    Improving Grade X Students' Speaking Competence in Reporting a Procedure Text by Using Video

    This study was carried out to discover students' speaking competence in reporting a procedure text by using video. It was a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject was students of Grade X, State Senior High School (Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri: SMAN) 5 Binjai, which consisted of 42 students. The research was conducted in two cycles and each cycle consisted of three meetings. The instruments used to collect the data were speaking tests as quantitative data and Observation Sheet, Interview, Questionnaire, and Diary Notes as qualitative data. The results of the speaking tests showed that the students' score improved in every test. The mean of the students' score in Orientation test was 51.17, the mean of the students' score in Cycle I was 69.05, and the mean in Cycle II was 80.31. The mean score in Cycle II was the highest, so it can be said that the students' speaking competence improved from 51.17 to 80.31. Based on the Observation Sheet, Interview, Questionnaire, and Diary Notes, it was found that the teaching-learning process ran well. The findings of the study indicate that using Video significantly improved the students' speaking competence. So, English teachers are suggested to use Video in order to improve the students' speaking competence in reporting a procedure text

    A Review on Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer as Wrapping Structures For Pipeline

    To maintain the continuous product flow in the pipe, the durability of the pipe structure is achieved through pipe insulation. The composite material will be used as the main material, since it may have the combined characteristics of the constituents or have substantially different properties than the individual constituents. Replacing the damaged pipe with a new one will not only consume high cost but also will create a complication for product flow. As to alleviate such situations this research focusses on using the carbon fiber as the wrapping material. To identify the suitable design and optimization of laminated carbon fiber on piping systems, the defect, leakage and imperfection on pipe should be identified. The effect of different laminate optimization through Classical Laminate Theory CLT and experimental data too need to be considered as it changes the mechanical properties of the composite material. The microstructure of the composite too will be validated as an extra reference for the theoretical and experimental data on its effect in the microstructure after the loadin

    CV Langganan is a manufacturing company in West Jakarta area that has existed since 2001. The company is engaged in the production of jewelry made from gold and gems. The production process is done when the stock in the store has been sold, the jewelry products produced have different specifications between each other. In the process of making jewelry there must be costs incurred by the company, the cost is often known as the cost of production. But now the company in determining the cost of production has not been based on the three elements of the cost of production, namely the cost of raw materials, direct labor costs, and factory overhead costs. This resulted in the company having difficulty knowing the value of the profit earned and can not determine the selling price of the product. Based on the impact of existing problems, the company can apply the calculation of cost of production by using the full costing method. By using this method the company can calculate all the elements of production cost into the cost of goods. Based on the results of tests conducted on the application built, states that this application has been able to produce a report on the cost of production

    Kajian Kinerja Terminal Talangagung Di Kepanjen Kabupaten Malang

    Terminal Talangagung terletak di Kepanjen, Kabupaten Malang, terminal ini berfungsi untuk menunjang tranportasi umum di wilayah-wilayah kabupaten, tetapi sarana dan prasarana yang ada di terminal talangagung masih kurang memadai untuk para penggunanya, dari mulai kondisi fisik terminal, petugas, sampai trayek di terminal tersebut masih kurang diperhatikan Kenyamanan dan kelayakannya. Dengan permasalahan tersebut peneliti ingin mengetahui, kinerja operasional terminal Talangagung Kabupaten Malang, kinerja pelayanan Terminal Talangagung, serta strategi pengembangan Terminal Talangagung. Dalam kajian ini peneliti menggunakan metode Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor kinerja penting apa yang harus ditunjukkan oleh UPTD Terminal Talangagung dalam memenuhi kepuasan para pengguna jasa mereka (Penumpang angkutan umum) dengan menggunakan sampel sebanyak 330 responden. Dari analisis tersebut dilakukan analisis pengembangan menggunakan analisis SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, dan threats), IFAS (internal factor analysis summary) – EFAS (external factor analysis summary) variabel untuk SWOT diambil dari analisis kinerja, metode IPA, dan hasil kuisioner dengan responden sebanyak 100 orang, dan juga digunakan analisis dengan metode Headway untuk mengetahui waktu antara kedatangan atau keberangkatan dari kendaraan pertama dan kedatangan atau keberangkatan dari kendaraan berikutnya yang diukur pada titik tertentu. Survei headway di lakukan pada pintu kedatangan dan pintu keberangkatan angkutan di dalam terminal Talangagung. Dari anilisis Headway secara umum dapat disimpulkan bahwa headway rata-rata yang terjadi banyak dijumpai headway yang dibawah dan diatas standar headway ideal SK Dirijen Perhubungan Darat No 687 Tahun 2002 yaitu, 5-10 menit. Dari hasil kinerja pelayanan Terminal Talangagung, yang di lihat dari hasil analisis IPA (Importance Performance Analysis), didapatkan rata-rata tingkat kesesuaian sebesar 66,09%. Hasil dari analisis metode strategi pengembangan dengan menngunakan metode SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats) dan IFAS (Internal Factor Analysis Summary), EFAS (External Factor Analysis Summary), pengembangan pada Terminal Talangagung didapatkan hasil masuk dalam kuadran III (Survival) berada di ruang F (Guirelle Strategy), strategi yang dilakukan adalah memperbaiki tata letak dan lokasi Terminal Talangagung, peningkatan kualitas petugas, pembenahan atau menambah pengadaan fasilitas pelayanan penumpang, meningkatkan kredibilitas melalui pemenuhan kebutuhan penumpang, dan petugas bertindak tegas membubarkan terminal bayangan

    Effects of light intensity on Orthosiphon stamineus Benth. seedlings treated with different organic fertilizers.

    The main objective of this study was to investigate the effects of varying light intensities and different organic fertilizers on the growth performance of O. stamineus seedlings through measurement of Relative Height Growth Rate (RHGR) and biomass production. Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) was used. Orthosiphon stamineus was arranged accordingly into three blocks or replicates. The three blocks represented the percentage light intensity. Block 1 (30% of light), Block 2 (50% of light) and Block 3 (100% of light). Each Block had four treatments and 25 plants of O. stamineus. The treatments were chicken dung, cow dung, oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) and control. The four treatments were arranged randomly in each block. Growth parameters measured were plant height, biomass (aerial portion, root biomass and total biomass within sixth month’s period. The 50% Relative Light Intensity (RLI) was better than 30 and 100% RLI. The chicken dung is better than oil palm EFB and cow dung
