Forecasting the state of health of electric vehicle batteries to evaluate the viability of car sharing practices

    Get PDF
Car sharing practices are introducing electric vehicles into their fleet. However, literature suggests that at this point shared electric vehicle systems are failing to reach satisfactory commercial viability. Potential reason for this is the effect of higher vehicle usage which is characteristic for car sharing, and the implication on the battery state of health. In this paper, we forecast state of health for two identical electric vehicles shared by two different car sharing practices. For this purpose, we use real life transaction data from charging stations and different electric vehicles’ sensors. The results indicate that insight into users’ driving and charging behaviour can provide valuable point of reference for car sharing system designers. In particular, the forecasting results show that the moment when electric vehicle battery reaches its theoretical end of life can differ in as much as ÂŒ of time when vehicles are shared under different conditions

Forecasting transport mode use with support vector machines based approach

    Get PDF
The paper explores potential to forecast what transport mode one will use for his/her next trip. The support vector machines based approach learns from individual's behavior (validated GPS tracks) to support smart city transport planning services. The overall success rate, in forecasting the transport mode, is 82 %, with lower confusion for private car, bike and walking

The moving crowd: collecting and processing of crowd behaviour data

    Get PDF
The MOVE project focuses on the collection and analyses of crowd behavior data. The two main goals of the project are first, the collection of data through mobile phones. The second goal is to develop new technologies to process and mine the collected data for crowd behaviour analysis. The technology will allow to make advanced interpretations of historic and dynamic mobile crowd data coming from GSM/GPS and from different classes of users (vehicle, pedestrian, indoor/outdoor). Fusion will be made between data coming from different sources (smartphone, navigation device) and external map data. The interpretation will allow the mining of advanced features/geometry from the crowd data as well as interprete the dynamic behaviour of the population

Integrating big data into a sustainable mobility policy 2.0 planning support system

It is estimated that each of us, on a daily basis, produces a bit more than 1 GB of digital content through our mobile phone and social networks activities, bank card payments, location-based positioning information, online activities, etc. However, the implementation of these large data amounts in city assets planning systems still remains a rather abstract idea for several reasons, including the fact that practical examples are still very strongly services-oriented, and are a largely unexplored and interdisciplinary field; hence, missing the cross-cutting dimension. In this paper, we describe the Policy 2.0 concept and integrate user generated content into Policy 2.0 platform for sustainable mobility planning. By means of a real-life example, we demonstrate the applicability of such a big data integration approach to smart cities planning process. Observed benefits range from improved timeliness of the data and reduced duration of the planning cycle to more informed and agile decision making, on both the citizens and the city planners end. The integration of big data into the planning process, at this stage, does not have uniform impact across all levels of decision making and planning process, therefore it should be performed gradually and with full awareness of existing limitations

---------- This study is research report about the implementation curriculum 2013 of civics learning to train the civics disposition in SMKN 1 Sumedang and involves teacher, vice principal the field of the curriculum, partial students class X and head of section curriculum and student the education authorities of Sumedang district. This reseacrh is based on five formulation of the problem among others, first, how does the civics teacher perception about the implementation of a character education in civics subject of the curriculum 2013. Second, how does the civics learning of planning curriculum 2013 in SMKN 1 Sumedang. Third, how does the implementation of civics learning curriculum 2013 in SMKN 1 Sumedang. Fourth, how does the approach of learning and assesment in civics subject of the curriculum 2013 in SMKN 1 Sumedang. Fifth, how does the role of Sumedang education stakeholders in realizing the implementation of civics learning curriculum 2013 to train the character of citizenship. Data collection techniques conducted through interviews, observation, the study of documentation, and literature. Data were analyzed by using the theory of Miles and Huberman (2007, page. 20) is data reduction, data display and conclution drawing verification. Based on the result of this study, first, Teachers perceive character education is the emphasis on education and a noble mind the attitude of students the curriculum 2013 so that participants very helpful in shaping attitudes once a noble mind and learners. Second, civics learning plan of curriculum 2013 has been made by civics teachers SMKN 1 Sumedang already referred to the syllabus made by the government. Third, civics lesson of curriculum 2013 in SMKN 1 Sumedang very centered with the students. Fourth, civics lesson of curriculum 2013 in SMKN 1 Sumedang use the scientific approach and a assessment in subject civics curriculum 2013 in SMKN 1 Sumedang use the assessment process and the assessment of learning outcomes with reference to the attitude, knowledge, and the skills of students. Fifth, the role of Sumedang education stakeholders in realizing the implementation of the curriculum 2013 is pretty good
