Numerical Solution of Stochastic Partial Differential Equations with Correlated Noise

In this paper we investigate the numerical solution of stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) for a wider class of stochastic equations. We focus on non-diagonal colored noise instead of the usual space-time white noise. By applying a spectral Galerkin method for spatial discretization and a numerical scheme in time introduced by Jentzen $\&$ Kloeden, we obtain the rate of path-wise convergence in the uniform topology. The main assumptions are either uniform bounds on the spectral Galerkin approximation or uniform bounds on the numerical data. Meta-analysis of School Climate and Well-Being of LGBTQ Youth: A Case Study of Alabama’s Public School Climate Toward Sexual Minority Students

Decades of research demonstrates that adolescents who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ), are at higher risk of peer victimization, harassment, and bullying compared to heterosexual youth. It is reported that 3 out of every 4 LGBTQ students are verbally harassed and 1 out of every 3 is physically bullied (Kosciw et al., 2014). Exposure to constant victimization, harassment, and bullying can subsequently pave the way to a host of negative psychological and educational outcomes. The current research is a systematic review and a meta-analysis of school climate and its impact on the LGBTQ students. This research investigates whether the disparity in rates of victimization, harassment, and bullying in school can explain adverse psychological and educational outcomes experienced by sexual minority youth. The study also demonstrates the buffering influence of a positive and supportive school climate. In addition, a case study of the policies and practices of Alabama public schools is conducted to evaluate the state’s responsiveness towards the needs of the LGBTQ students. Results suggest that sexual minority youth are at an increased risk of victimization, harassment, and bullying. Further, these experiences contribute to a host of adverse psychological and educational outcomes. Moreover, the present study demonstrates that positive and supportive school climate plays a protective role in buffering the negative outcomes experienced by the sexual minority student

Gender Disparity in Death Rumination and Defence Styles: Sample Study Hospitalized Cancer Patients

Introduction: Cancer and the stress associated with it have a significant impact on not only publichealth, but also on individuals suffering from cancer can make stressful and pressure conditions forpatients. The aim of this study was to examine the role of gender and death rumination amongpatients with cancer.Methods: The study was done using death rumination questionnaire and defence stylesquestionnaire-60 (DSQ-60). The study was conducted on 200 hospitalized cancer patients.MANOVA test using SPSS was utilized for data analysis. .Results: According to gender disparity, patients suffering from cancer had high scores in deathexhaust as death rumination. Statistically significant results emerged also on projection (p< 0.05),projective identification (p< 0.01), and withdrawal (p< 0.05) from defence mechanisms. Inparticular, it was found that female cancer patients were more likely to engage in death-exhaust,projection, projective identification, and withdrawal styles.Conclusion: Overall, this report codifies the gender disparity in death rumination and defencestyles in hospitalized cancer patients with psychological adjustment in women with cancer,suggesting that these might be potential targets of psychological intervention for this population

Sayyed Ahmad Kasravi historian, language reformer and thinker

Sayyed Ahmad Kasravi was one of the greatest scholars and thinkers of 20th-century Iran. He had already won an international reputation as a historian and as a linguist before he was murdered by a religious fanatic in 1945. His ideas about language reform, literature, religion and politics challenged traditional Iranian ways of thinking. The purpose of this thesis is to outline the contents of Kasravi’s writings, to quote comments by his admirers and critics, and to express our own views when possible. In chapter I, Kasravi’s background, education and career are outlined, and influences which helped to shape his thought are indicated. Chapter II contains summaries of the contents of Kasravi’s historical works, and quotes Iranian and foreign appraisals of his achievements as a historian. Chapter III contains summaries of Kasravi’s principal writings in the field of linguistics and language reform, together with assessments of his work. Chapter IV contains summaries of Kasravi’s writings as a literary theorist, and discusses his hostility to mystic and panegyric poetry. Chapter V contains summaries of Kasravi's views on existing religions and of his own religious beliefs. Comments by his critics and some comments of our own are appended. Chapter VI contains summaries of Kasravi's views on mysticism, materialism and other ideological matters. Chapter VII contains summaries of Kasravi’s views on political, economic and social problems, with comments. In the Conclusion an attempt is made to assess the importance and influence of Kasravi’s life and work as a whole. Various Iranian and foreign views of Kasravi’s achievements are also quoted. In the three Appendices, further information is given on Kasravi’s life and personality and the sources of his ideas; and some comparisons are made between Kasravi’s ideas on religion, politics, and language, and other contemporary ideas

Restoration of Morphine-Induced Amnesia by Pediococcus acidilactici, an Indigenous Probiotics of Iran, in Male Wistar Rats

Background: Probiotics are living microorganisms that have beneficial effects on the microbial balance of the host intestine (human and animal). Studies demonstrated that intestinal microbiota maybe affect the hormones of brain and nervous through the vagus nerve. The goal of this study was to investigate the impact of Lactobacillus Pediococcus acidilactici, indigenous probiotics of Iran isolated from traditional dairy products, on passive avoidance learning of male Wistar rats.Material and Methods: In this research, 80 male Wistar rats weighing from 80 to 100 grams were used. For induction of amnesia, morphine was used as an intraperitoneal injection. Afterward, the mice were with 0.1 ml of milk alone or containing 109 CFU/ml of. Pediococcus acidilactici for 8 months. In this study, a non-active avoidance learning behavioral test was used to test long-term memory in Wistar rats.Results: Results displayed that in the control group, morphine (1 mg/rat) significantly decreased learning. In the groups receiving probiotic and probiotic extract plus morphine, there was a significant difference in learning circumstances with the control group.Conclusions: The results of this study depict the beneficial effect of Pediococcus acidilactici, a native Iranian probiotic isolated from dairy products, in the learning quality of non-active conditional avoidance in rats induced by morphine. This indicates the effect of oral probiotics on improving memory and learning

European Union and the US trade disputes: The role of the WTO

The study discusses the role of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in dispute resolution and examines issues influencing its effectiveness. This paper investigates the trade disputes between the US and the European Union, focusing on the agricultural sector controversies over crops, beef, and bananas in addition to the conflict over the US government decision to impose tariffs on imported low-cost steel. The final sections of the paper highlight some of the structural factors that create limitation in the role of the WTO in resolution of disputes and provide analyses with the potential of enhancing the capabilities of the WTO in resolving trade disputes
