskan dan diayak dengan ukuran 100 mesh dan diaktivasi selam
24 jam dengan larutan H3PO4 menggunkan variasi konsentrasi 7 %, 8 %, 9 %, 10 % dan
11 %. Hasil karakterisasi yang didapat kadar air terendah dimiliki sampel 11 % sebesar
2,85 % dan zat teruap terendah dimiliki sampel 11 % sebesar 2,15 %. Kadar abu terendah
dimiliki sampel 7 % sebesar 3,96 %. Daya serap maksimum terhadap iodium pada
konsentrasi 11 % yakni sebesar 987,24 mg/g. Kondisi optimum pembuatan karbon aktif
dengan aktivator H3PO4 dalam penelitian ini adalah pada dengan konsentrasi 11 %, kadar
air sebesar 2,85 %, kadar abu 6,86 %, zat teruap 2,15 %, daya serap iodium 987,24 mg/g,
dan daya serap metilen biru 98,98 mg/g

The CLEO-III Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detector
The CLEO-III Detector upgrade for charged particle identification is
discussed. The RICH design uses solid LiF crystal radiators coupled with
multi-wire chamber photon detectors, using TEA as the photosensor, and
low-noise Viking readout electronics. Results from our beam test at Fermilab
