    A note on absolute summability factors

    In this paper, by using an almost increasing and δ\delta-quasi-monotone sequence, a general theorem on ϕ−∣C,α∣k\phi-{\mid{C},\alpha\mid}_k summability factors, which generalizes a result of Bor \cite{3} on ϕ−∣C,1∣k{\phi-\mid{C},1\mid}_k summability factors, has been proved under weaker and more general conditions.Comment: 4 page

    Cutaneous findings in neurofibromatosis type 1

    Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is characterized by major and minor cutaneous findings, whose recognition plays a key role in the early diagnosis of the disease. The disease affects multiple systems and clinical manifestation has a wide range of variability. Symptoms and clinical signs may occur over the lifetime, and the complications are very diverse. Although significant progress has been made in understanding the pathophysiology of the disease, no specific treatment has been defined. Multidisciplinary approach is required to provide optimum care for the patients. The aim of this paper is to provide the clinician with a complete guide of skin findings of NF1. Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is a complex autosomal dominant disorder associated with germline mutations in the NF1 tumor suppressor gene. NF1 belongs to a class of congenital anomaly syndromes called RASopathies, a group of rare genetic conditions caused by mutations in the Ras/mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway. Generally, NF1 patients present with dermatologic manifestations. In this review the main features of café-au-lait macules, freckling, neurofibromas, juvenile xanthogranuloma, nevus anemicus and other cutaneous findings will be discussed

    Investigation of a healthcare-associated candida infections in a Turkish intensive care unit: risk factors, therapy and clinical outcome

    Aim: Candida infections develop especially in intensive care unit (ICU) patients and increase the mortality rates. So, early and accurate diagnosis of Candida infections and determination of risk factors are very important. We aimed to retrospectively investigate Candida infections in terms of species and risk factors for candidemia caused by fungi. Methods: Candida infections in critically ill patients hospitalized in the ICU between January 2014 and December 2018 at Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Training and Research Hospital were retrospectively analyzed. The isolated Candida species were evaluated according to the sample types. The cases were investigated in terms of mortality due to candidiasis, previously used antibiotics and isolated Candida species. Results: 34 Candida species isolated from fungal cultures in ICUs were included in the study. Candida albicans (73.5%) was the most prevalent species isolated (NAC 26.5%). Patients with Candida isolated in their urine samples (76%) had a higher mortality rate than patients with Candida from other regions. Conclusion: The results of our study suggest that the highest rate of candidiasis (88%) is in patients who received beta-lactam antibiotic treatment. In addition, we think that when Candida species are detected in the urine samples of critically ill patients in the ICU, care should be taken in terms of candidiasis
