    Comparative Study between Yoni Dhavan, Oral Medicine and both therapy in the treatment of Swetapradara

    Swetapradara is a common and major problem in our country of female especially reproductive age. Total patients (60) were divided into three group i.e.  Gr-A, Gr- B and Gr- C with clinical features of white vaginal discharge, itching of vulva, burning pain in vagina, low back pain, general weakness.Gr-A was treated with Yoni Dhavan (Vaginal irrigation) by a compound decoction. Gr- B was treated with oral medicine by Pusyanuga Churan.Gr- C was treated with both therapies i.e., Yoni Dhavan & Oral medicine. This comparative clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Gr-C which were confirmed that the effectiveness was better than other groups in the management of Swetapradara. This study observe a highly significant reduction in mean scores of clinical feature and overall compliance to the treatment was excellent in the Gr-C  and p value of < 0.001 was considered highly significant

    Correlation of serum androgen and gonadotropin with anti-mullerian hormone in polycystic ovarian syndrome in Eastern Indian population

    Background: Ovarian steroidogenesis requires gonadotropin stimulation, Luteinizing Hormone (LH) is a key factor in the hyperandrogenaemia of the polycystic ovary syndrome. Progesterone is the primary regulator of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) pulse frequency; however, in the polycystic ovary syndrome, the GnRH pulse generator is relatively resistant to the negative feedback effects of progesterone.  Study aims to evaluate the association of Anti-mullerian hormone with serum androgen and gonadotropin level in adolescents and young women of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).Methods: This was a single centre observational Cross-sectional study carried out in the department of Endocrinology and metabolism, Medical College, Kolkata from March 2017 to January 2019. Total number of study subjects were 207 out of which 138 were cases.Results: The AMH had strong positive correlation with serum testosterone in both case and control groups (r 0.542, p<0.001 and r 0.57, p<0.001) respectively .After the adjustment of age and BMI , the AMH moderately positive  but extremely significant correlation with serum testosterone as compare to control.Conclusions: Hyperandrogenaemia and higher ratio of LH and FSH associated with higher serum AMH level is associated with the higher serum AMH in polycystic ovarian syndrome

    Effect of attachment strategies on bipartite networks

    Bipartite systems show remarkable variations in their topological asymptotic properties, e.g., in their degree distribution. Such variations depend on the underlying growth dynamics. A scenario of particular importance is when the two partitions of the bipartite structure do not grow at an equal rate. Here, we focus on the case where one of the partitions can be assumed to be fixed while the other partition grows in time as observed in the codon-gene or alphabet-word network. We show that subtle changes in growth dynamics, particularly in the attachment kernel, can lead to drastic changes of the emergent topological properties. We present a detail analysis of various growth strategies, including sequential and parallel addition of nodes, as well as with and without replacement attachment kernels. Analytical results have been compared with stochastic simulations as well as with real systems showing in all cases an excellent agreement

    Aim: Development of highly sensitive diagnostic nanoprobe for cancer imaging based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) platform. Materials & methods: Synthesis of novel squaraine dyes as a Raman signature molecule denoted as lipoic-squaraine-lipoic (LSL), propyl-squaraine-lipoic (PSL) and propyl-squaraine-propyl (PSP). The SERS-nanotag constructed with a Raman signature molecule which is attached on gold nanoparticle and further encapsulated with heterofunctionalized PEG. Antibody conjugation with best SERS-nanotag for target specific recognition. Results: SERS nanotag Au-LSL-PEG showed significant signal intensity and remarkable stability. Anti-EGF receptor and Her2-conjugated Au-LSL-PEG-nanotag were successfully applied for selective recognition of cancer cells like A549, OSCC and MCF7. Conclusion: The newly developed SERS-nanotag Au-LSL-PEG serves as a valuable tool for diagnostic detection of cancer cells, and may find potential applications for cancer screening in real patient samples.1110Nsciescopu

    Herein, we report fifty four membered, a new set of novel NIR Raman reporters and CyRLA-572 has been selected to be the best among them considering the signal intensity and stability. This new reporter molecule is an excellent partner with our in house Raman reporters (Cy7LA and Cy7.5LA). These three NIR Raman reporters are adsorbed on the gold nanoparticles to obtain their corresponding unique SERS fingerprints in which three individual characteristic peaks are capable to multiplex among them. These multiplexed Raman reporters are applied to develop biocompatible and specific targeting SERS nanotags after tagging with specific antibodies. These multiplex targeted SERS nanotags are applied to detect three targeting receptors in differentiated mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) consisting three germ layers such as ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm. After successful recognition of cells by SERS techniques, we detect simultaneously three germ layers in teratoma which is a monster tumor formed from mESC cells in animal xenograft model.11Nscopu

    Bolaforms B1, B2, and B3 of the formulas, Br-Me3N+(CH2)10N+Me3Br-, Br-Me3N+ (CH2)10OH, and Br-Me3N+ (CH2)10COO-Na+, respectively, were synthesized, and their properties in the bulk as well as at the air/aqueous NaBr (10 mM) solution interface have been studied. Their interactions with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) also have been investigated. Tensiometry, conductometry, spectrophotometry, and microcalorimetry techniques were used for characterization and estimation. Both pure bolaforms and their mixtures with SDS and CTAB have been found to self-aggregate, forming micelles in solution. The mixed systems of bolaform and SDS have been observed to form both micelles and vesicles. Their mutual interactions were synergistic, which at the interface was more spontaneous than in the bulk. The interfacial and bulk compositions of the mixed binary systems (bolaform and SDS or CTAB) with their associated interaction parameters have been estimated from the Rosen interaction model and the regular solution theory of Rubingh, respectively. The formed vesicles have been found to entrap the water-soluble dye, bromophenol blue, and the dye solubilized vesicles of B1−SDS and B2−SDS completely eluted out of the sephadex column proving their formation. A rough estimation of the size and polydispersity index of the formed micelles and vesicles has been made from DLS measurements
