Privacy Expectations and Protections for Teachers in the Internet Age
Public school teachers have little opportunity for redress if they are dismissed for their activities on social networking websites. With the exception of inappropriate communication with students, a school district should not be able to consider a public educator’s use of a social networking website for disciplinary or employment decisions. Insisting that the law conform to twenty-first century social norms, this iBrief argues that the law should protect teachers’ speech on popular social networking websites like Facebook and MySpace
Against the new Cartesian Circle
In two recent papers, Michael Della Rocca accuses Descartes of reasoning circularly in the Fourth Meditation. This alleged new circle is distinct from, and more vicious than, the traditional Cartesian Circle arising in the Third Meditation. We explain Della Rocca’s reasons for this accusation, showing that his argument is invalid

Fishes of Crowley\u27s Ridge in Arkansas
Crowley\u27s Ridge is one of the six natural geographic divisions of Arkansas which rises out of the Mississippi embayment as a relatively steep, uncultivated loessial mass. The ridge is drained by a network of headwater streams which are relatively clear with alkaline pH values and uniformly low alkalinity values. Carbon dioxide values were moderate and oxygen values were adequate. The fish species collected were basically headwater in composition. Isolated groups of characteristically upland species indicate that environmental quality of adjacent deltaic streams was better at one time
Geological Bodies
‘Geological Bodies’ is a series of character designs that were developed to personify the traits of nine different rocks. The artwork is accompanied with written documentation of the research and execution
Counseling and Artificial Intelligence: Forging a Path Forward (Commentary)
The thesis of this editorial is twofold. First, counselors should work with Artificial Intelligence (AI), and AI should work with counseling. Second, counselors should increase their involvement with, essentially, all things AI. Counseling should forge a path forward with artificial intelligence. This editorial is a bit premature for pragmatists. Where is artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health? The answer is seemingly a paradox, everywhere yet nowhere. Everywhere, through AI subfields like machine learning, natural language processing applications, chatbots, and the myriad ways that large language models find correlations in data hidden from the human eye. Also, AI is nowhere to be found in the human-to-human act of active listening and showing compassion. To begin, let’s define AI. I prefer the straightforward definition of AI being the ability of non-human (read: synthetic, computer) entities to solve problems (Fulmer, 2019) or, perhaps we could say, complex problems (Tegmark, 2018). Without getting into never-ending discussions about what intelligence is, this definition allows us to address AI more practically. Therefore, something (non-human) is artificially intelligent to the extent to which it can solve problems. Consider some of the many problems in mental health – the question of correct taxonomies, proper diagnosis, the best treatment plan, access to care, and you have an idea about how AI can be applied to our fiel
