Delayed Coherent Quantum Feedback from a Scattering Theory and a Matrix Product State Perspective
We study the scattering of photons propagating in a semi-infinite waveguide
terminated by a mirror and interacting with a quantum emitter. This paradigm
constitutes an example of coherent quantum feedback, where light emitted
towards the mirror gets redirected back to the emitter. We derive an analytical
solution for the scattering of two-photon states, which is based on an exact
resummation of the perturbative expansion of the scattering matrix, in a regime
where the time delay of the coherent feedback is comparable to the timescale of
the quantum emitter's dynamics. We compare the results with numerical
simulations based on matrix product state techniques simulating the full
dynamics of the system, and extend the study to the scattering of coherent
states beyond the low-power limit.Comment: 28 pages, 6 figure

The growth of Internet and information technologies allows the emergence of new contractual relations. The constant evolution of these new technologies has put new lights on the legal theories of trust. It is necessary to understand the importance of trust in order to fully comprehend the issues relating to new technologies. Trust is closely linked to economic growth, and influences online trade and legal theory

Rabi oscillation in a quantum cavity: Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics
We investigate the Rabi oscillation of an atom placed inside a quantum cavity
where each mirror is formed by a chain of atoms trapped near a one-dimensional
waveguide. This proposal was studied previously with the use of Markov
approximation, where the delay due to the finite travel time of light between
the two cavity mirrors is neglected. We show that Rabi oscillation analogous to
that obtained with high-finesse classical cavities is achieved only when this
travel time is much larger than the time scale that characterizes the
collective response of the atomic chain. Therefore, the delay must be taken
into account and the dynamics of the problem is inherently non-Markovian.
Parameters of interest such as the Rabi frequency and the cavity loss rate due
to photon leakage through the mirrors are obtained.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figure

‘Intercultural bridges across the Romaine River flowing through the Nitassinan and Minganie (North Shore, Québec)’
Since 2009, a major hydroelectric project on the Romaine River, located in the heart of the Nitassinan, Innus’ ancestral territory, and the regional county municipality (RCM) of Minganie on Québec’s North Shore region, has reshaped the relationships between the Innu and non-Innu and their territory. Given the magnitude of the project, a broader analysis of its economic and environmental impacts has been conducted mainly by Hydro-Québec and other government bodies. However, the intercultural incidences of such project were not anticipated nor included in the project planning phase, which has impeded its maximization of the regional economic spinoffs
