    Fostering “pioneering minds” is extremely important especially in the effort to shift Malaysia towards an innovation-led economy. The Malaysian government is confident of achieving this transformation agenda provided that the human capital is leveraged in ensuring innovation at the highest level. The primary aim of this research is to investigate the predictors that could nurture the “pioneering minds” by exploring the innovative performance of human capital from the perspective of social embedment and pro-innovativeness organisational architecture which could subsequently lead to excellent organisational performance.     Stakeholder salience and social responsibility: Study of small businesses in Malaysia

    This study empirically examined the role of stakeholders’ influence on social responsibility practices of small businesses in Malaysia, and analysed the importance and current attention of small firms to these stakeholder groups using the Importance-Performance Matrix Analysis (IPMA). Findings of this study revealed that community’s influence and customers’ influence had significant positive impact on the social responsibility practices of small firms. Moreover, the results of IPMA for the social responsibility construct indicated that community’s influence had the highest importance for small businesses and was given the highest level of attention by the firms. In contrast, customer’s influence was given lower attention by small firms despite its high level of importance for social responsibility practices of the firm

    The development of the industrial area in Karawang precisely in Klari Anggadita village made green land very limited. In addition, the level of air pollution has also increased both from road dust, large vehicles, and factories. Limited greening areas, the Community Service Team of Mercu Buana University provides training in planting practices using Hydroponic media. Hydroponics is a farming technique without using soil media. On the other hand, hydroponics is cultivation by utilizing water without emphasizing meeting the nutritional needs of plants. Water requirements in hydroponics are less than water requirements in aquaculture with soils. Hydroponics uses water more efficiently, so it is suitable to be applied in arid regions such as Anggadita village. This training was held for one day and its growth was monitored for 2 months. During the course of time, the Community Service Team at Mercu Buana University also provided plant maintenance techniques using Hydroponic media

    The mediating effect of strategic posture on corporate governance and environmental reporting

    The aim of this study is to explain how corporate governance affects environmental reporting through the mediating effect of strategic position. The data were collected from chief executive managers and chief financial managers of 197 large companies in Malaysia. The partial least squares technique was used to test the proposed relationships. The results show that managers’ strategic posture mediates the impact of four aspects of corporate governance, namely, board size, board independency, CSR committee presence, and institutional ownership on environmental reporting. These findings extend the literature on the relationship between corporate governance and environmental reporting by providing insight into the reasons for these relationships. The results of the study will be useful for managers of companies and investors to become knowledgeable about those aspects of corporate governance which lead to higher environmental reporting. This study can also inform policy-makers about the types of firms that are less likely to disclose environmental reports and to develop effective enforcement of regulations

    A challenging business environment nowadays made small business especially SMEs think twice before planning to initiate international business. With lacking of knowledge and experience in handling international market activities, makes most SMEs faced difficulties starts from home country obstacles as well as host country. This study tends to understand the consequences of home country institutional pressure on internationalization strategy. In this research, purposive sampling was used in selecting 860 SMEs as the sample from the registered list of companies in the Federation of Manufacturing Companies (FMM) directory, which is the most comprehensive list of SMEs database. The Partial Least Square (PLS-SEM) was used as the statistical tool to measure the significance relationship between construct. The major findings were proven the significance of the relationship and confirmed the importance of understanding the home country institutional pressures and internationalization strategy choices

    Anggadita Village is one of the villages in Klari Subdistrict, Karawang Regency, West Java. The village is located in a densely industrial and residential area so it is very arid. The density of settlements around the village of Anggadita Karawang and the lack of land that can be used to plant crops is a problem of the lack of interest of residents to plant. Hydroponic cultivation is a solution to the problem of limited land for the residents of Anggadita Village, Karawang. By providing training to residents it is hoped that residents around the village of Anggadita Karawang can continue to increase the production of their hydroponic plants. The method used is training in how to plant and care for plants, including eradication of pests against these hydroponic plants so that the yield of hydroponic plants is increasing. The training was carried out by practicing how to plant hydroponics, followed by visits to the homes of residents to evaluate the growth of the plants

    Efikasi Kendiri Keusahawanan, Akhlak Keusahawanan dan Kesediaan Penerapan Elemen Keusahawanan: Perbezaan antara Guru Pelatih RBT dan Bukan RBT: Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy, Entrepreneurial Morality and Readiness to Apply Entrepreneurial Elements: Differences between RBT and Non-RBT Pre-Service Teachers

    Malay: Reka Bentuk dan Teknologi (RBT) merupakan bidang pengajian di Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG) yang mewajibkan guru pelatih mengambil kursus keusahawanan. Guru pelatih selain bidang RBT memperoleh elemen keusahawanan melalui kaedah penerapan dalam kursus-kursus lain. Kajian ini adalah untuk menilai perbezaan efikasi kendiri keusahawanan, akhlak keusahawanan, dan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan antara guru pelatih bidang RBT dan bukan bidang RBT. Reka bentuk kajian adalah tinjauan deskriptif melalui pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan instrumen soal selidik dengan skala likert 5 mata yang ditadbir kepada 176 orang guru pelatih tahun akhir dari dua buah IPG. Data yang dikumpul daripada responden telah dianalisis secara diskriptif dan inferensi menggunakan perisian SPSS Versi 26.0. Dapatan deskriptif menunjukkan efikasi kendiri keusahawanan, akhlak keusahawanan, dan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan berada pada skor min yang tinggi. Dapatan inferensi bagi perbezaan antara guru pelatih RBT dengan guru pelatih selain bidang RBT pada nilai signifikan p < 0.05 pula menunjukkan bahawa tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan bagi ketiga-tiga konstruk. Implikasi kajian ini, walaupun tahap skor min semua konstruk adalah tinggi, perlu dikenal pasti mengapakah masih wujud masalah guru yang tidak memiliki efikasi kendiri keusahawanan, akhlak keusahawanan dan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan di lapangan. Analisis dan kajian lanjutan dicadangkan untuk menilai hubungan dan pengaruh antara efikasi kendiri keusahawanan dan akhlak keusahawanan dengan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan. Selain itu faktor-faktor selain efikasi kendiri keusahawanan dan akhlak keusahawanan boleh dikenal pasti hubungannya dengan kesediaan penerapan elemen keusahawanan.   English: Design and Technology (RBT) is a Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) discipline at the Institute of Teacher Education (IPG). It requires pre-service teachers to take entrepreneurship courses. The other pre-service teachers acquire entrepreneurship elements through courses that apply entrepreneurial elements. This study aims to evaluate differences in entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial morality, and readiness to apply entrepreneurial elements between RBT and non-RBT pre-service teachers. Survey design being implemented for this study through quantitative approach using questionnaires with a 5-point likert scale. The questionnaires assigned to 176 final year trainee teachers from two IPGs. The data collected from the respondents were descriptively and inferentially analyzed using SPSS Version 26.0 software. Descriptive findings show that entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial morality, and readiness to apply entrepreneurial elements are at high mean score. The differences between RBT and non-RBT pre-service teachers at a significant value of p < 0.05 showed that there was no significant difference for three constructs. The implication of this study necessitates to further identify the actual problems of teachers’ lack of entrepreneurial self-efficacy, entrepreneurial morality, and readiness to apply entrepreneurial elements. Further studies are proposed to assess the relationship between entrepreneurial self-efficacy and entrepreneurial morality with the readiness to apply entrepreneurial elements. In addition, other factors could be further identified which correlates with the readiness to apply the entrepreneurial elements
