On Assemblage and Erasure
Through textual and visual research, I assert that the root cause of the injustice that drives my work and the work of the artists within my thesis paper is erasure. I attribute this erasure in large part to the role of neoliberalism upon the world stage, and it’s pervasive global influence. While neoliberalism did not create inequality, it has codified it and through its relentless push for “progress” it has propped up a dynamic of oppressor and oppressed. This in turn leads to simple categorization and ultimately erasure. I posit that my work not only makes this erasure visible, but also combats that erasure through adherence to a social theory of assemblage, introduced by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari. By positioning my work in the context of a series of other artists and philosophers, I transform the oft referenced self-portrait from simple representation into a statement of purpose and a means of undermining a system of oppression
Christof Migone : trou
"The first monograph published on this artist, Christof Migone. Trou examines one of the most exciting bodies of work in Quebec art in recent years. As a way of demonstrating the uniqueness of a multidisciplinary practice that began in the mid-1980s, the Galerie proposes this generously illustrated publication, which includes an essay by Nicole Gingras as well as short texts by the artist, rich, complex, dense, with multiple levels and meanings. Here, one can discover several new works illuminated from a retrospective point of view. The book was published to coincide with an important solo exhibition by Christof Migone, presented at the Galerie de l’UQAM from October 20 to November 25, 2006." -- Publisher's website
Policy shops, hired guns, and gatekeepers: The organization and distribution of policy analysts in Ontario
Policy professionals play an important role in political and administrative systems. However, the exact configuration and distribution of such personnel within agencies remains largely unknown. Early works noted the creation of small dedicated “policy shops” in many governments after 1960 where many policy professionals were located. Studies in Canada and elsewhere subsequently confirmed this organizational form but questions such as how many professionals are employed and where these units are located within existing departmental structures remain opaque. In this article, we provide an organizational mapping of professional policy personnel in the Ontario Public Service (OPS). We find that four major personnel distribution patterns exist within the OPS with only some analysts and professionals working in “classical” policy shops. These findings underscore the need to re‐evaluate the organization and staffing of professional policy analysts in government in order to better account for the kinds of work policy professionals do in modern administrations

Three-dimensional polymeric systems for cancer cells studies
The present research activity is aimed at the development of 3D culture of pancreatic
cancer cells in microstructured polymer matrices in order to gain insights in the
regulation of pancreatic cancer cell proliferation as well as in the view of developing an
in vitro model for the evaluation of novel anticancer drugs.
The research activity will be performed under a multidisciplinary approach and all the
described objectives will be part of three chapters that constitute the body of this work:
1) Three-dimensional polyelectrolyte complexes hydrogels based on chitosan and
poly(γ-glutamic acid): preparation and physical-chemical characterization
2) Biocompatibility assessment of polyelectrolyte complexes hydrogels
3)Modeling of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in vitro with three-dimensional
microstructured polyelectrolyte complexes hydrogel
