Ultimate boundedness of droop controlled Microgrids with secondary loops
In this paper we study theoretical properties of inverter-based microgrids
controlled via primary and secondary loops. Stability of these microgrids has
been the subject of a number of recent studies. Conventional approaches based
on standard hierarchical control rely on time-scale separation between primary
and secondary control loops to show local stability of equilibria. In this
paper we show that (i) frequency regulation can be ensured without assuming
time-scale separation and, (ii) ultimate boundedness of the trajectories
starting inside a region of the state space can be guaranteed under a condition
on the inverters power injection errors. The trajectory ultimate bound can be
computed by simple iterations of a nonlinear mapping and provides a certificate
of the overall performance of the controlled microgrid.Comment: 8 pages, 1 figur
Fault-tolerant control under controller-driven sampling using virtual actuator strategy
We present a new output feedback fault tolerant control strategy for
continuous-time linear systems. The strategy combines a digital nominal
controller under controller-driven (varying) sampling with virtual-actuator
(VA)-based controller reconfiguration to compensate for actuator faults. In the
proposed scheme, the controller controls both the plant and the sampling
period, and performs controller reconfiguration by engaging in the loop the VA
adapted to the diagnosed fault. The VA also operates under controller-driven
sampling. Two independent objectives are considered: (a) closed-loop stability
with setpoint tracking and (b) controller reconfiguration under faults. Our
main contribution is to extend an existing VA-based controller reconfiguration
strategy to systems under controller-driven sampling in such a way that if
objective (a) is possible under controller-driven sampling (without VA) and
objective (b) is possible under uniform sampling (without controller-driven
sampling), then closed-loop stability and setpoint tracking will be preserved
under both healthy and faulty operation for all possible sampling rate
evolutions that may be selected by the controller
Intentionalisme et phénoménologie de l'intentionnalité
peer reviewedThis paper presents an argument in favor of a “phenomenological” approach to intentionality. This approach, as I see it, involves the view that intentional facts are better expressed with the help of appearance words (“seems”, “appears”, “is similar to”, etc.). By contrast, what I call the “intentionalist approach” assumes that intentional facts are better expressed by intentional verbs. The argument is as follows. First, it is well-known that the use of intentional verbs to express typically intentional facts generates anomalies with respect to existential generalization, substitution of identicals, and the principle of excluded middle. Secondly, I argue that the use of appearance words does not generate the same anomalies, which suggests that appearance words are more appropriate to describe intentional facts. This, I conclude, is an argument for preferring the phenomenological to the intentionalist approach to intentionality
The aim of this essay is to identify and to analyze some key aspects of Husserl’s critique of Natorp’s psychology in the fifth Logical Investigation. After dividing Husserl’s argumentation into four main objections, we show that what is at stake in all of them is the idea of an empirical psychology in Brentano’s style. From that perspective we comment two of the most significant questions raised by the Husserl-Natorp debate : the nature of the difference between psychical and physical, the possibility of objectifying phenomenal contents. We then attempt to clarify in what sense Husserl’s and Natorp’s answers to these two questions are diametrically opposed. We conclude by some remarks on the intrinsic weaknesses of Natorp’s approach
