    CUSTOS COM SEGURANÇA PATRIMONIAL PRIVADA E O DESEMPENHO ORGANIZACIONAL EM UMA COMPANHIA ENERGÉTICA DO CEARÁ

    A gestão dos custos com segurança patrimonial é uma técnica para gerenciar os gastos de proteção do patrimônio, que, positiva ou negativamente, podem influenciar no desempenho organizacional. O elevado custo desses serviços tem levado as distribuidoras de energia elétrica a implementar novos modelos de vigilância patrimonial, visando à redução de perda por furto de materiais ou ligações clandestinas. O objetivo geral deste estudo se norteia em investigar a relação entre o custo com segurança patrimonial e o desempenho organizacional da Cia. Energética do Ceará. Pesquisa de natureza quantitativa, com tipologia descritiva e quanto aos meios, de um estudo bibliográfico, documental e de campo. Quanto a sua estratégia, desenvolveu-se um estudo na COELCE, entre os anos de 2004 a 2013. Para análise dos dados, utilizaram-se as técnicas estatísticas de análise de correlação entre o custo com segurança patrimonial e os indicadores de desempenho selecionados para o estudo. Verificou-se, portanto, que existe correlação negativa moderada entre à variável custo com segurança patrimonial e às variáveis ROA e DEC, positiva baixa com a variável EBITDA e negativa moderada com as variáveis FEC, IRV e ISC. Conclui-se, portanto, que somente o ROA e DEC estão alinhados com as hipóteses formuladas

    The aim of this research was analyzing which factors interfere in process management of a Federal University. The quantitative research analyzed data collected through a survey applied to a sample of 78 workers from Federal University of Ceará (UFC). The results confirmed all hypotheses related to benefits and facilitators of the process management. The hypothesis about barriers was rejected given to the federal workers appear to be indifferent to the difficulties presented in this research. We conclude that process management is seen as a positive intervention to public administration and there is receptivity from workers in order to debureaucratization can become management routine, satisfying costumers from public institutions

    Corporate Governance Under the Perspective of Isomorphism: A BM&FBovespa Banking Industry Approach

    <p>The study aims to analyze the disclosure of corporate governance practices by the boards of the companies listed in the banking sector of BM&amp;FBovespa, according to the recommendations of the Code of IBGC. Additionally, it was investigated the isomorphic posture in relation to companies that also have shares traded in the New York Stock Exchange. This research was conducted in the study of all 28 financial institutions listed in BM&amp;FBovespa. This research is descriptive, which adopts the documental analysis and uses the technique of content analysis for data treatment. As for the approach or the nature of the study, the research makes use of qualitative and quantitative methods. It was analyzed 41 corporate governance practices recommended by IBGC. It was established a level of disclosure practices adopted for each company, using the following criteria: were assigned the value 1 (one) for each disclosed practice and assigned 0 (zero) for each practice which was not disclosed or not adopted by the company. The study collected 1148 observations of firms through the recommendations of IBGC. To analyze the results, the corporate governance practices were analyzed in general and segment listing. It was found that the companies have, mostly, low level of disclosure. These companies still have a long way to go to increase transparency and strengthen the capital market to interested users. The isomorphic posture has not been confirmed in this study by the companies of banking sector.</p

    Fatores críticos na implantação do Balanced Scorecard-BSC

    Several issues can be raised regarding the critical factors for implementing management models such as the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). The success demands the understanding of the model by the implementation team and the workers involved. The entertainment industry, to which the Beach Park Hotel and Tourism, presents peculiarities that make the implementation of a management model a bigger challenge, and a segment that tends to grow at a rate of 10, 6% per year until 2016. Focusing the organization and context, this study aims to identify the critical factors of implementation of the BSC, through a case study, descriptive. The results showed the following critical factors for the implementation of the BSC: the absence of a culture of strategic planning, the complexity of the business and project, the history of a management style centralized and authoritarian, the centralization of the BSC at the top, restriction of management time to devote to the project; the absence of an information system, to support the project; not performing training and the lack of external consultants. In promoting organizational change, lacked adequate involvement of the leadership and and the support of the management of the dome. In successful cases, the history of management-oriented learning serves as the basis for a proper definition of the critical needs of the organization, and defining the appropriate indicators, factors that, in the case in focus, proved absent in a company without culture of planning.Inúmeras questões podem ser levantadas acerca dos fatores críticos para a implantação de modelos de gestão como o Balanced Scorecard (BSC). O êxito demanda a compreensão do modelo, por parte da equipe de implantação e dos colaboradores envolvidos. Ressalta-se que a indústria do entretenimento, em que se insere o Beach Park Hotéis e Turismo, possui particularidades que tornam ainda mais desafiadora a implantação do BSC, sendo um segmento que tenderá a crescer a uma taxa de 10,6% ao ano até 2016. Tendo por foco esta organização e contexto, este estudo tem como objetivo identificar os fatores críticos da implantação do BSC, mediante um estudo de caso, descritivo. Os resultados evidenciaram os seguintes fatores críticos no insucesso na implantação do BSC: a ausência de uma cultura de planejamento estratégico; a complexidade do negócio e do projeto; o histórico de um estilo de gestão centralizador e autoritário; a centralização do BSC no topo; restrição de tempo dos gestores para se dedicar ao projeto; a falta de um sistema de informação, para dar suporte ao projeto; a não realização de treinamentos e o despreparo da consultoria externa. Na promoção da mudança organizacional, faltaram o envolvimento adequado das lideranças e o apoio da gestão da cúpula. Em casos de sucesso, o histórico de uma gestão voltada para o aprendizado, serve como base para a definição adequada das necessidades críticas da organização, e na definição dos indicadores adequados, fatores que, no caso em foco, mostraram-se ausentes em uma empresa sem cultura de planejamento.

mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;} --> <!--[endif] --> <p>Inúmeras questões podem ser levantadas acerca dos fatores críticos para a implantação de modelos de gestão como o <em>Balanced Scorecard</em> (<em>BSC</em>). O êxito demanda a compreensão do modelo, por parte da equipe de implantação e dos colaboradores envolvidos. Ressalta-se que a indústria do entretenimento, em que se insere o Beach Park Hotéis e Turismo, possui particularidades que tornam ainda mais desafiadora a implantação do BSC, sendo um segmento que tenderá a crescer a uma taxa de 10,6% ao ano até 2016. Tendo por foco esta organização e contexto, este estudo tem como objetivo identificar os fatores críticos da implantação do BSC, mediante um estudo de caso, descritivo. Os resultados evidenciaram os seguintes fatores críticos no insucesso na implantação do BSC: a ausência de uma cultura de planejamento estratégico; a complexidade do negócio e do projeto; o histórico de um estilo de gestão centralizador e autoritário; a centralização do BSC no topo; restrição de tempo dos gestores para se dedicar ao projeto; a falta de um sistema de informação, para dar suporte ao projeto; a não realização de treinamentos e o despreparo da consultoria externa. Na promoção da mudança organizacional, faltaram o envolvimento adequado das lideranças e o apoio da gestão da cúpula. Em casos de sucesso, o histórico de uma gestão voltada para o aprendizado, serve como base para a definição adequada das necessidades críticas da organização, e na definição dos indicadores adequados, fatores que, no caso em foco, mostraram-se ausentes em uma empresa sem cultura de planejamento.</p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom: 6pt; text-align: justify; line-height: normal;"> </p

    A FASE DE PRÉ-INSTITUCIONALIZAÇÃO DO PROGRAMA DE APOIO AO INTERCAMBISTA (PAI) E OS ENTRAVES À SUA OBJETIVAÇÃO

    The Exchange students Support Program (PAI) belongs to the Faculty of Economics, Administration, Actuarial and Accounting (FEAAC) of the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and aims to help and guide international academic mobility students in the UFC during their first Moments in Fortaleza, providing support, and encouraging the exchange of experiences between the exchange students and the regular students of UFC. This study aims to analyze the factors that configure the program in the pre-institutionalization phase, according to the model of Tolbert and Zucker (1999). The following specific criteria were established: i) to verify the evolution of the determining factors in the verification of the pre-institutionalization phase of the program over the three years; ii) to identify the obstacles to progress in the objectification phase and iii) to verify the factors that contribute to the objectification phase of the program. This research has a qualitative approach. Regarding the outcomes, it is exploratory, and in relation to means, it is descriptive, with field and document research. The data collected was analyzed using Bardinn‘s (2016) content analysis. The research contributes with a deepening of the process of institutionalization of support for foreign students at a Brazilian University, a subject with little dissemination or exploration in the national research so far. It is concluded that there was an evolution of the factors that determined the pre-institutionalization phase of the program. It was observed that one of the main factors that poses obstacles in the objectification phase of the program is the lack of a physical structure, and that one of the Factors that contribute to the objectification phase is monitoring through comparison with the support for foreign students offered by other Brazilian or foreign universities. In terms of limitations of the research, the number of interviewees was small, and future research, a suggestion would be to investigate the perceptions of teachers, civil servants and managers on the subject.El Programa de Apoyo al Intercambio (PAI) es perteneciente a la Facultad de Economía, Administración, Actuaria y Contabilidad (FEAAC) de la Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC) y tiene el objetivo de ayudar y guiar estudiantes de movilidad académica internacional en la UFC en sus primeros momentos en Fortaleza, forneciendo apoyo e incentivando intercambios de experiencias entre los académicos extranjeros y los de la UFC. El presente estudio tiene el objetivo de analizar los factores que configuran el programa en la fase de pré-institucionalización. La presente investigación es de abordaje cualitativo. En relación a los fines, esta investigación es descriptiva y cuanto a los medios es documental y un estudio de caso. Ya la apreciación de los datos colectados fue hecha por medio de análisis de contenido. La investigación contribuyó profundamente con el proceso de institucionalización del soporte al estudiante extranjero en una universidad brasileña, temática poco difundida y explorada en investigaciones nacionales hasta ahora. Se concluye que hubo una evolución de los factores que determinaron la fase de pré-institucionalización del programa; se percibió que uno de los principales factores que causa traba a la fase de objetivación de este es la falta de una estructura física y se constató que uno de los factores que coadyuva a la fase de objetivación es el monitoreo por medio de la comparación con el soporte a los estudiantes extranjeros hecho por otras universidades brasileñas o extranjeras.     NEOTROPICAL ALIEN MAMMALS: a data set of occurrence and abundance of alien mammals in the Neotropics

    Biological invasion is one of the main threats to native biodiversity. For a species to become invasive, it must be voluntarily or involuntarily introduced by humans into a nonnative habitat. Mammals were among first taxa to be introduced worldwide for game, meat, and labor, yet the number of species introduced in the Neotropics remains unknown. In this data set, we make available occurrence and abundance data on mammal species that (1) transposed a geographical barrier and (2) were voluntarily or involuntarily introduced by humans into the Neotropics. Our data set is composed of 73,738 historical and current georeferenced records on alien mammal species of which around 96% correspond to occurrence data on 77 species belonging to eight orders and 26 families. Data cover 26 continental countries in the Neotropics, ranging from Mexico and its frontier regions (southern Florida and coastal-central Florida in the southeast United States) to Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay, and the 13 countries of Caribbean islands. Our data set also includes neotropical species (e.g., Callithrix sp., Myocastor coypus, Nasua nasua) considered alien in particular areas of Neotropics. The most numerous species in terms of records are from Bos sp. (n = 37,782), Sus scrofa (n = 6,730), and Canis familiaris (n = 10,084); 17 species were represented by only one record (e.g., Syncerus caffer, Cervus timorensis, Cervus unicolor, Canis latrans). Primates have the highest number of species in the data set (n = 20 species), partly because of uncertainties regarding taxonomic identification of the genera Callithrix, which includes the species Callithrix aurita, Callithrix flaviceps, Callithrix geoffroyi, Callithrix jacchus, Callithrix kuhlii, Callithrix penicillata, and their hybrids. This unique data set will be a valuable source of information on invasion risk assessments, biodiversity redistribution and conservation-related research. There are no copyright restrictions.
