Modelling inflation in China – a regional perspective
We model provincial inflation in China during the reform period. In particular, we are interested in the ability of the hybrid New Keynesian Phillips Curve (NKPC) to capture the inflation process at the provincial level. The study highlights differences in inflation formation and shows that the NKPC provides a reasonable description of the inflation process only for the coastal provinces. A probit analysis suggests that the forward-looking inflation component and the output gap are important inflation drivers in provinces that have advanced most in marketisation of the economy and have most likely experienced excess demand pressures. These results have implications for the relative effectiveness of monetary policy across the Chinese provinces.China; inflation; regional; New Keynesian Philips Curve; GMM

Imports and profitability in the euro area manufacturing sector: the role of emerging market economies
The paper analyses the impact of import penetration on firms’ profitability in 15 manufacturing industries in 10 euro area countries during 1995-2004, focusing on the role of emerging market economies. Our results indicate that import competition from emerging market economies has had an overall negative impact on companies’ profitability in the euro area manufacturing sector, especially for imports coming from China and Russia. However, similar negative effects are also estimated for imports from the United States. In contrast, imports from Latin America are estimated to be positively correlated with profitability. Finally, we find asymmetric effects on profitability across euro area countries and sectors.
The accessibility of justice-related concepts can validate intentions to punish
This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by Taylor & Francis Group in Social Influence on 2015, available online at:http://www.tandfonline.com/10.1080/15534510.2015.1031170The present study examined the impact of the accessibility of justice-related concepts when assigning punishment. Across two experiments, participants first were paired with either a pro-social or anti-social target. Next, participants received either an ethics prime (Experiments 1 and 2) or a legality prime (Experiment 2) compared with a control prime (Experiments 1 and 2). Finally, participants reported their intentions to punish the target by taking money from him in an economic game (Experiment 1) or their behavioral intentions to punish the target (Experiment 2). We predicted and found that punishment assignment was greater for those participants who were paired with the anti-social target and activated the idea of justice-related concepts than for those who did not activate i
Children’s participation and civic education: guidelines for the development of an inclusion social model
as an instrument to tackle social exclusion is made. In order to do so,the antecedents
and factors that could boost that participationare considered as long as the impact
that children’s participation in decision-making processes has on their health and
growth. Moreover, the role of participation in specific settings (p.ej., volunteering, SNS
usage, Internet, etc.) both for children’s well-being and for breaking the cycle of poverty
and social exclusion is also taken into account. Then a review of the literature on the
antecedents and factors related to participation is presented. Finally, the situation of
European countries is analyzed as a basis for making proposals applicable to the case

Civic and political participation of children and adolescents: a lifestyle analysis for positive youth developmental programs
This is the peer reviewed version of the following article: Rivera, Reyinaldo, Santos, David. Civic and Political Participation of Children and Adolescents: A Lifestyle Analysis for Positive Youth Developmental Programs. Children & Society 30.1 (2016): 59–70, which has been published in final form at https://www.doi.org/10.1111/chso.12118. This article may be used for non-commercial purposes in accordance with Wiley Terms and Conditions for Self-ArchivingSocial participation plays a key role in predicting positive youth development (PYD). As a previous step of this link, this research examined how children and adolescents’ relational lifestyles influenced their participation in political and civic activities. This research provides a multi-dimensional approach to the study of children’s social participation, based on six children’s lifestyles factors (i.e. family dialogue, risky behaviours, cultural activities, civic values, family supervision and peer group relationships). Using data from an international survey that included 6130 participants (2198 Spanish, 3932 Italian, Mage = 13.8), this study’s results show that relational lifestyles (especially family dialogue and out-of-school cultural activities) are positively related to political and civic participation among children and adolescents. On the contrary, some peer group relationships decreased their social participation in those key dimensions for PYD. Limitations of the current study, implications for future policy decisions and applications to children social programs are discussed. This work was supported by the European Union (grant no. Direct and indirect influences of objective socioeconomic position on adolescent health: the mediating roles of subjective socioeconomic status and lifestyles
The use of composite indices and subjective measures to evaluate socioeconomic position, taking into account the effect of inequalities on adolescent health-related behaviors, can contribute to understanding the effect of inequalities on health during adolescence. The aim of this study was to examine the direct and indirect contribution of objective and subjective socioeconomic factors in a broad range of health and lifestyles outcomes. The data come from a representative sample of adolescents (N = 15,340; M age = 13.69) of the Health Behavior in School-aged Children study in Spain. Structural equation modeling was used for data analysis. A global index for evaluating objective socioeconomic position predicted both health and healthy lifestyles. Subjective socioeconomic status mediated the relationship between objective socioeconomic position and health but did not have a significant effect on healthy lifestyles when objective indicators were considered. Lastly, fit indices of the multiple-mediator model—including the direct effect of objective socioeconomic position on health and its indirect effects through the subjective perception of wealth and lifestyles—explained 28.7% of global health variance. Interventions aimed at reducing the impact of health inequalities should address, in addition to material deprivation, the psychological and behavioral consequences of feeling poor.ConsejerĂa de EconomĂa, InnovaciĂłn y Ciencia de la Junta de AndalucĂa P11—SEJ—800
