    Sustainable supply chains

Globalisation places demands on supply chain management to go beyond purely economic issues and to consider, for example, fair working conditions and environmentally friendly production. Managing supply chains in a sustainable manner is becoming a growing problem for companies of all sizes and operating in many industries. Meeting environmental and social standards at all stages of the supply chain ensures that (at least) a minimum level of sustainability is achieved. Unlike the traditional supply chain, which usually focuses on economic and financial business performance, a sustainable supply chain is characterised by a clear integration of environmental or social goals that extend the economic dimension to the triple bottom line. The implementation of the principles of sustainable development in the field of supply chain management focuses on closely related areas, such as sustainable, responsible, green, closed, or ethical chains, and the terms themselves are often used interchangeably. The purpose of the chapter is to review the different types of supply chains that respect the principles of sustainable development

Currently, social media are increasingly used by enterprises to achieve various goals, including those related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The article analyzes the occurrence of social media and CSR issues in peer-reviewed scientific publications. The following research questions were formulated: 1) Is there a research gap in the thematic area? 2) Is there a trend when it comes to publication time on a given topic? 3) Which scientific journals publish articles on social media and CSR? 4), Which countries do authors undertaking social media and CSR issues mostly come from? 5) What research interests are pursued by authors of articles related to social media and CSR issues? The basic research method was a systematic review of literature. The selection of the analyzed texts was based on EBSCO, ProQuest, JSTOR and Google Scholar databases. Bibliometric and contextual analysis have enabled the following conclusions to be drawn: 1) the issues of social media and CSR are present in peer-reviewed scientific publications, 2) a small number of publications is associated with a relatively short period of time in which publications appeared, but an upward trend can be observed, 3) the authors who undertake the analyzed issues come from various countries, mostly from the USA 5) Social media and CSR are the subject of research in numerous research areas. Following a systematic literature review, proposals for future research directions were also formulated

The aim of the article is to determine what needs and expectations of stakeholders are indicated by socially responsible enterprises listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange with the RESPECT Index (XII edition). The RESPECT Index is an income index addressing companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (hereinafter GPW), excluding the NewConnect market, foreign and dual-listed companies. The study population included 31 listed companies representing various sectors. Computer software, supporting the NVivo quality data analysis (version 12), was used to analyze documents as well as the content of reports and statements of the companies studied. The research conducted yielded results in the form of answers to the following questions that were posed: 1) Expectations of which stakeholders are identified in the enterprises surveyed? 2) What dimensions of CSR do the enterprises surveyed identify the expectations of stakeholders? 3) What tools were used to meet the expectations of stakeholders in the enterprises surveyed

T艂o bada艅. Jednym z kluczowych czynnik贸w sukcesu w dzia艂alno艣ci wsp贸艂czesnych organizacji jest wsp贸艂praca z dostawcami. W artykule podejmuje si臋 pr贸b臋 ilustracji mo偶liwo艣ci wykorzystania action research jako podej艣cia predysponowanego do z jednej strony naukowego, a z drugiej - praktycznego rozwi膮zania problem贸w zarz膮dzania relacjami z dostawcami. Cel bada艅. Celem artyku艂u jest ukazanie mo偶liwo艣ci wykorzystania action re卢search jako podej艣cia badawczego, przydatnego w diagnozie i projektowaniu 艣cie偶ki doskonalenia wsp贸艂pracy przedsi臋biorstwa z dostawcami. Metodologia. W artykule wykorzystano przegl膮d selektywnie dobranej literatury dotycz膮cej genezy, istoty oraz cech wyr贸偶niaj膮cych action research. Ponadto uwzgl臋dniono egzemplifikacj臋 zastosowania procesu i technik action research do specyficznego zastosowania, jakim jest przeprowadzenie diagnozy i sformu艂owanie propozycji procedury doskonalenia wsp贸艂pracy z dostawcami w przedsi臋biorstwie reprezentuj膮cych sektor ciep艂owniczy. Kluczowe wnioski. Background. One of the key success factors in the activities of the modern organization is working with suppliers. In some cases, the content of this cooperation is codified in the form of formalized procedures. This is when the organization introduces a standardised quality management system in compliance with ISO 9001. Additionally, it includes an exemplification of the specific use of the action research process and techniques in diagnosing as well as a proposed procedure for improving cooperation with suppliers in a business enterprise representing the heat generation sector. Key findings. The research results include the following: presenting the genesis of action research, identifying the ways of defining action research, mapping the most important features of this approach, as well as showing its usefulness in solving a particular business management problem arising out of cooperation with suppliers within the context of the binding requirements specified in the standard ISO 9001:2015. The results of the literature research are of a universal character. Because the empirical research was conducted in just one enterprise representing a specific industry sector, its results cannot be generalized uncritically. Simultaneously, it should be noted that the methodological approach used in the research as well as the organizational and technical tools can be a source of inspiration for research concerning other problems and organizations

The purpose of the article was to conduct a systematic analysis of reviewed scientific publications covering the subject of sustainable development of suppliers. Bibliometric and contextual analysis allowed the formulation of the following conclusions: 1) the issue of sustainable development of suppliers is present in peer-reviewed scientific publications to a very moderate level, 2) the small number of publications does not make it possible to determine whether there is a trend in terms of publication time, 3) scientific journals in which articles on sustainable development of suppliers were published have a different profile, 4) authors who undertake the issues analyzed come from different countries, 5) sustainable development of suppliers is the subject of research in a range of research areas. Following a systematic review of the literature, proposals for future research directions were also formulated
