This paper revel a realization of a superior circuit design of 1 bit full adder. The circuit is planned and implemented by using planar DG –MOSFETs at 45 nm technology. In CPU, arithmetic logic unit (ALU) is the core heart.   The adder cell is the important and necessary unit of an ALU. In the present paper, an improved 1-bit full adder circuit is proposed that consumes lower power and reduced number of transistors. The proposed adder circuit consists of 9 transistors and called as 9-T adder cell.  The planar DG-MOSFETs are new emerging transistors which can work n nanometer range and overcome the short channel effects. The simulation of proposed circuit is done in tanner tool version 13.0 using level 54 model files. The simulation is done to compare power, power delay product with supply voltage. The result is also checked at room temperature. This circuit performance of the proposed circuits compared with other reported circuits in literatures and it is seen approximately more than 99.9% reduction in power consumption. ABSTRACTObjective: There are limited therapies available for prevention and treatment of hepatitis following antitubercular therapy. Very few reports areavailable regarding the hepatoprotective activity of Tridax procumbens (Tridax daisy) and Ficus religiosa (Aswatha) against the hepatitis induced byantitubercular drugs. Hence, we studied the hepatoprotective activity of Tridax and Ficus in isoniazid- and rifampicin-induced hepatitis in rats. Methods: The rats were divided into five groups. Group 1 - Control, Group 2 - Toxic control received isoniazid + rifampicin (100 mg/kg intraperitonealeach), Group 3 - Received Tridax extract (200 mg/kg p.o.) along with isoniazid and rifampicin, Group 4 - Received Ficus extract (200 mg/kg p.o.)with isoniazid and rifampicin, Group 5 - Standard group receiving Liv-52 (10 mg/kg p.o.) along with isoniazid and rifampicin. After 21 days, alkalinephosphatase (ALP), alanine transaminase, aspartate transaminase, and bilirubin levels were estimated from the serum. One-way ANOVA was appliedto test for significance of biochemical data of the different groups. The significance is set at pù‰€0.05. As evident from our study, rats receiving Tridaxshows significant improvement in all liver function test (LFT) parameters. Results: There is a significant difference in all the LFT parameters between Tridax group and Liv-52 group (p=0.004 for total bilirubin, 0.001 for ALP).Between Liv-52 group and Ficus group only significant in total bilirubin (p=0.04).Conclusion: From this study, it can be concluded that methanolic extract of both Tridax and Ficus has got significant hepatoprotective effect. Keywords: Isoniazid, Rifampicin, Liver function tests, Hepatoprotective

Rates of Chemical Reactions Embedded in a Metabolic Network by Dissolution Dynamic Nuclear Polarisation NMR

    Get PDF
International audienceThe isomerisation of 6-phosphogluconolactones and their hydrolyses into 6-phosphogluconic acid form a non enzymatic side cycle of the pentose-phosphate pathway (PPP) in cells. We show that dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization can be used for determining the kinetic rates of the involved transformations in real time. It is found that the hydrolysis of both lactones is significantly slower than the isomeration process, thereby shedding new light onto this subtle chemical process

Introduction: Flipped classroom is a new pedagogical model in which students are provided with study resource material to develop a basic understanding of the topic before class, and in-class precious time is used for learner-centric activities. Accordingly the study objectives were to compare the effect of flipped and traditional classroom teaching method and to determine the student’s perception of flipped and traditional teaching method.Method: This was a non-randomized experimental study. A detailed multiple choice question based test was used to assess the knowledge gain. Another structured questionnaire on students’ perception on flipped classroom teaching and traditional teaching technique was used for both the groups. Results: A total of 112 students participated in this study. The mean assessment scores in the flipped and traditional classroom were not statistically significant. We observed in the current study that the qualitative response was better as compared to quantitative response. Conclusion: As per our qualitative observation, a hybrid of both traditional and flipped classroom teaching method can be used in the transition period until the acceptance for new innovative methods increase. Long term learning gain may be attained by improving motivation and engagement of students in learning process

Aims and Objectives: To compare the effect for fracture resistance of different coronally extended post length with two different post materials. Materials and Methods: One hundred and sixty endodontically treated maxillary central incisors embedded in acrylic resin with decoronated root portion were taken for the study. The postspaces were prepared according to standard protocol. The samples were divided into two groups according to the post material: glass-fiber post and Quartz fiber post. These groups were further subdivided on the basis of coronal extension of 4 and 6 mm for glass fiber and Quartz fiber posts, respectively. The posts were then luted with dual-polymerizing resin cement followed by core buildup. Samples were subjected to increasing compressive oblique load until fracture occurred in a universal testing machine. Data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and independent Student's t-test. Analysis was done using SPSS version 15 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA) Windows software program. Results: Glass fiber post with coronal extension of 4 mm (182.8 N) showed better results than with 6-mm length (124.1 N). Similarly, in quartz fiber posts group, 4-mm postlength (314 N) was better when compared with 6 mm (160 N). The 4-mm coronal extension of quartz fiber post displayed superior fracture resistance. Conclusions: Glass fiber posts showed better fracture resistance than Quartz fiber posts. 4-mm coronal length showed more fracture resistance than 6 mm

    Satellite-based sunshine duration for Europe

    Get PDF
In this study, two different methods were applied to derive daily and monthly sunshine duration based on high-resolution satellite products provided by the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) Satellite Application Facility on Climate Monitoring using data from Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) SEVIRI (Spinning Enhanced Visible and Infrared Imager). The satellite products were either hourly cloud type or hourly surface incoming direct radiation. The satellite sunshine duration estimates were not found to be significantly different using the native 15-minute temporal resolution of SEVIRI. The satellite-based sunshine duration products give additional spatial information over the European continent compared with equivalent in situ-based products. An evaluation of the satellite sunshine duration by product intercomparison and against station measurements was carried out to determine their accuracy. The satellite data were found to be within ±1 h/day compared to high-quality Baseline Surface Radiation Network or surface synoptic observations (SYNOP) station measurements. The satellite-based products differ more over the oceans than over land, mainly because of the treatment of fractional clouds in the cloud type-based sunshine duration product. This paper presents the methods used to derive the satellite sunshine duration products and the performance of the different retrievals. The main benefits and disadvantages compared to station-based products are also discussed

    Microwave-gated dynamic nuclear polarization

    Get PDF
Dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization (D-DNP) has become a method of choice to enhance signals in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). Recently, we have proposed to combine cross-polarization (CP) with D-DNP to provide high polarization P(C-13) in short build-up times. In this paper, we show that switching microwave irradiation off for a few hundreds of milliseconds prior to CP can significantly boost the efficiency. By implementing microwave gating, C-13 polarizations on sodium [1-C-13]acetate as high as 64% could be achieved with a polarization build-up time constant as short as 160 s. A polarization of P(C-13) = 78% could even be reached for [C-13]urea
