    Biology Seminar is a course in the Biology Education Study Program of FKIP UMRAH that requires students to have the ability to apply scientific attitudes, perform scientific writing, and undertake scientific publications on a small scale. One of the learning strategies that can drive the achievement of learning outcomes is Research-Based Learning. One type of research-based learning is that which facilitates students doing small-scale research. Small-scale research is conducted by students applying scientific methods and train students to have a scientific attitude. This paper was derived based on descriptive research conducted to reveal how the defining problem skill formed by the research-based learning process. The instrument used was a questionnaire and documentations of 44 students brainstorming the topic. The assessment is given based on several indicators, namely the ability; explain the source of the problem, explain the problem phenomenon, identify more than one problem topic, choose the focus of the problem, construct the problem formulation, and find supporting references. From the study, it was known that students defining problem skills were in the high category

    Learning designing becomes an important part of the process to achieve learning objectives. Likewise, when teachers enhancestudents’  scientific literacy, the efforts must also be made from the learning design. The design of learning based on scientific literacy becomes very important when the orientation of science learning is not just to achieve cognitive aspects, but even more to the students' ability to apply science and have the attitude and ability to make decisions related to science in their lives. One important aspect in the design of learning based on scientific literacy is the relevance of the context of science to concepts or knowledge. For students inKepulauan Riau, the maritime context is very relevant to be discussed in the body of science. Through intensive training at SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang, biology and chemistry teachers were trained to design science literacy-based learning and maritime-based contexts. The learning design developed refers to the STL (science and technology literacy) approach which has 5 stages of learning, namely the contact stage, the elaboration stage (content), the curriculum stage, decision making, and the nexus stage. From the results of the mentoring by the training facilitator, 2 learning designs were produced (biology and chemistry subjects). The maritime context is integrated in the material Biodiversity (for Biology) and Petroleum (for Chemistry)

    Kemampuan literasi sains tidak hanya dibutuhkan oleh siswa, melainkan juga guru sebagai pengelola pembelajaran. Guru yang mampu mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis literasi sains, akan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains pada siswa. Oleh karena itu penting bagi guru mata pelajaran kimia untuk dapat mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis literasi. Program pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru mengembangkan bahan ajar kimia yang berbasis literasi sains. Guru dilatih untuk mengintegrasikan konteks kemaritiman kedalam salah satu materi kimia. Program ini diterapkan kepada 3 orang guru kimia di SMA Negeri 4 Tanjungpinang. Metode pelatihan menggunakan model siklus Plan, Do, Check, dan Act. Kegiatan yang dilakukan selama 4 minggu. Hasil dari pelatihan adalah dihasilkannya bahan ajar berupa modul kimia materi asam basa kelas XI dengan konteks lingkungan hidup gonggong

    The Need Analysis for Developing Microbiology Practical Program in the Topic of Heavy Metals Bioremediation Microorganisms

    The involvement of bacteria in lowering the concentrations of heavy metal contaminants in the environment is one of the most recent topics of discussion in the field of microbiology. This topic hasn't been brought up much in microbiology lectures thus far in the classroom. Therefore, it is important to analyze the requirement for the construction of a microbiology practical model with the focus on investigating heavy metal-bioremediating bacteria as environmental polluting agents. The curriculum papers in the biology education study program were analyzed using quantitative and descriptive research methodologies, with a focus on the microbiology course. Additionally, this study used both closed- and open-ended questions. We studied a total of 45 fourth-semester microbiology students from four different institutions, six microbiology lecturers from several Indonesian universities, and four biology teachers from Tanjung Pinang. It was discovered that environmental bioremediation needs to be covered in more detail in microbiology lectures and practicum for aspiring biology teachers based on an analysis of the curriculum, students' perspectives, and instructors' perceptions. Lectures on the subject of heavy metal bioremediation should cover it in detail and should provide useful knowledge. The teacher believes that lab exercises have the potential to be a successful teaching method for this subject

    Preparation of final report aims to evaluate the ability of the Circuit Breaker to protect short circuit that occurs in Substation Bungaran. Short circuit that occur can disrupt electrical power distribution to consumers. Therefore Vacuum Circuit Breaker is used as a protective device on the 20 kV system to dampen the arcing process arising from the short circuit. Evaluation is to determine the ability of the Circuit Breaker in overcoming the short circuit interruption that may occur in Substation Bungaran. The results obtained from the evaluation of the Circuit Breaker is still able to protect the disturbance that occurs in each feeder because the disturbance is still below the value of the Circuit Breaker breaking capacity of 25 kA, the maximum fault current that occurs only at 2145 A. Based on the age of the existing circuit breakers on each feeders, Circuit Breakers are still able to use at least 13 years again, because of the existing circuit breaker on the feeder while the age of only 12 years the investment of the circuit breaker that is 25 years old. If the Circuit Breaker reach the age of 13 years in the future then it must be the replacement Circuit Breaker, although Circuit Breaker that is still in good condition, for the safety of the equipment there.     Kantor Kelurahan Belakang Pondok Kecamatan Ratu Samban Kota Bengkulu merupakan satu instansi pemerintah yang aktivitasnya memberikan pelayanan kepada masyarakat.Setiap tahunnya pihak Kantor Kelurahan Belakang Pondok Bengkulu melakukan survei dengan memberikan kuesioner kepada masyarakat, hal ini guna untuk mengevaluasi pelayanan pegawai di lingkungan Kantor Kelurahan Belakang Pondok. Namun proses tersebut masih dilakukan secara manual, yaitu data survei tersebut dihitung satu persatu agar dapat memperoleh hasil penilaian masyarakat.Penerapan Algoritma K-Nearest Neighbor dalammengukur kepuasan masyarakat di Kantor Kelurahan Belakang Pondok Bengkulu dapat dijadikan suatu wadah dalam membantu mengukurtingkat kepuasan masyarakat terhadap pelayanan di Kantor Kelurahan Belakang Pondok Bengkulu dengan mengetahui tingkat kepuasan masyarakat berdasarkan 5 kategori penilaian yaitu Sangat Puas, Puas, Cukup Puas, Kurang Puas dan Tidak Puas.Berdasarkan hasil pengujian yang telah dilakukan dengan n Algoritma K-Nearest Neighbor melalui data lama yang digunakan sebanyak 132 data kuesioner penduduk tahun 2021, dan data uji yang digunakan sebanyak 40 data kuesioner penduduk tahun 2022.Maka diperoleh hasil tingkat kepuasan masyarakat di tahun 2022 dengan persentase Sangat Puas 4,32% meningkat dari periode sebelumnya, Puas -11,06% menurun dari periode sebelumnya, Cukup Puas 6,74% meningkat dari periode sebelumnya, Cukup Puas 0,00% tidak mengalami peningkatan atau penurunan, Kurang Puas 0,00% tidak mengalami peningkatan atau penurunan

    Analisis Kebutuhan dalam Pengembangan Asesmen Autentik Keterampilan Abad ke-21 untuk Mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi

    ABSTRACT. This study aims to analyze the need for the development of authentic 21st century skills assessment instruments for biology education students. This needs analysis research is an early stage of development research consisting of stages 1) need assessment, 2) identification of component scale (literature study), 3) developing and writing items' component, and 4) field testing, validity, and reliability analysis. This descriptive study uses a questionnaire technique to collect data in the form of lecturer and student responses regarding the need for authentic assessment instruments for 21st century skills. Data analysis was performed using simple statistics, namely percentage and also qualitatively. Based on the results of the research, it was found that prospective biology teacher students admitted that lecturers had already assessed 21st century skills, but the lecturers considered that they had not been maximal in assessing 21st century skills because the instruments used were modest, not developed properly (not validated), and have not measured the real skills of students. So that it is important to do research and development of authentic assessment instruments for 21st century skills. ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan instrumen asesmen autentik keterampilan abad ke-21 untuk mahasiswa pendidikan biologi. Penelitian analisis kebutuhan ini merupakan tahapan awal penelitian pengembangan yang terdiri dari tahap 1) need assessment, 2) identification of component scale (studi literatur), 3) developing and writing items’ component, dan 4) field testing, validity, and reliability analysis. Penelitian deskriptif ini menggunakan teknik angket untuk mengumpulkan data berupa respon dosen dan mahasiswa terkait kebutuhan instrumen asesmen autentik keterampilan abad ke-21. Analisis data dilakukan dengan statistik sederhana yaitu persentase dan juga secara kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa mahasiswa calon guru biologi mengaku dosen sudah melakukan penilaian keterampilan abad ke-21, namun dosen menganggap belum maksimal dalam menilai keterampilan abad ke-21 karena instrumen yang digunakan dibuat sekedarnya, tidak dikembangkan sebagaimana mestinya (tidak dilvalidasi), dan belum mengukur keterampilan mahasiswa yang sesungguhnya.     Telah dilaksanakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif mengenai profil literasi kemaritiman guru biologi dalam pembelajaran IPA SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bintan pada bulan Mei 2017. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana literasi kemaritiman guru biologi pada mata pelajaran IPA khususnya biologi  SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bintan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan  pengambilan data melalui angket dan wawancara terhadap responden, kemudian  dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa literasi kemaritiman guru biologi dalam pembelajaran IPA khususnya biologi SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Bintan masih tergolong renda
