Semantic analysis of Ethnopoetics of Pangunraun in mariage negotiations of Maanyan Dayak of Central Kalimantan

This paper is intended to describe what is the content of ethnopetic of Pangunraunas they are practised in negotiating marriage proposals of Maanyan Dayak of Central Kalimantan. Semantic analysis was adopted to unfold layers of meaning with observation, interview, and FGD as main data collection techniques. As most couplets have lost the context, word to word translation is extremely difficult to perceive. The study revealed that the negotiation is more than ordinary marriage negotiation, but there are rigid agenda, as appeal to tradition. They include: rice-wine party, negotiating the speakers, reasons for visit, marriage proposal, negotiating the seriousness, negotiating the bridal gift, agreement, and the last asking for blessing from the adat elders

 The fading of the Student Movement after the 2014 Presidential Election. This writing uses a library research method. The problems in this paper are divided into three parts. First, why does the student movement tend to weaken (dim) in the face of Joko Widodo's regime? Second, what is the cause of the dimness of the student movement? Third, how to revive the enthusiasm of students as agents of change in this country? The finding was that the student movement showed unhealthy signs by losing their enthusiasm. The climax was after the 2014 presidential election, which put Joko Widodo as the people's choice of president, it was felt that the student movement from day to day was getting fainter and lost the spirit of their struggle. Even if there is student action it is already polarized, so the echo is very weak

The Nagi Forest density and need for protection

This study analysed the types of forest, the area coverage of the forest types, tree species composition and density of the forest types in Nagi district. The study was carried out through field measurement and observation. Other forms of data are derived from documented information from the Benue State ministry of animal and forestry, topographic map of Gwer- West local government area and Rabelat Nigeria limited company. Data on the existing types of forest in Nagi district are collected into classes or categories of wild forest, reserved forest and gallery forest. Their measured spatial area is coded in tables. The observed and counted number of tree stands in the quadrant was analyzed using the poison probability distribution and quadrant analysis. The result showed that the reserved type of  forest because of its protection has the highest species diversity and density, followed by the gallery and the wild forest types. Some activities such as  farming,  lumbering and bush burning are depleting the Nagi forest density and militating against its sustainability. Recommendations are made that will mitigate the impact of forest depleting activities in the Nagi district and ensure sustainable exploitation of the forest resources
